SA’s fresh voices: Sizwe Mpofu-Walsh - the cage-rattling sceptic SA so badly needs

  • Prepare to be uplifted by this interview with Sizwe Mpofu-Walsh, a fresh voice whose direct questioning and articulate commentary consistently ruffles the feathers of SA’s rich and powerful. An Oxford doctorate, award-winning book author, activist, rapper, university lecturer, potential soccer star, now trainee lawyer - creator of the mushrooming new media platform SMWX is clearly living a full life. His secret sauce? Healthy scepticism, a quality in short supply right now as a suddenly adoring media fuels the euphoria of a GNU honeymoon. Mpofu-Walsh spoke to BizNews editor Alec Hogg.

      We are a fan SMWX and sometimes come here on BN to check how far and deep they went bias on that day or special development on a topic or development hoping for something different but… that’s a wishful thinking.
      But the election definitely did reveal a lot of characters and positions.
      Independent Media and Citizen Journalism is way to go, the monopolies existing to date started somewhere and here for support.
      All this BN tactics seems like a reality check from a competitor or marker to gauge and redirect… so please Just be carful boss I mean it.
      No hard feelings to BN but you know your position.

    Shout out to Sizwe for appearing on a “right” channel. I’m very glad for his voice I’ve learned a lot about the views of the left “from the horses mouth” on his channel. He is in a unique space to help bridge the gap between the siloed “black” and “white” narratives to get to more realistic and truthful solutions. But it will take courage and strong leadership to not play in only one bubble and create a new better space.

    Eventhough I believe Dr Sizwe is biased in the analyses on his channel, this convo is a breath of fresh air: 2 people don't have to be on the same side of the political spectrum to have a meaningful conversation. The programmes on his channel I like the most are where he interviews a guest and gives the person due respect to reveal themselvea without it sounding like an interrogation. I do get worried where he does analysis since many times to me it seems too clouded by a left-leaning bias even when the facts show the opposite of his views.

    I still remember when Ramaphosa and his Ramaphoria was the thing and everyone one went with the flow including people who had written books about how a corrupt enterprise the anc had been but for some reason thought Ramaphosa was the saviour from Mars.
    Dr Mpofu-Walsh and a very few saw Ramaphosa's impotence as an ANC man tgrough and through which was against the tide and that's he became and Eff and now Eff_Mk because he refuses to be superficial, and ofcourse as expected Ramaphosa and the ANC never disappointed as we were all here in the past six years and saw what happened.
    The same will happen with this coalition because this again just a way to conceal the impotence of the ANC and Ramaphosa who have been punished by the electorate but somehow is given some life by coalition partners but hey the DA will never go beyond 21% so if they are to get into national government this is their opportunity 😂

  • @selvinlouw
    @selvinlouw Před 3 dny

    The gameplan can't be about fighting against racism and white oppressors anymore. Most of those have died out
    ...ANC needs to focus on creating quality structures that educate members on ethical issues, leaders on the ground must have the desire to improve the lives of all South Africans. And thats going to entail getting quality people with moral self-reflection ability. Not the one's who make loud noises and sing on speakers(nothing wrong with that, but you know what I mean).
    New phase of the party...Goodluck
