I'm a patient currently sporting a 3 way cath for a week (stupid cancer). You're 9 minutes of instruction/info has brought me so much peace of mind and understanding! Thank you so much!
I would really encourage you to try the new Multiphze Enclosed Bladder Irrigation System for manual bladder irrigation. It has shown to cut the time to irrigate in half and virtually eliminate any spillage and should mitigate CAUTI risk! I guarantee you will be impressed!
Hello I’m Latisha Washington and I had surgery done in August they put a catheter in my bladder and I been having a lot of problems not knowing how to irrigated Properly to wear my urine be going back into my stomach can you please explain to me what I need to do.thank you for your time
Gd day. Ty for your very informative video re: catheter. However, my question is. Is it normal to see blood clots n other mucus looking stuff floating in the tube from d catheter n heading to the bag
in the uk I dont have a 3way catheter i have the catheter where the pee comes out and the balloon port so would i irrigate up the main port, not the balloon port? i have been miserable for years but esp the last 6 mnths, igot so much sediment they have to change it every week and the bags last about 3-5 days, I'm in pain, spams and feel a twang when i move. anyone else miserable and what can i do to not feel like a need a pee and get pain all the time. also my urethra is in so much pain,it feels like the whole of man United have kicked me in the crotch a bunch of times.. thx for this tho. never thought CZcams would excel my hospital learning.. lol
My husband is 93 years old. He has bladder cancer, stage 4. He is using a 3-way catheter which was inserted at the hospital. I ordered a #20, same as what he has, from the pharmacy and it came with two-way tubing. Do you need a 3-way to do irrigation, checking for blood clots? I appreciate your help by sharing your knowledge.
Yes, as with a two-way the only line that is vailable is the port that inserts saline to the balloon. And you don’t want to over inflate that, as the balloon and rupture and the catheter will need to be replaced. I suggest reordering and having a nurse check the irrigation process as to minimalist introduction of bacteria to your husband🙏🏼 hope that helped a little.
A two way is fine. This nurse above isn’t even using the 3rd channel which is specifically for irrigation. Doing it her way you’d disconnect the drainage bag exactly like you would on a two way.
Mam my mother has a paralysis and is currently engaged in urinary cathter. She sits and sleeps about 15 times a day. Now she has light blood from the hole in which the urin tube is put. Please explain the reasons and what to do.
do people usually let the irrigation drain by itself or manually remove it like she did here? i’m confused on this. other videos have the irrigation fluid draining out on its own
There are 2 ways of irrigating the bladder....either CBI or manual. What she demonstrated was manually irrigating the bladder to get rid of any clots or foreign material in there. That is done before connecting the CB irrigation system. Bear in mind that you will need a 3 way catheter for a CBI
Just tell me one thing u r using the drainage port for both inserting and getting out the water... Cant we use irrigation port fr inserting the fluid in bladder
The touching of hair and face without hand washing and the failure to mention infection control techniques and aseptic technique is a serious and unsafe omission given urological infections can result in hematuria.
completely understand your thought process, this was purely to explain and demo in an educational setting (not to address PPE). I would definitely want PPE on for that! :)

From my understanding you need to pull back in order to get the clots out... for other cases you can allow it to drain.

You don’t explain how to get the catheter apart in order to get the water in to flush!
Just tell me one thing u r using the drainage port for both inserting and getting out the water... Cant we use irrigation port fr inserting the fluid in bladder
The other ports one is for urinalysis and the other for inflating the balloon
The other port is for irrigation of fluid for CBI
Do we worry ..when urine come out in both in and out lets
Good question
Anong paraan po pag ang ihi ay lalabas sa ari ng lalaki kahit naka catheter
Atleast do it on patients
I'll just pass on the catheter .
Audio quality is poor

Hey hello dear beautiful
No gloves apron ??? Aseptic non touch technique. Great video but PPE should be included
