Isnt there a period where ice cap grows big enough to connect Russia and Alaska? And thing would be in such radical car to go thru radical weather and environment. S&M part of me is saying this :D
There was some time ago, no chance of it happening any time soon due to global warming I think. Maybe if there's an ice age once again.... Taking a fairy from Russia to Alaska; probably a commercial fishing boat of you can convince them to let you, is possibly a good chance.
swansea007791 Details, spelling... Thing is that we need to have something special with this car. Fastest trans-Africa race, fastest hillclimb to some insane mountain etc.
with full-blown winter tires, this would be a godsend in the winter on michigan roads - especially with the added windoors (windows+doors?) on the sides.
Man I wish Honda would make and bring some good cars to the U.S. Soon. We once had a integra type R and s2000 available for sale. Now we have a civic si that can't rev much past 7000rpm.
I like the concept, but why 2wd? It would be cool just to add a small starter motor that can engage a gearbox that goes into 2 CV axles in the front that can be used if stuck, at low speeds only. To get you out of a bad situation.
He has miles and miles of beautiful countryside to explore in a hybrid offroad car right next to him, and all he does is do turns in a tiny gravel carpark. Great. I guess that's why I like it when actual drivers do the review, not some city bloke who has never seen a race track or mud road in his life.
zakelwe It's the engine from the Civic Si and Acura ILX I'm pretty sure. The K24's that are used in the Accord are much less potent, and only have i-vtec on the intake side.
HyperLeafBlower According to AutoCar: "The car is powered by a 2.4-litre, long-stroke four-cylinder Honda engine (used in high-end versions of the Accord) that has been configured with Ariel electronics to help it produce 235bhp at 7200rpm. Its torque output of 221lb ft is especially impressive as it matches that of the supercharged 2.0-litre Atom, which is one of the fastest cars on the road."
Hm, ok. Well it wouldn't be used in any North American Accord, I'm pretty sure. The Accord sold in Europe is different, we knew it as the Acura TSX. Prior to the 9th generation Civic Si, only the K24A2 in the TSX used i-vtec on both exhaust and intake cams. I believe it was also the only one with extra oil squirters. There are many variants of the K24 out there. Stroke measures in at 99mm for all of them, maybe it's the K24W2?
Always thought the Atom was a neat car, but never wanted one outside of the dream garage. This is dangerously close to something I would put in my real garage.
DanieI Joseph they're gonna review it many many times don't worry. Ariel say it does 0-60 in 3.5 seconds, and has a top speed of 136mph. So it's more of a rally car, great acceleration, reasonable top speed.
today evo take an off road car onto a twisty road to talk about driving dynamics. tomorrow evo will bring you a commuter train stuck in traffic on the m1 and discuss how the paint is suited, though not perfect
And what have u done for us petrol heads so far? I fucking hate winging bitches like you man, just appreciate free car reviews and shut the fuck up. And perhaps learn English better..
shahidali619 I could hear him perfectly fine on a laptop with the volume turned down. Harden up. It's not like he's sitting in a recording studio is it!
I cannot explain how much I want one. Put it this way if I could sell my house and live in it. A tarp over the rollcage... Maybe a caravan. I could make this work. Now what to do with the family.
Hi Had an Atom 300, and know how much it is for even a minor repair... The problem with the Nomad is you're even more likely to dink a chassis rail and the repair cost and time it takes are utterly bonkers. I'd check this out first if you're in the market for one
+Yenko Farm Just googled him, He describes himself as tall, and someone else described him as extremely tall. So, what ever that means. Personally I'm concerned about that roll cage in front of the drivers forehead.
Guys, turn on the subtitles - they're completely wrong and hilarious
tPATRICKPL Lol! It has "300 millimetres grandparents",...no wonder it's lightweight with ancestry like that!
tPATRICKPL "teens are almost recessed Russian them" ???? WTF is going on here LOL
tPATRICKPL Bwahahaha, Thankyou!
Flabernat "what you want, I'm on my nice fight sometimes gold, yeah, however, thank you"
What is he even talking about?! :D
tPATRICKPL Couldn't understand this idiot anyway, was more fun to do this. Thanks!
I need this car for reasons.
The scenes of you pushing hard around corners and the back starting to push out are just beautiful.
Brilliant! Bravo to Ariel for doing something so incredibly original. I want one!
Lovely lovely lovely! Thank you EVO and Ariel for bringing motoring nirvana to us all.
This looks like proper car for adventure. For example across Africa or London to New York. Something epic. If you need company, count on me :D
D Gmaz
London...... to New York? ?
Xavier Jones Could go across Europe and Russia take a Ferry to Alaska drive across Canada and down into New York? It is doable :)

Brilliant showcasing the car's attributes!
with full-blown winter tires, this would be a godsend in the winter on michigan roads - especially with the added windoors (windows+doors?) on the sides.
Great review, Great vehicle :D
This looks incredible fun!
Your videos are done with perfection.
Good stuff Evo!
Love it, It is in the fantasy Garage...
Wild Atlantic Way in Ireland, some rain gear and a Nomad sounds like my sort of road trip.
The B3223 over Exmoor is one of my favourite roads anywhere in the world! Must have been incredible in the Nomad!
I've been waiting for this
Fantastic. Thanks!
Which type of rally(cross) car category would this car stack up with in standard trim? Such good power to weight and decent handling....
I need this in my garage.
***** I am enchanted by your exit music. May you share what it is?
I love this, but the engine is from the 9th gen Civic Si... Not the Type-R. Can't wait for the R's to be here, though!!!
Man I wish Honda would make and bring some good cars to the U.S. Soon. We once had a integra type R and s2000 available for sale. Now we have a civic si that can't rev much past 7000rpm.
n9athan Hondas are meant to rev to the stratosphere.
n9athan 10th Gen Civic will bring the Type-R to the US for the first time. It's been confirmed by Honda.
My local roads, they're a joy in my bm, I'd love to drive them in this Nomad. Looks like a joy to drive.
Anybody know what kind of shoes he's wearing. They look great for driving
though i don't understand why there isn't carbon panels in-between the roll bars.
Amazing
Would love to see this off road!
So would you say this is a bit like the supermoto of sportscars?
Thank you EVO!
Could you do a episode of deadly rival between the c63s and the f80 m3 please.
They should say which review is Henry's. He is so good, it's fantastic.
Can't wait for a more in depth review with some off road testing.
If I won the lottery, this would be my FIRST purchase, I want one SO much!
Now the world needs a Lotus Elise Nomad edition :D
awesome

AWD = weight
Anyone know what type of transmission, transaxle is used on the Nomad?
Why can't some hot hatches have this kind of suspension? What would happen if you put soft Eibachs on a (lifted) I20n?
Holy shit... My new apex car. I cannot wait to see this thing in the dirt and sand...
Totally awesome for what it's designed for, & at same time would make a bad-ass daily-driver!!!
Take it off road and off some sweet jumps GAWD!
Very interesting car.
Fantastic vehicle.
dam i want one of these.
I wonder how it performs off road. I hope Henry will do an off road test in the future.
I wonder if Ariel even had a business case when they started this project?
He has miles and miles of beautiful countryside to explore in a hybrid offroad car right next to him, and all he does is do turns in a tiny gravel carpark.
Great. I guess that's why I like it when actual drivers do the review, not some city bloke who has never seen a race track or mud road in his life.
Roller coaster - rails - safety wheels - the long line waiting + piston engine = Ariel Nomad
Epic
2.4 from the American Type R?
Well that's wrong guys...
Keiran B Yeah it's the Accord it's from.
zakelwe The Civic Si also has a K24. We just don't get the Type-R in the US, because Honda hates us.
zakelwe It's the engine from the Civic Si and Acura ILX I'm pretty sure. The K24's that are used in the Accord are much less potent, and only have i-vtec on the intake side.

Great car, take it up to the Scottish Borders lots of bumpy narrow roads, plus plenty of farm tracks to play on.
A new niche in the market emerges.
exciting car
Wow a Wombat Buggy car. A great and fun car to drive indeed. I thought this is another DC review lol.
I want one
Also from the videos CC 'That hey what whitewater like I calibrate. Department girl don't know.'
It needs body panels, baja lights on top, and little bit of storage space.
From the description of the drive, congratulations you just drove your first hot rod pick up truck
Looks like you were absolutely tearing it down those roads.
Anyone know the name of the music at 0:05?
2.4l from the American civic type R? You mean the Si?
Always thought the Atom was a neat car, but never wanted one outside of the dream garage. This is dangerously close to something I would put in my real garage.
It reminds me of those Hill Climb cars :)
That roll cage looks like it could crack your skull at any moment...
You should do a quarter mile sprint, just to give an idea of numbers....
DanieI Joseph they're gonna review it many many times don't worry. Ariel say it does 0-60 in 3.5 seconds, and has a top speed of 136mph. So it's more of a rally car, great acceleration, reasonable top speed.

On proper bumpy back roads this would have to be the best car in the world. No worries about cattle grids and large bumps.
Can barely hear what he is saying, not because I don't understand him but the wind noise.
Should have put in subtitles
shahidali619 or placed the mic better
And what have u done for us petrol heads so far? I fucking hate winging bitches like you man, just appreciate free car reviews and shut the fuck up. And perhaps learn English better..
shahidali619 I could hear him perfectly fine on a laptop with the volume turned down. Harden up. It's not like he's sitting in a recording studio is it!
So, its a pricey sand rail or dune buggy?
Cool
1:24 beautiful!
Bit of a foot fetish?
No offroad footage?
all of my want.
Nomad, ELECTRIC !!!!! To be "EVO".
price!?
So is it just an atom with different suspension setup...
american civic type r??? or american civic si?
very mad max
It's a weird thing but very interesting I have to say!
The Dakar next?
I cannot explain how much I want one. Put it this way if I could sell my house and live in it. A tarp over the rollcage... Maybe a caravan. I could make this work. Now what to do with the family.
I was supposed this was done purely on Tarmac!
mad max of arial atom
Everyone should have one in their 15 car garage..
i like this so much more than the Atom
Hi Had an Atom 300, and know how much it is for even a minor repair... The problem with the Nomad is you're even more likely to dink a chassis rail and the repair cost and time it takes are utterly bonkers. I'd check this out first if you're in the market for one
In the US these are selling for $90k +
At your £36k thats $70k usd.
That sucks man, import or do US laws prevent that?
The US government impose import tax on British goods unfortunately for you guys
Nice car though 💖
How tall is the test driver? Would this car accommodate someone 6'4"?
+Yenko Farm Just googled him, He describes himself as tall, and someone else described him as extremely tall. So, what ever that means.
Personally I'm concerned about that roll cage in front of the drivers forehead.
It's all relative... Hopefully, there'll be a federal Nomad i can try on for size-
***** Do me a favour and reply here if you're a tall person who manages to drive one?
cheers
american civic type r?
songs names please?
It is like a kettcar for big boys
Catchpole +1
Ace Ventura on an Atom, what a thing.
I think the failed CC captions qualify as art...
This car would be great on a Mad Max-like world....
more offroad pls?
That would so much driving in farm tracks
What exactly is the point of an off-road vehicle that only driven on roads?
Looks more like a car to me with added roll cage with out the body but its just my opinion any way
Odd socks. Hmmm..... not sure about that style choice matey! Great car though!
The Supermotard of the car world
