Amendment to the pricing of DJI Care Refresh for the Avata 2:
1 year - $59
2 years - $99
Replacement - $49
Flyaway replacement - $199
and drone only somewhere around $489, if buying new.
Hi Billy - would you mind telling me what your rate/expo settings are for flying the Avata 2 in manual.
Ingredients:
1. Bad pilot
2. Idiocy
3. Repeat
He really should practice manual 😂
Totally agree
DJII Care Refresh: OMG! IT IS BILLY!....AGAIN!
Please do more of these style videos Billy! I know your main mission is to review specific drones and thier features all while educating the audience. However, this FPV kind of care free flying video was really cool and relaxing. Love your edits as always cheers 🍻
Rebar and pipe was hanging everywhere but you kept flying.
Straggle city lol. You could’ve sugar coated this. Your edit could’ve shown everything was golden but you showed humility. Kudos Billy. I can dig these type of vids from you.
Damn, Billy! I remember your initial reviews on the Avata 1 and mentioning it was good because it was forcing you out of your GPS drone comfort zone. And look at you now: Manual mode, power 180 curves and crashing like a FPV veteran! U da man! Refresh it is.
I'm glad you showed real life flying a bando It Happens.
Good Video Billy
I heard a few people speculate that the Avata 2 was not as durable or repairable as the Avata one. And I guess your video shows that to be true. Sorry about your crash, that was an interesting worksite. I’m glad you have a backup now and the crashed Avata 2 is on the way back to DJI for repair. Great video, and thanks for sharing.
Great video. Love seeing the on project videos. I know it’s a Gerry rig, but did you consider taping the battery in or put a strap around.
I had to like your video right at the crash out of sympathy. I just bought the Avata 2 last week and it was my first time flying fpv. Very happy with the experience, but I did crash it twice and one of the times was on a parking lot, but it bounced back up to 15ft with only scuffs on the feet. Pretty impressed on the durability of this drone compared to my Mavic 3 Pro. Confidence level has risen just over a few days of flying. Your video's make a lot more sense to me now after watching them over the past couple of years now that I have dipped my feet into fpv. Keep it up!
BTW...Best Buy's total program is the best. $170 a year. I replaced my Mavic 3 pro twice in 10 months after crashes with only a $100 deductible. Best part is you get a brand new one same day from Best Buy.
Cutting the city off from the waterfront with 95 was the biggest mistake they could of made.
Super entertaining Bill. I'm sorry you broke the drone, but you got some great shots!
Great to see what a beating the Avata 2 can take! Thanks!
Thank you, Billy. Looks more like having fun than working. I definitely am thinking about getting one in the near future. Cheers, Brendan
Hey Billy, I always enjoy your drone content. I have the DJI lineup except FPV which I really want to get into. Avata 2 looks like fun. I'd like to start with one of them. That sucks about your Avata 2 but hopefully you have it sent in and get it back quickly man. ✌️
That one take at the end of the video looks super smooth🎉
great durability test Billy nice you managed to get some great footage of the site disturbing seein battery pop out the battery locking seems good on avata 2
Bro this video was awesome. I had a similar day with the Avata 1. lol. You’re hitting everything but the lottery. 😂😂
Good video Billy. Crashing all part of the experiance.
I would be very interested in a (final) construction video you made, just to get inspired how your result would look like. I'm doing the same thing here in the Netherlands and are always interested in how other pro's work. Would you mind to share some? Thanks in advance!
Where are you steel-toed boots and hard hat??? 🤣🤣🤣 I always enjoy your video Billy!
Are you going to use Ken's new Prop guard bumpers???
Nice night videos, was this taken with an Inspire 3?
Thanks for this! I've seen lots of Avata 2 damage vs 1. I still think I want the 2 for my indoor work. My avata 1 is SO loud.
Thanks for this insight, I’ve had one or two spicy moments where I thought I wouldn’t get my Mini back but managed.
I haven’t flown FPV before but the underneath looks really small but IRL the space is massive
always good to know there is a care pack option available to make use of...just in case
Great place to fly besides the rebar lol. I like seeing you pushing your comfort zone. To bad about the duct. Hopefully, you get it back soon. I think the 2 year care refresh for the Avata 2 is $99. Getting that is spretty much a no brainer imo. Can't wait to see the progress. Looks like it's gonna be a pretty amazing park.
Do you think "bumpers" like they have for the Avata 1 would help mitigate some potential damage?
I noticed when you were saying that “something felt weird” that it only happened when you were trying to bank right…im having the same feeling about mine after crashing and noticing it likes to veer left…any tips?
We have had a park like that one In Phoenix for 40 years, and the thing leaks water onto the cars under the bridge since it opened!!
Enjoyed your video. I used it first time proper as my first drone and I guess because I forgot to switch out of default settings when I reached so far down the beach to Culzean Country Park it lost signal and just landed. Thankfully, I learned about the function to 'find my drone' in the app, I didn't know that at the time. I use the motion controller as that's what I have for the time being, waiting to get that controller. Unsure if the motion controller enables you to spin rotate around subjects like that. It's definitely a lot of fun though.
Do you think the DOBO ribbed duct guards would have saved the prop guards on your Avata 2
Keeping my avata 1 !! It’s an upgrade for sure but not at the expense of not being to replace parts on my own
there is a battery retainer that stops the battery coming out as that happened to me and no signal! I aslo stick on with velcro an air tag , an additional gps you can search with your phone, lastly protect it with stick on rubber, flies the same much more protection, from your crash its not very strong so it must have protection...saludos from Spain,
ps wouldnt youj rather have eg a cinelog 35 with carbon frame and repairable?
Why in the hell were you speeding through there? Haven’t you ever used video speed in post production?
Fun video man! That odd feeling you were feeling before the final crash was likely due to interference from all of the rebar, if not from damage. That rebar causes a ton of RF interference with the radios.
Also, I just noticed that if you check out 7:53, really closely, you'll see a dent in your prop guard where it eventually failed.
nice video!!
wow great stuff
Seems like to make everything more compact and light, DJI has chosen more integration over more repairability
I have the same impression
yeah ... now we need to buy all those bumper 3D printing kit
I picked up the Avata 2 a couple weeks ago as a first FPV...that sweeping move that you do at 9m 24 sec., can that be done with the motion controller???
Yes it can and with more ease too but there are things you can't do with the motion 3 like fly in manual hitting 60mph+
how mutch for fix it by dji without djicare ?? the reel question !
Billy, i wonder if Ken’s Ribbed Riders would have kept the drone from damage. I love my Avata 2
Hi Billy was you flying in manual?
🙏🏻Best alternative to DJI Air 3 (if US ban takes place)?
Do you need faa permission to fly in and around a city or a construction site?
Good Video
I would not be flying so fast through that mess. as you found out, things just waiting to nail you.
Damn! I lived in the Northern Liberties the last two years before moving to Florida. I also used to go to Penns Landing and fly my FPV drones all the time. Can't believe the amphitheater is gone. Looks so different. That new park is going to be awesome!
Can’t wait! South Philly needs a good park.
I have to think that, worst-case scenario, someone will release 3D-printed parts for it. Hopefully DJI does the right thing and makes the more rebar-prone parts user-replaceable though. Excited to try this thing in a few months, but I'll be avoiding twisted rebar for a while!
Pro Tip: If you're buying your drones at Best Buy get their GSP plan. I crashed my Avata 2 last week. Same damage as yours (prop guard and blade). Took it in for a warranty claim and they just swapped it out. Was back in the air in about 5 hours.
My first FPV was a Tinyhawk 3 Freestyle. It $350 for Analog ready to fly kit. The remote failed in a few weeks of light use and caused me to crash into wet bushes and fried the board.
Replacement boards are completely unavailable, I'm screwed and it was unusable before I even finished paying it off. I'm excited to get one of these. It may not be the most respected piece of hardware by the hardcore community, But I can focus on improving my flying without having to worry about anything else.
It just may be you being a little skittish after your crash. You’ll get your confidence back….
that's pretty sad that it broke the prop guards just from hitting some rebar at pretty slow speeds
You have wayyyyy to much $$$$$...lol fun video! makes me appreciate my avata (1) even more..maybe we should have battlebot wars between the 1 and 2?
Background song name?
Great 👍
Kind of regret selling my Avata 1 now. Not that I ever crashed mine too badly, but I’ve already seen a lot of broken Avata 2s in only a couple weeks.
Oohhhh battery still comes off
I don't see you flying like this often if ever. It def takes practise and keeping composure to fly proximity.
I think it would benefit you to scope the area a bit more before just sending it and hoping for the best
I personally would just go ahead and repair it myself. I replaced motors on my first drone the DJI Vision 2 plus a few times.
i have the dji fpv and first crash the battery flew out
I like how real this is. I don't think people realize you actually will crash a lot flying drones.
FPV drones in acro for sure but not more conventional GPS drones. I've had one serious crash in 8 years flying nearly 3,000km in total distance with 13 different DJI drones. I'm also yet to crash my Avata 2 but I don't push it beyond what I feel comfortable doing. I would definitely crash it doing what Billy did in this vid (you would have to be a highly experienced FPV flyer not to) but that doesn't mean people crash drones a lot.
"You just kind of flying blind until whats right in front of you. like look at all those rebar right here" smash it and then talk about repairability. (insert Goofy picture "i'll freaking do it again"). Anyway thanks for showing durability and how not to fly your drone
Bro this flight is givin me anxiety. Peace ✌🏽 😅
All that rebar and wires...drone graveyard
I wonder if it would be worthwhile to get some fastening method prevent battery ejection? 😂 Only alternative would be a Bluetooth tracker.
+1 for care refresh when spending so much money already on a drone!
Re the frame, isn't the antenna also built into it? Great point to get it repaired for sale of safety and reliability!🔥
Bro...... please practice Accro mode 😂😂😂
Still has the 500m limit
I hate that you crashed and broke the drone but it does demonstrate the durability and I think people are gonna crash this thing A LOT. So this was a good example of what can happen when you crash while flying in certain terrain. I feel like if the ground had just been dirt it might have survived but the concrete rubble probably caused a tumble effect that magnified the crash. Thanks for showing us and sorry the drone got sacrificed in the process.
Bro just broke like 10 Osha rules retrieving that drone.
How is solo flying with goggles legal? VLOS doesn't apply with fpv??
I didn't know Jet Neptune had a drone channel 💀
I bet you wouldn't have crashed with a VO and flying without situational awareness was the reason you did. Thanks for showing us how to crash our drone.
I broke it at the same place. Glued it with 2k glue and then melted it tight with a hot knife. A bit of sanding the inside so the propeller can turn freely and voila... Good as new! ;)
I crashed mine into a rebar and the cameras destroyed... Wish I got DJI care lol..
In a situation like this, use some Gorilla Tape to ensure the battery stays in! Won’t add that much weight.
It’s such an odd design choice. If you could buy the individual parts and they clipped together you could spend as much as you wanted and dji would make a ton of more money
Super glue and a fine paint brush will fix that in 5 minutes. It will be stronger than the other ones. Paint as much surface area as you can with the glue, mate them, and wipe the excess. Try it!
I believe the consumers should start to shift away from DJI decreasing the sales of avata 2 to send a message that we would like the ability to fix our expensive drones.
well rebar is gonna win every time. but yeah definitely the, oops i crashed maybe i should play it more safe for the typical person lol
Durable enough. It took a lot of abuse before the unibody broke. That says a lot. I’m good. Will by two…:
dude sorry but how people this amateur in manual mode gets this kinda good jobs of drone capturing 😭
This flight could have been done way better with the motion controller. It isn't like you were doing loops/dives/rolls.
Please tell me you really didn’t do this from inside a car, especially around a busy airport. Better reread 107.31 criteria bro.
What difference does it make? He’s got goggles on
DJI AVATA 2 doesn’t work with DJI RC2 fpv, this fact is a crazy, why DJI? @dji
So what u didn’t go through that one hallway but u decided to go under the dark bridge thing that you couldn’t even see through 😅😅😅😅 waaaaaaaaaaaa ☠️☠️☠️
Ahhh...The Great Plaza! Kissed a Girl there back in 1984.
Still kissing her, but we are married for almost 38 years.
These things are just money pits, the amount of crashes and damage you will have with it.
Ehh... put some tape around it.
AVATA2 IS make to be fixed by DJI its fragile the busness of fixing is more important for there than selling drone !
Disagree. It is a drone strong enough to support bad pilots, but not terrible pilots.
Bad pilots won't brake it so easily. 😊
@@user-mt1uw8ks9c lol
Billy you can’t fly bro 💯
this is old footages
BILLŸ Ÿ Ÿ Ÿ Ÿ Ÿ Ÿ Ÿ Ÿ Ÿ Ÿ Ÿ Ÿ Ÿ Ÿ Ÿ Ÿ Ÿ Ÿ Ÿ
Ive crashed my drone hahaha
Check your texts...
Drone pilot flys into a metal pole then blames the drone battery for launching out of the drone.
No big deal when you have a spare
Come on CZcamsrs! A million of you does one product review. How about make a video to target. Why do we need so many controllers? DJI IS NOT being environmentally friendly. You CZcamsrs must reach out to DJI to also have the controller 3 compatible with others drones like the Mini 4 and Air 3 Or the RC 2 compatible with the Avata 2. This seems so logical why hasn't DJI done this? It's all O4 so it should just be a software update.
Agree 💯
Save the children stop the genocide help the Palestinians please.
