- This is just one of the many Mother songs I want to cover.
I hope you guys enjoy this as much as I loved working on it!
Decided to try some cool 80s drumkits and synths and I'm very satisfied with the result. Also composed some melodies to make some verses and a chorus.
You guys are awesome, thanks for your awesome support!

Thank you for remixing my attic👍
OMG DUSTER REAL
It smells like cheese breath, i think it's the real Duster‼️
That’s what I like about sprites, everyone can draw the characters how they interpret them because they’re so... blocky.
Oh yeah, though it's also kind of a nightmare as an artist sometimes. Like every time I draw a Mother character I spend like 15+ minutes just going to spriter's resource to look up sprite sheets and examining them for multiple minutes wondering like "What the absolute heck does the Masked Man's clothes and arm cannon even look like? Or his hair? How am I supposed to convert those stubby legs with jodhpurs and boots into my borderline anime style with way longer legs?"
Every time.
It's still fun always though drawing the Mother kids, giving them traits you think would fit, purely based on how you know and feel them to be like. Some things are just a lot harder to infer, imagine, decide and design from a few funny pixels you can barely make out.
Pixel art is really fun lol
@Majin Melon You would be surprised.
One pretty concrete example of different interpetations is Ness' weight. There is a police officer in Onett that calls him "fat boy", but does that mean anything? Because of that line I've seen some artists interpret him as being chubby, while some just don't care about that line and draw him normal weight. (Lotsa text underneath, if you wanna read it)
Some other examples include eye colors. Only Ana has confirmed blue eyes, for the rest of the characters the artist has to come up with what their eye color is. (For example, _my_ Ness eye color is brown, Lucas has blue with some green, Claus has green with some blue, Porky has teal or red when under Giygas's influence, Paula has purple and Ninten has black eyes. I'm sure you've stumbled across someone who has given them a different eye color from those)
Also clothes. Sure there are the clay figures and everyone can make out that they have T-shirts and shorts and whatever else they wear, but it's the details that are the real problem. Like I mentioned the Masked Man. He's like the most notorious one. Is his jacket made of leather or what? Does it have a zipper or some other thingy in the middle? Is the collar fluffy and if so how fluffy? Does his uniform have pockets? What should his boots look like given the context of him being the commander of the pigmask army? (they are not rain boots, that's for sure). Are they tall or kind of short? Do they have some sort of heels? And also for characters like Porky, yeah he has overalls, but should I make them look more like what overalls usually look like in real life or leave them as is? Do I give him pockets? Also can I show Porky's eyes or does he keep them hidden? And Ana has a hat for most of the game, but she doesn't wear it in her clay figure. So do I give her a hat or not?
Also character heights. Like my Ness is a little short while my Porky is pretty tall. Most others though draw Porky short. And Lucas and Claus are a little above average in my drawings. The Masked Man though has enough heel in his boots to make him about at least almost as tall as Porky.
@Majin Melon Well, yeah. Of course we use the figures and Smash as references as much as possible. Everyone with a figure or a smash render tends to not change much, besides examples I noted in my previous post.
Everybody sees the characters about the same way at first, but when converting them into a different art style, that's where some of the strangest problems just arise and the artist has to make decicions.
It should be noted however that none of the Mother 3 characters have official figures made out of them (except Lucas, Kumatora and Boney are in Smash now). So for them artists only have their sprites for reference.
I get what you're saying, but for me personally, I kind of always cringe a bit on the inside when people draw Mother content in say like an anime style. I could be misremembering this, but pretty certain an old interview with Itoi stated that the character designs in-game were inspired by the Peanuts comics, so that style kind of just permeated my view on what the world and characters are "suppose" to look like (plus of course the obvious official art clay models and Smash)
I always wondered why a fucking *attic* of all things has one of the best music tracks in the game.
MrEnte3000 yet the worst boss
@@teamgeno3459 Lool it's 100% true
The barrier trio hold a close second though
Jealous Bass is so OP I had to grind for like an hour
Because it's full of angry instruments.
That’s actually a really good point
The Attic's A Dancefloor?!
The Attic's A Discotheque?
@@themadpro all there is needed is vocals and boom, ya got Italodisco
The Attic's a Rave?!
if i got a doller for everytime i got poisoned in that goddamm attic i'd have enough money to officially localize mother 3
Agreed
I first spend about 20 seconds grinding by the emulator speed key and running around. The rest is easy.
Taking into the table that you will have MULTIPLE demands because of copyright, welp, thats a lot :l
If I had a dollar for every time I died to the Jealous Bass I would be able to buy the copyright from Nintendo

Until today.
Because a remix being this good is simply incomprehensible.
ever heard of plasma3music?
+Lumcoin Well, when you put it that way...
This remix has a rival.
point of no return
This song commits giygas attack
Was this remix the true form of Giygas' attack??
Mother songs...? Covered...?
TAKE MY FUKING LIKE.
This would be the theme to Mother 3 if Mother 3 was a Cop Buddy film staring Lucas and Duster.
“DONT MAKE ME USE MY SNAKE BUDDY!”
I'd watch that
@@bigdaddydelphox6022 watch it? I'd BINGE it.
I need this to happen
I always sort of saw Duster and Kumatora as a duo. Probably since their personalities clash a bit.
in my opinion the attic is one if the most frustrating parts of the game just because of how often I had to backtrack to use the hot spring
That and the Jealous Bass at the end...ugh. At least I had a crapton of Pencil Rockets for Boney!
i had to level up a ton and waste a ton of stuff just for poisoning if I even wanted a chance at beating the jealous bass
Toxicghosts22 The only reason I had so many rockets was because of grinding.
My friend got to this part at level 14.... Yeah I recommended her to grind to lv23...
Honestly, that part where you are walking underwater and you have to get air and shit was the fucking worst-
You: 80s Synths
Me, an intellectual: Sega Genesis Soundfont. (No really, that’s all I hear, but I love it because of that.)
No wonder this remix made me think of the old Sonic games and other Genesis stuff.
this fits pretty well for what is probably the hardest dungeon in the entire game
Surely you mean attic
I’m sure that’s what he meant
I have honestly had no trouble with it-
I died twice on the boss, but it wasn't a big deal. I don't see why everyone is having trouble.
It took me like an hour of grinding to beat him

Bein Friends? Did I hear Bein' friends?!
I don't think so. If you read the description he/she said they made a melody for the chorus but it said nothing about Bein Friends
Yes, the original song is very similar to Bein' Friends, and most fans consider it to be a remix.
YES!! SOMEONE UNDERSTANDS ME!
The song has Bein friend for the beginning
Yes
PLEASE MAKE MORE OF THESE 80S SYNTH REMIXES!!!
If the numbers show people like it, then I might make more :P
Thanks for watching!
+MyNewSoundtrack If thats what motives the music then we'll never get 80s and Mother music again, cause UnderTale fans are too wrapped up in their Skeleton puns to notice the world. I'm joking of course but, I do want more of this.
Please do more Mother remixes! Keep up the great work!
+MyNewSoundtrack numbers shouldn't be sole players in stuff like this. Do what you want to do man.
MyNewSoundtrack if you wanna give us more that’d be awesome but what thumpin stompin said is true, just know we’d all love more of this 🙂
The 80s synth goes so well with this song. Mother 3 music is always great to hear.

This might be my favorite video game remix. No one ever talks about this song in general and I've been obsessively returning to this remix over and over again this last year and it makes me feel every spectrum of positive emotions. Why did I discover this song just now
You know who makes this type of music?
A synth.
Is that an insult or a compliment?
@@alexbluecyndaquil it's a Fallout joke.
AW YEAH, SYNTH IT UP!
I might have synthed too much in this one lol
Thanks for watching!
It definitely has a different feel than the original, but that's not a bad thing! At the beginning, it almost sounds like the track "It's Over", but I think it's just the same instrument.
And thank YOU for doing mother 3.
MyNewSoundtrack no you didn't. that's perfect.
Yeah, I think you did perfect.
The synths on this variation of the song work very well,
I even like it better than the original track, though it does give the track a different feel,
its more energized, while the original track is more chill.
MyNewSoundtrack *you can never use too much synth, my good man*
Shout out to the Project M mod pack I got that had this absolute banger as a track for a stage. I would train on that stage exclusively just for this song.
Absolutely love 80's stuff, space synth and all that. Please do more of the 80's synth remixes in the future

Actually, this entire remix made me think of that song. It could just be the chord progression though (which was common in 80s and early 90s music).
This is so high quality! Amazing work, this is seriously impressive!
No but unironically, I think this is some of your best work. Of course the brilliant original composition is carrying it to a degree, but this is the version of the song I keep returning to time and again, year after year. You really did good with this one, and as far as I'm concerned, this remix made this mess of an earth a bit more palatable to live on.
Haven't even played Mother 3 and I loved this. Your remixes are so catchy while also having a lot of thought and care put into them.
I just FINALLY beat this game (put it off for way too long, honestly) and this video provides me both with a dope remix of one of my favorite songs in the game and a ton of great fanart. Thanks, dude!
2:12 Never thought the attic would have so much atmosphere. Killer remix!
If by God’s grace there ever is a Mother 3 Speedrunning History video, this will 100% be used in some kind of montage
That was actually amazing. The art was pretty awesome too!

I can't thank you enough for not spoiling anything through the pictures in the video, amazing work as always!

This is, without a doubt, the best remix of this track that I've ever heard. Well done. :)
I still come back to listen to this song every so once in a while. Definitely helped me with my history notes :)
This along side a remix of Murasaki Forest with 80s synths made me really like 80s instruments and songs! Thank you!
Oh my goodness, this is one of my favorite tracks from Mother 3. It's definitely different, but I love your take on it! It's really neat.
Gotta love that Sega Genesis feel to it. :P

thicc synths are where its out. I really love how you kept the character of the original so faithfully too :D
OMG!? You did a Mother 3 tune!!
This song reminds me of “Bein’ Friends” from Mother 1.
Almost sounds like a Smash 4 remix.
