    I had the heartbreak of a lifetime about 6 years ago. For 2 years i was in deep depression. Then one day, a good friend and i decided to randomly do psilocybin mushrooms just to "have some fun". That day ended up being the turning point in my life.

      @James Allen i saw that happiness and fullfilment was not to be found by extracting it from other people, but in myself and only myself. I also could see that i had more potential than i've thought previously, and that i was not living up to it. And i realized that i had not been very nice to my mother when i was a young teen, which developed into a desire to be a better son. I saw glimps of how life could be if i just adjusted a few things in my life, and so i did. Things have not been "perfect" since. But certainly better. Way better.

Took half an ounce once and got stuck in a time loop for 12 hours and was freakin tf out, and I took 3.5 grams once and then a storm hit and my power went out and I had a pretty sh*tty, anxious trip. Then recently I took 1 gram on a beautiful spring day and had one of the best trips of my life and definitely the best trip of my life. The view of my backyard and our community pond was like something out of a Dr.Suess book the trees looked so f*ckin crazy. *(XD)*

      @Space Munky you cant say that, everyone reacts differently to psychedelics. I was pretty stable on my first trips at around 130micro tabs, experiencing the fast thoughts and visuals. But after a few trips, they got drastically stronger. I had 2 complete ego deaths, (not remembering my name, what being a human means, not realizing that im not always thinking like that etc) once on a 300micro LSD tab, not very surprising. But also another time when i took half a 1p-LSD tab (50mikro). I dosed that low because the previous trips were very horrifying and it always taking me a full night of sleep before being able to speak coherently (which i couldnt for up to 2 days most of the time), but that didn't stop me from losing my shit, having strong visuals and being in other peoples minds. I do have a history of mental illnesses tho and am emotionally unstable if i consume any drugs, which is why i refrain from all psychedelics

    I don't personally engage in drug use of any kind, but I find the experiences fascinating. The fact that a substance can produce such profound, personality shifting changes is truly amazing. It's well documented that human perception is incredibly flawed and that no two people experience reality in the exact same manner. Who's to say that our sober reality is the only truth; sober reality merely serves as a ubiquitous framework that allows people to communicate what they are experiencing, with some degree of congruency to those around them. This idea is mind boggling. The fact that drug induced realities may not be false hallucinations, but rather an alternative perception of reality, that simply goes unnoticed in sober life. We aren't able to see radio waves? How is that idea different from the atomic shift you feel during a DMT trip. Does anybody have any other ideas relating to this? I would love to hear them.

      60 Second Success This isn't so much my own idea or concept, but I used to have an interest similar to yours. In following this interest, some of the reading and experimentation I did in regards to LSD was highly intriguing - many of the sources I looked at seemed to suggest that LSD opened up neural pathways (and leaving them slightly open after the trip) that are usually closed, essentially meaning that it removes the "filters" that define our perception of the world, hence explaining the way one views the world whilst under the influence, and also after the "trip" itself. After all, it's been recorded that people who've done acid in the past are certainly more creative in their thinking than those who haven't (eg. Steve Jobs) This in turn also supports your hypothesis - that sobriety is simply a framework or a "jumping off point" for people to base their views of the world in and is only an alternate way of viewing reality. Anyways, your comment was pretty damn interesting, just saying :)

      Huzzamossi That's quite interesting. Those findings would match up with what Jordan Peterson said about hallucinogens (Psilocybin?) producing up to a single standard deviation increase in openness. This is pure speculation, but I wonder if there is a correlation between hallucinogen use and intelligence. Let me elaborate. Intelligence is an aspect of trait openness. I don't think it is too far fetched to assert that openness is correlated with hallucinogen use, as it involves trying something foreign to many individuals. But nested within this, is the idea that intelligence is one of the driving forces behind how open an individual is. So this begs the question, 'Are intelligent people more likely to do hallucinogens?'

      That's a good description of a pre-breakthrough trip. Unless you are lucky or do it with someone who knows how to prep it correctly you're not likely to break through. It took about 4 times of experimentation with temperature and how to breath it before we can breakthrough every time. I've only experienced 1 "spirit" at a time, but my trip buddies see up to 3 at a time. That consistency between our trips is such a weird thing.
      I've been embraced by god. I've seen an angel prance through heaven as tubes of lights flow in her wake. I'm atheist but I understand what he means when he says "real" because damn it's as "real" as love is.
      It's such a profound experience but many will just look at you and think negatively like, "Uhh, druggy bad".

    2:12 ABSOLUTELY! I have always told people that the first time I did mushrooms it changed my life. It completely changed my psychology and outlook on life, and for the better. I felt the euphoric effects of feeling "good" for months afterward, and since then I've had a more open mind in general. However, I've taken mushrooms a few time since then (only a few times within a decade) and the experience was "fun" and stretched my mind a bit... but that first time really changed my life. Granted, I was a judgmental asshole before I took shrooms - and shrooms showed me the light and turned me around. They didn't make me a new person, but they made me a better person. To this day, I say, "mushrooms saved my life". But I don't support doing them often... they mess with your mind, and your mind needs to be treated with respect, so treat the shrooms with respect.

The bible is also full of archetypes, which Jordan Peterson has talked about before, so the two are not that dissimilar and they uncover the same truths, and so there's no reason to attack psychedelics like you do.

    I tried both DMT and Psilocybin when I was younger and it's had seemingly permanent and profound impacts on my creativity and imagination. I mean it's had huge impacts on many other parts of my life, almost exclusively positive. However, as someone that loves to make music, the incredible state of my imagination is why I will always hold these psychedelic compounds with the utmost respect. Honestly one of the biggest mysteries out there, I love to learn about all facets of the universe and honestly the content of this experience if by far the most mysterious, mystical, and insane stuff out there.
    Sorry for the little rant, just my two cents. Please do your research and be careful. If you're watching this video you're on the right path for that already, make sure you educate your friends and loved ones as well! Unfortunately far too little people who venture into the realm of drugs do so with intellectual intent and it's important to promote safety, it's all too sad to see someone get sucked into the void, but likewise it's also incredible to see someone turn their life around with psychedelia. I should quickly note I quit smoking cigarettes with Shrooms- I unsuccessfully tried many other ways, but a dreadful shroom trip is what lead me to quit for good. Tobacco is a serious bitch to quit, so I am not kidding when I say that when done with the right mindstate the neuro-medical values of these plants is absolutely unparalleled. I also saw the most hardcore tobacco smoker (like i'm talking full bowl massive bong rips as often as possible) who was adamant to smoke to death completely drop smoking on the spot with (I would assume a larger) dose of LSD.
    It's so easy to rant about these things.. There is just so much potential in them, it is very exciting to see this gaining momentum in the scientific and intellectual realms, as that is where these compounds thrive. Seriously, the amount of knowledge that can be unlocked from a molecule.. I mean it must be researched!

    • @iHuzza
      @iHuzza Před 7 lety +11

      You're generalising quite a lot there +Bil Seabolt. Substances like stimulants (eg. Cocaine) are harmful, it's just that the shit they put in them (like whatever people cut their coke with, etc.) that makes them far more harmful. Yes, specific psychedelics are used to treat brain disorders - but not all, just saying "Psychedelics" isn't particularly helpful - kinda like me saying "stimulants are used every morning by most of America" when I'm in fact referring solely to Coffee. I agree with you that psychedelics are great if you don't act like an idiot and know your shit, but saying if it affects you badly only if you're a bad person is total BS, I've known plenty of naive, nice people who've had somewhat bad experiences on DMT. It's all a matter of preparation and expectations ynow?

    • @iHuzza
      @iHuzza Před 7 lety +2

      I'll admit, I was overzealous in saying the part about refining was an overgeneralisation - I apologise, it was pretty late.
      "and EVERYONE knows if you're a piece of shit you don't mess with Psychedelics"
      From personal experience, I can't agree with that. I've done acid with people who're less than desirable multiple times - (an example being a girl who was and still is a massive gold digger and has stolen from her family in the past) and they've still had better psychedelic experiences than I. Most of the psychedelic users I've spoken to have never said that "don't mess with psychedelics if you're a shit person" thing either, so from personal experience and the advice of others, I can't say that I agree with your apparent consensus.
      "But does it harm you physically or mentally other than being scary? NO" I hate to live up to your comment, but you're objectively wrong. People who have had awful (and I mean, the worst of the worst) trips can have lingering depressive thoughts and mild PTSD (at the very worst), it's been recorded in the past (And you can look this up if you're sceptical about this claim).
      Are you alluding to me being one of those people who you associated with those clichéd lines (Eg. "I know a guy")? Afraid you're kinda wrong there - I've used psychedelics for about 5 years and I have a pretty good understanding of them, I just don't like people spreading falsehoods.
      I'd also like to point out the irony in you mocking me for overgeneralising, yet you yourself instantly overgeneralise me into a group of people for simply disagreeing with you. And also, "No, I think you're wrong"? what? how is that a bad thing to say? Saying "I think you're wrong" is simply voicing your opinion on a matter. If nobody ever said "I think you're wrong", then there would be no discussions whatsoever, and our world would be hugely underdeveloped. So essentially, your comment makes you seem incredibly arrogant, as you don't seem to like people disagreeing with you on a basic level, even if they have reasonable grounds to do so.I agree with you, that psychedelics are the least harmful type of drug, if used correctly. However, when you spread misinformation, you're actively contributing to making them more dangerous, as people will go into those trips with false expectations and may come out worse as a result.
      All the drugs you mentioned are harmful in excess and if taken regularly, however in moderation, they're not on the level of causing "absolute havoc".

    • @justifiably_stupid4998
      @justifiably_stupid4998 Před 7 lety +9

      Bill Seabolt we believe you. No one is saying psychedelics don't have their uses. You said that it can help fix people while I say it changes personality - and we are saying the same message. My intention was tell people that once you go down the rabbit hole there is no going back. Most people like "expanding" their minds and only see the positive. Any personality modification is a mixed bag though, you must take the good and the bad. Can you understand how fundamentally changing who you are can impact your life? It is a big decision that deserves an equal amount of forethought.
