So sad to see him cry!! My heart breaks for
Same💔
It broke me. I never realised how hearing him cry like that would affect me and I’m sure many other fans.
Oh no 😢
I really feel bad for him he really want to win the race😢
@@historyfounded4438 I know he did, now will miss the Giro, Flanders and Paris Roubaix. All the races he set goal for this year
I’m an MVDP fanboy, but this is just heartbreaking 😢. I feel for that man and I want him to win. He’s the best all-round rider there is, yellow jersey wearer, green jersey winner. I wish him the best of luck and the speediest of recoveries. Him crying just broke me.
Really tragic. It’s sad too because MVDP is more exciting when he has him to race against.
Van Aert literally crying in pain! That was some crash. You rarely see multiple riders laying on the ground in agony like this.
😢😢😢
Visma and Lidl was pushing hard at that moment, fighting for the front of the group before a climb. Surely up to 60km/h. So painful!
The pain of knowing your season could be over you mean, pain don't make Wout cry, Wout likes pain.
My heart is broken for him. Hearing him cry was absolutely gutting. I wish him and all the other riders affected today a speedy recovery.
Watching him shuffle over like that, then I read that he broke his sternum, collarbone and a few ribs, as well as the road rash. :-( He's in bad shape, thanks to that peloton pile-up.
Great sport but brutally dangerous. Imagine all the build up , fine tuning, training etc that goes into your body only to be snatched away in a second. Good health and life are so precious.
It happened in the same race last year too and they seem to have changed it due to that. It seems this part is still known for crashes.
The reason I stopped racing... Rgr
It is what it is. Those guys accept it may happen.
As beautiful race cycling is, it's also unforgivingly dangerous and painful.
Our Wout had preparated himself 6 months for paris roubaix and de ronde van vlaanderen, this hurts guys ! Wout have so manny fans all over the world because he is such a nice guy . Wa all hope his wounds will heal verry very soon. WOUT WE LOVE YOU ! ! 😩😍
I think he's out for at least 6 weeks. Something is broken. Otherwise he wouldn't cry that hard. It's really sad to see this. I hope he'll be back soon.
I think so too. With Mads being better than last year, Wout to my mind too (his performance in E3 was exceptional, inspite of MvdP winning), MvdP being on par and a good Lidl team to battle it out in other ways....we were looking forward to the coming weeks. Mads seems to be okey superficially (he was already riding his bike an hour ago), but that is not to say he did not sustain damage. Lidl is affected of course by Stuijven (collarbone broke). Now there are still a lot of excellent riders that can win RVV and Paris Roubaix, not just MvdP or Mads. But without Wout we have lost one of the main attractions it seems...What a bummer!
The burns are painfull as hell 2! And with that speed 80 maybe 90 km/h, that's what van Dijke the leadout at that time said!
His collarbone and several ribs are broken.
@@Aegisth 😢😢
He broke collarbone, sternum and 7 ribs, I broke ribs and sternum on separate occasions and I can tell you the sternum pain is beyond brutality, with quite a few very painful weeks ahead for him sadly
0:37 loved how he handed him the new bike to continue 😅💀
Haha my thoughts
Tragic, hope the best for all of them!
I live close by i can only imagine the speed of the peloton in the descent and on route for an important climb.Damned so sad for WVA and offcourse the others aswell.
Breaks my heart 💔
That's a huge bummer. He completely built his early season around the next two races, and now he can't even start them.
Damn Stuyven, Van Aert, Girmay and Pedersen down in one crash, that's crazy
yeah, terrible.
And all with severe injuries. My excitement for Flanders is close to 0 after today. I don't think I will bother watching.
@@holmbjergMVDP gonna win with ease now.
Heartbreaking to see Wout in so much pain. 💔
Broken collarbone and ribs for Wout. He won't be on the bike for a long time.....
Looks like WvA went down first by touching a wheel. Feel really sorry for him and the others. Half of the Ronde favourites went down today.
Was für ein Schicksalsschlag!!!!! Wünsche allen Beteiligten baldige Genesung!!!
I've watched the video over and over and over. I cannot tell where WVA goes down or comes from, its like he just appears on the road in the rear. Are there any more angles. Best to all for a speedy recovery. Dang!!!
Looks like he touch the whell of the Visma Rider in front of him. Probably Tiesj Benoot (search for Tiesj Interview on the finish). So Sad 😢
Wout, as a cyclist you are one of my heroes. Heal up brother. Take all the time you need. I am sorry for your disappointment in being injured. It's never fun. My prayers are extended to you and your family.
Wish you a quick recover guys🤗❤️💐
I love this sport but, my God, it can be so devastatingly brutal! This is so heartbreaking for Wout. He has multiple fractures: ribs, sternum and collarbone and is still hospitalized after surgery. It will be a long, painful recovery for him. So sad... 🙏
Holy crap! I didn't know he was in that bad of shape. Collarbone alone is insanely painful. Praying for his fast recovery.
What a diaster! He broked his collarbone and multi-ribs.
Ik vind dit heel erg voor woud ik hoop dat hij snel hersteld kom op woud zet hem op jou tijd kom ook weer
Ouch! Wishes to all for a speedy recovery.
I started road cycling because of Wout and it really sucks to him go down like that. Prayers for Wout! Come back stronger and better! You’re an inspiration! ❤️
That wasn't wind. It looks like a drainage line, or camber, but definitely an uneven surface, which would be nearly invisible to many in a peleton 😢
Sneu voor Wout, super kerel en een geweldige coureur en persoonlijkheid. De andere pechvogels ken ik niet zo goed, wel qua naam maar verder niet zo. Beetje lullig commentaar van mij masr ik wens allen een spoedig herstel. ❤️🩹
Heartbreaking. I so much wanted him to win Roubaix. Such poor luck again
Breaks my heart to hear him cry🥹
All the best to the riders and hope, they will be back soon and in good health !
Oh no 😢
🙏🏾
wout is gonna miss the classics season and possibly giro but you already know hes coming back for that Olympic Gold and Worlds 💯💯💯💯💯
I feel so sorry for Wout. These are tough men, seeing him in that state is hard to watch. Wishing him well for later on in the season hopefully.
Puno pozdrava za Van Aerta iz Croatie.Zelimo ti brz oporavak.
Unnecessary risk before a high level race?
🙏🏼
Che peccato...auguri di pronta guarigione a un grande corridore e grande uomo
So sad to see all the crashing. It seems like it is becoming more dangerous and taking out so many riders. Not sure how that can be addressed, but just hoping the best for all of them.
This is so sad😢
:(😭
Who all was downed by the crash?
Unlucky Wout... he's done with this years classics.
hope everyone recovers fast as possible..........
Man hop your recovery fast
That is just awful to see, devastated for the guy. Wishing you a speedy recovery Wout
They were trying to avoid a drop in the asphalt
😢😢😢😢
Wat en liefje jongen
Big fan of WVA this really sucks. I hope he will be better real soon and carry on what he does best, make us love cycling.
It's a pity that everything turned out this way... How long did Van Aert prepare for Flanders and Roubaix, and all for nothing… He even shortened the calendar to better prepare for them. I hope he will at least go to the Giro, but even there he will not be in the best shape ... 😕
I think it'll be tough to recover for the Giro on time.
I hope he will have time to recover and show himself again ✊🏼
@@FloBikes Yes, I agree. If you read the medical stuff ... broken collar bone (succesful surgery BTW), 7 broken ribs and ... a cracked sternum. He's also being checked out internally to see if there is no organ or head damage. And let alone all the road rash. I can't even imagine the amount of physical hurt he's in right now. Let alone what's going on in his head. I think the Olympics might even be a close call.
Also, let's not forget the other victims:
- Cédric Beullens (Lotto-Dstny): severe road rash and bruises.
- Gleb Brussenskiy (Astana): pretty much ok, just some road rash.
- Michele Gazzoli (Astana): three broken ribs.
- Biniam Girmay (Intermarché-Wanty): rib injuries causing being short of breath (he had his horror crash last year on about the same spot ... must be tough in th head).
- Alex Kirsch (Lidl-Trek): fracture in the right hand.
- Mads Pedersen (Lidl-Trek): multiple bruises and road rash.
- Laurenz Rex (Intermarché-Wanty): pretty much ok, just some road rash.
- Jasper Stuyven (Lidl-Trek): complicated collarbone fracture.
- Anthony Turgis (TotalEnergies): road rash and some cuts.
- Brent Van Moer (Lotto-Dstny): major road rash and bruises.
- Gianni Vermeersch (Alpecin-Deceuninck): severe road rash all over his back.
All we can do, is wish these guys the best recovery possible. Cycling is so beautiful but oh so brutal at the same time. It was agonising to watch ... 😞
No no!
this is for sure one of the worst* crash i have ever seen on pro cycling *worst as for tragic, brutal, speed, impact ... ... actually this sport is so cruel i could mentionned quickly 10 like these one just in this decade ... .... one could tell that Wout was not so used to so few races and such hunger of victory at the same time...
So sad
And this serviceman with new bicycle...
😅 just doing his job but I understand. Seems a bit insensitive no doubt.
Not what any of us wanted to see. Get well and come back to us all of you. Our thoughts are with you.
That's cycling, we know it , still this is particularly awful...love you Wout, love you all guys...😪
Season over
Yall trying to tell me they can't make some lightweight padding/protection for these guys its 2024 get some new technology
it wouldn't stop the factures
Was he crying because of the pain or because of the consequences?
it was another riders, Michele Gazzoli.
Both.
What a smacker
😫😫😫😱😱🙈🙈🙈Best wihes!!!!!🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
No point in watching on Sunday. MVDP has already won. All competition wiped out in one crash.
No, we'll still see a good race, but yeah, it's bad not having Wout there.
@@FloBikesIt's not just Wout. It's all major contenders except for MVDP.
Q desolador
U can here them crying n pain
That was Michele Gazzoli you hear.
@@FloBikesI’m pretty sure you can’t also hear Wout crying pretty heavily when he’s next to the stretcher.
Edit: Doesn’t sound like it’s on this feed, but I heard it another.
bad one ....
They should edit out the private moment with WVA that's just wrong. I hope they all recover soon and no lasting effect.
@@thiscocks him crying
@@thiscocks Looks like WVA is on the ground crying or screaming in anguish from back angle.
Private?
That was Michele Gazzoli you hear.
That was Michele Gazzoli you hear. Anyway, it's sport and that happens, unfortunately.
Wout tog
horror
Faaaaaaaaccckkkkk
Peloton boys need more protection for upper body. Shame that whole season is screwed now for multiple riders
what kind of protection?
Carbon wheels are squirrely AF
Watching all that carbon fly around during the crash was insane.
Why even particpate in this race if you're WvA? Terrible luck
Last year mvdp won here and the got 2nd in flanders and 1st in roubaix maybe he though thats the way to go
@@Querientje True, just devastating that WvA changed up his whole schedule and his season is now a bust for participating in this relatively minor race
@@Luchopapa16Racing is part of their preparation and unfortunately, sh*t can happen anytime… Too bad it could be a season ending crash.
Ughh, that's awful
I'm surprised that none of the riders who crashed are in a hurry to get off the road.
😍🥰😘😂
100% he wasn't crying from the broken bones pain but disappointment.
awful :(
poor Cyclists!
Should have stayed in school boy
Get well soon
😁
