I totally identify with what he is saying. I too, have had this ‘split’ of awareness. I remember one day looking in the mirror with the semi conscious purpose of confronting myself. It was awkward... I have looked in the mirror many times and never even noticed much except whether my hair was in place. However this time I asked my reflection “Who are you?” I felt stripped to the bone of all the pre-conceived and fabricated ideas of whom I had always thought I was. I wasn’t any of those. What I saw was challenging and alarming. A whole new world opened up. I had always thought I was a victim of circumstances beyond my control, which to my shame, I had always unknowingly relished as a means to gain attention and sympathy. I didn’t like that person any longer. Seeing these and other faults (many) laid bare, I could hardly keep on looking. From deep inside I ‘heard’ a voice telling me why I had resorted to over exaggerating, feeling sorry for myself etc., and it said “Because you need real, enduring love”. “So why can’t I find this love - it always eludes me?” “Because you do not love yourself”. “Why can’t I love myself?” “Because you have believed a lie since childhood, and until now, you have been unaware of this”. “So what can I do to break free?” “Forgive your past and it’s lies and walk tall, and learn to love yourself. Cease lying, feeling bitter and revengeful - get rid of your self pity and start caring for others with no regard to reward”. It’s not been easy, but the more I practice this, the more I make some steps forward. Changed my life.
This is exactly what is happening to me right now! So glad to hear I’m not alone and so lucky and grateful that this is finally happening for me too

Of course not. But people who know Christ understand that Christ is immeasurably greater, and they long for JP's salvation. I do think that his lure can be deceptive for those who don't know Christ yet, but are hunting for an alternative to New Left ideology gone rancid. Some of his 'disciples' go overboard in their devotion.

I'm about 3 years into my own awakening. The first 2 years were so hard. Mostly because I was so scared and confused. But in the last year or so I finally let go and accepted my spiritual self is now guiding me. And whats really fascinating is how much better my life is getting the more I let my essence speak, rather than my ego. So much has burnt off, and it's a daily practice of learning how to listen and respond to the split. I'm becoming a new person every day.
Same here, I was depressed and took LSD almost daily for about 9 months. Needless to say it was not a smart idea lol, i was in disarray and downright going insane. 2 years of calming down and letting my mind rest has done wonders, I have a cleaned up view on life and appreciation for it, some extra pep in my step, and now I can view the lessons I was taught during my LSD days and retroactively can dissect them with clarity now. I had lots of help of course, but everyone needs a good push from a trusted confidant, be easy man.

I knew, even before I was aware of this lecture, that Peterson had gone through a spiritual awakening. It is not only his depth of insight that points to that but also that particular something about the way he looks and talks... he'd been in the dark place, there is the umistakeable hue of suffering around him which has, thankfully in his case, brought out some amazing jewels of wisdom from the depths and we are all richer for it. Thank you for sharing this with us Mr Peterson.

Yeah I had Similiar feeling about him I always take what he says with a pinch of salt as he reminds me of myself (and some of my friends) and not always in a good way... It's a strange and unforgettable feeling when you realise mostly everything that comes out of your mouth is not really who you are. 'How much ego does one need? Just enough to get you across a road safely!'

@ Peterson is relating to alignment of actions and thoughts. It defines clearly who a person is. Both spiritual and mental. Doing so will make a person strong... dividing and misalignment will make a person weak.
@@excusemesir7824 not just mental illness but relating to normal person too. If a person's mental state doesn't correlate to his actions and doesn't come from his spiritual, he loses more of himself and will lead to erosion and weakening of self.
A lot of people (including myself) focused only on mental and action as a definition of one self. We left out the spiritual. We tell ourselves what to think, how to tell and what to do so that's it's right to the society and to us. Yet that piece that is missing is our spiritual... that divinity. What is our divinity?

I think you're right but I think there's more to it. To me it sounded like before he was completely identified with his thinking side, he basically states this at 7:00 when he says that the old me "liked ideas". The other side of him, "the critic", I believe was his feeling side. This is shown by what he describes after the split, at 8:23 he states "I'm always feeling when I talk whether the words I'm saying are making me align or making me come apart". It seems that he gained access to his feeling side because he started to integrate his shadow which was previously unconscious as was his feeling side, the two were sort of mixed up. I've read a couple of stories in Jung's writing which basically says that if you're all thinking then you have no conscience, feeling allows us to place a value judgement on things.
I had a similar experience in college. I saw myself talking and realized I was just making noise but saying nothing. So I shut my mouth. I didn’t talk for a year. I listened a lot. When I talked again I found myself responding. In dialogue with the world. It is a good practice to spend time listening. .

When this split happens, you're no longer scared of letting your mind go. You become comfortable being on your own doing what truly feels worth it to you. You start preferring solitude and skip the small talk whenever you meet people. At least this is how I describe what has happened to me since the last two months. Your thoughts are welcome :)

Kinda late but I feel the same, I've grown bored of meaningless small talk. I truly have no use in my mind for it. I feel it to be wasting so much of peoples life's when that time could be used to have meaningful deep conversations and realizations

Ive been like this since I was molested at a very young age. I've had to grow up next to dumbasses do stupid things my entire life, but it's made me very intelligent. Though I've never had a positive role model, I've learned from others mistakes. I've learned from my many mistakes also.
My take is this... In the process of spiritual awakening, you will largely find what you seek. Not everyone is seeking the same thing, so the experience varies. If we seek peace, we generally find it. If we seek clarity, it comes. If we desire understanding, we find it. But each experience is firstly our own. We can share it with others, but we can't say to them, "This is what you will find" or "This is the way it is". They will discover what they are meant to discover, and you what you are meant.
But it can be a guide/help to your own discovery

Right, experience is subjective. It’s strange how we most often forget this during interaction and expect others to reciprocate our perception. I guess once your are conscious of how unique each perspective is, the projection of your ego onto others lessens.

Essentially he is describing the state or experience of “the witness” that inevitably arises as a result of regular meditation. It’s well worth sticking with a meditation practice to attain this state.
The big eureka for me was realizing I didn’t have to agree with all the thoughts that arose in my mind, as the experience gave me a visceral realization that my mind and my thoughts weren’t “me”, even though I’d been identifying with them as such for 40+ years.

He DID have an actual awakening experience, and he turned away from it, sounds like for reasons of the ego. Which makes me think he'll have another more permanent awakening, once he's fully ready to relinquish the struggle.

I started meditating some time ago and has had this experience for a few years now. It terrified me. But now that I am becoming more and more "the witness" it happens once in a while that both parts click together and it feels amazing. I just feel like I'm myself for a few minutes - totally and utterly sane.
40 + years? Sounds like your unsure when and what your first thought was.

Luke Calderon I told my bf that months ago as well! I kept listening and listening to his other stuff thinking why does this guy sound so familiar? I was perplexed for some time. Finally, he was playing in the background as I was cleaning and I yelled across the house to my bf “he’s god damn Kermy! He sounds like Kermit the Frog! I knew he sounded like someone familiar!” And you are right. Once you put those two together you can’t I hear it although in this one he doesn’t sound as Kermit like to me, as he has in his more recent talks.

I know people who have died never ever being able to say that they were wrong about something. I noticed that Tony Robbins is running ads on Dr Jordan Peterson's content. It reminds me that Tony Robbins says that he has talked with and interviewed lots of people who are at the top of their game and then distilled information about their thought processes and strategies. There is no doubt that Tony Robbins is a highly skilled, world-class communicator, but I find it noteworthy that he is now running an ad campaign on the back of Dr Peterson's own original content, whom I assume might be one of the original source 'experts at the top of their game' to whom Robbins refers. The difference in delivery with Peterson is a total lack of a 'sales' tone. This guy is the real deal.
As I see it, the difference between Robbins's delivery and Peterson's comes down to the fact that Robbins is looking for customers, and Peterson is teaching students.

Tony Robbins has a psychologist business partner who helps to develop content. Jordan Peterson is not lecturing on any content that is unique. All psychologists learn that same theory and content. What Peterson does that is his own is to tell stories about those principles. So Robbins is not taking Peterson’s material.

Jordan Peterson's wisdom is so practical, useful and touching to my life; I find myself praying for his health.
Never hero worship anybody. We are all human, all deeply flawed and very often wrong about things. Jordan Peterson is no exception.
My interpretation of comment was conveying of admiration & respect. Never say never, (saracasm) lol . Nevertheless , hero worshiping and idolizing the pedestal they stand on can be a rude awakening if they aren’t the hero you thought .

Yup. And that’s why deeper thinking can get you that. It takes more time and effort to do that as opposed to going through life and assuming all knowledge will accompany you on the way... which it doesn’t. Some does. But without deeper thinking you’ll definitely miss a lot of things. For me, I literally use deep thinking as a leisurely activity and people wonder why I know so much haha
The more correlations you know the more "weird" it gets with the crossreferences. It's "funny" to look up etymology of words, but the more it gets to your head. and you realize how subjectively we understand the words we intuitionally chatter. But who has the highest objective meaning of the words i DISCOVER. words we use but ignore to understand the original meaning of. examples like good bye: means go with god. and maybe knowledge means knowing that we are eventually reaching for the ledge; like humans are the only species that are aware of their own death. so i can understand a person that refuse to acknowledge the horrible truths about what happiness really means; i'm going to the dentist today and ignoring the fear until it's time to go, makes me happy.
The "weirdest" revelation i had is when i realized how we are drawned to thinks we do not fully understand yet until we have a spiritual awakening and it feels like your are a part of a story that was MEant to learn those things that interested you before you understood it.
This, among all things, is why I love Jordan, he’s articulated something that I knew to be true but could never put my finger on. I’ve recently undergone the same realisation - I’m mostly dead wood, and conversation has gone from being a breeze to a challenge. Thanks sir!

Yes, I find an incredible sense of connection when Dr. Peterson articulates experiences as he has here, that I have also walked through. Don't you think, though, that the longer we allow ourselves to ponder, ask the hard questions and embrace what there is to be learned through difficult, sometimes nearly impossible events we or someone else goes thru, we become more able to "put our finger on" what is happening inside and define "it" more clear and eloquently? People just never talk about things like this. But I have learned that though I am no one of great importance, part of my job here on earth is pushing others past their "safe zone" to challenge them not only to think and allow themselves to feel deeper but to risk sharing about it...not for my benefit, but their own.
I agree with you guys. Incredible.. just incredible how he puts those so far down internal concepts in words that makes sense.
Throughout the video I can't help but think and summarize this as "Being aware of the devil inside you"
and to insure that it doesn't ruin your lives you need a foundation of truth that will help you distinguish between Good and Evil. and so far the Bible talks about all this but in an ambiguous way. It gives you guidance and warnings of the things of what not to listen to or let into your hearts because otherwise once you do, it ruins your soul.

I consider that quote false and harmful. My two reasons why:
Firstly, there is no such thing as good and evil.
Secondly, people with harmful intentions usually lie. People with good intentions may speak hurtful truths.
My conclusion is to think critcally and look beyond words of the mouth.

As a young 20 yr old male, I often do worry about what my deeper negative emotions can make of me, what they could potentially make me become if I don't come to be in check with myself. At the same time, it is extremely difficult to be introspective on these let alone honest with yourself. You have this part of you that wants to hold back, and it says "no, you'll never be that bad. that's rare." But, from what JP has taught us, it is certainly true that you can generally be bad and that the thoughts, feelings, and very hidden workings and infrastructures of your psyche that make you bad are a lot closer to the surface than you think, they just don't often become revealed because we don't actively put ourselves in enough stressful situations for such to happen - who wants to do that? If we do, it usually isn't to actively psychoanalyze our demons, they actually pop out when we least expect. It doesn't discredit the thought of them being there though, and then the questions become: well how close are they? What circumstances would they happen in? And the one that really kicks is: Just how bad can I get? Would that even be "me" at that point? Even after considering all these potential inquiries, even if they are valid concerns, there is a part of you that perhaps doesn't actually want to know. But you need to know - else you might end up in prison too. It's not a nice thought to realize you're "deadwood." For one thing, most will just be saying you're being too worrisome, that it's just all in your head. But if you give a good case and generally say you're worried, well whose to say the person you're expressing your concerns to won't just simply be judgmental because you've just given a good case as to why you're disgusting - especially if they believe nobody, not even themselves can be disgusting (although rare). How do you pick the valid worries and discard the not-so-valid ones? I often think it'd be bad to express this to most people because they will perhaps just judge you, especially if they have never gone through this introspection themselves or put it under the rug when they got a glimpse of doing so. Should it be done alone, or do you need others to guide you? I don't mind being judged or told off (maybe a little), so long as it actually helps and doesn't make the bad self-state more realizable or true when it really wasn't. So long as it is genuine advice that acts help me figure myself out. Because to be honest, I'd rather reveal my potential demons and vulnerabilities than never consider them at all until it's too late. Until I have become a demon myself, or even worse, one that doesn't recognize they're a demon but does things like one nevertheless (to a low or to an extreme - though extreme can be rare, though not as much as we thought.)
I think what you've written here is really powerful. If we were face to face it would an incredible conversation. But over the internet, I feel inadequate to respond. So I'll keep it simple.
When I was your age, I began a daily writing practice, following the principles of Julia Cameron's Morning Pages. Essentially these are stream of consciousness, no judgement 3 pages written longhand as soon as you can after rolling out of bed.
After 25 years of writing this way, and experiencing the myriad thoughts and emotions uncensored, I'm very familiar with and comfortable with the lighter and darker aspects of my mind, and recognizing that I am not my thoughts and I am not my feelings. They are transient. Who and what we are is deeper and more mysterious than our thoughts and feelings. And by not getting carried away by then, allows us a lot more freedom of choice when we take action in the world. So your pursuit of self-awareness is very empowering. Don't be afraid of your darker side, bring everything you can find out into the light of compassion and acceptance.
There are a couple books that I think you might appreciate. The Happiness Trap by Russ talks about ACT, a kind of therapy. The most fascinating part was his analogy of navigating life while dealing with the demons on your boat.
The other book is Willpower Doesn't Work, which ostensibly is about personal effectiveness. But the foundational premise is to recognize that people's behavior is all about context. This is HUGE.

I think you are at a very difficult age. If my thoughts and demons had to manifest I would have most likely died or be locked up. I can't tell you how, but try to break that beliefs. I used to have this habit of imagining and playing out extremely dark and negative scenarios in my head. Then one day I was driving and it suddenly hit me and became aware that I was dong it, after that it stopped, I was 28 then. Looking back at when I was in my early twenties and the people I had around me, specifically one friend and myself were the ones that had the same thing you are talking about. We are the only two who are struggling to adult out of all of them. It felt like I only started to discover myself in my mid 30s, making sense of the anger and negative thoughts I was carrying. I think the fact that you are already asking the questions is a great sign, I was to busy being consumed by my own ego to notice.
I met this one guy during an Ayahuasca retreat in 2015, some time after that I was having trouble figuring out my demons and gave I reached out to him, we met in a park and I will never forget what he told me. He told me that those demons are just scared, that was what I was feeling, and that I should give them a safe place to stay, but let them know that I am in control not them. So I had the inner dialogue acknowledging them, letting them that it's okay, but if they want to stay, I will be the one in control.
I hope you can get some sense out of what I'm trying to say and hopefully there is something you can use.

Yes, this comment section is the complete opposite of most. Goes to show how the Lord explains that in his house are many mansions (or divisions) which he's prepared for us. People choose to seek out a level with which they're comfortable, and only as they grow and progress do they reach further greater levels.
I've spent a lifetime hating myself and tearing myself apart over such minor things. It's exhausting. Started listening to JP last year, realized I can't go through life hating who I am. So I let go of all my past. I feel like I can finally enjoy my life and the time I have left

I decided once to only say what was true and necessary. I didn't last long at it as a conscious discipline, but it changed me, and during that time I barely said anything!
Well it does show that most of what people say has no meaning, it's all useless babble. People should speak when they have something of value to say and not fill life up with garbage.
Same here it lasted for a month life was more like a dance unfolding in front of me rythmically... it is something I won't forget and carry with me all the time!
I am in the same situation and its actually becoming an obstacle to meeting new people. I have held this state for so long that even when i want to start a conversation i can't come up with a topic that i don't consider "pointless", which leaves all the real things like personal development etc. that can be quite a heavy and intolerable subject to talk about with somebody you have never met before, let alone if they haven't even had their first spiritual awakening yet.

Only in the last 20 seconds of this video did I realize how far this guy is along his journey, what you are pursuing is the most natural form of the human being, with no false truths or deceptions put on by the norms of mass culture.
It's wonderful to see his explanation of it. I went through it myself and from someone who is not a psychologist let me tell you its terrifying because you've seen something that you can't unsee and your world begins to unravel (which needs to happen). I began to align to my true self and EVERYTHING fell away. Losing that 95% is scary as shit. In that 95% was all my family and people that I thought were my friends. Now that I have found my root core and shook off the trappings I can begin the process of empowering and strengthening and actually growing. Yes I'm sad at the loss but the gains that I will get will be something out of a dream made manifest.
I feel this too, i feel "sometimes" that i sit behind myself listening to what i say and critique it. It's insanely hard and useful.

Scripture says that God created mankind in His own image. But it also tells us that we have failed to live up to the knowledge which was implanted within. Therefore our relationship with God has bee ruptured, and we need a Redeemer to restore it. That Redeemer is Jesus Christ, Son of the Living God. Peterson never gets around to imparting that vital information. He, a learned doctor, has not got that far, though many children have. Having a 'big brain' is not the solution to every problem.

He went through all the supposedly elevated New Age religions before rejecting them in favor of Christ. He saw demons along the way.

That psychological split happened to me 10 years ago! Gosh darn nearly ruined my life! One day I was a card carrying meek Christian boy, a young Ned Flanders then a drunk neighbour and his pals gave me the beating of my life. My whole inner world went dark and for years I had to WRESTLE with that shadow-me in my mind. I actually don’t know how it resolved, I think the two parts settled into mutual dissatisfaction but lately things are shifting. I wish I had someone to talk to about these things lol Certainly can’t talk to my wife, family or friends about it so it’s a relief to find SOME forum to vent.

He is talking about another split. In your case it's PTSD with depression. You need to find specialist who will treat it.

How did your split happen?
I've personally just gone through this transformation over the last 3 weeks or so. Ive been sick and stuck at home, and ive since researched heavily into the philosophy of Platonism, Gnosticism, And ancient Mythology and i pursued this research with a drive i have almost never experienced in my life. I completely relate to feeling Jordan is talking about of having an original self who is then judged by a new more spiritual entity in the mind who is FAR more rational and straightforward in thinking. And this is the mind I'm using to type this out. My old self still exists, and manifests sometimes around friends and family or when in large social situations, for example at work. However when i speak Directly to someone privately i speak from my this new 'Enlightened' part of my mind.
I will add that i did this without watching Jordan Peterson until AFTER achieving this state. however i do wish i came across this during my Epiphany.

What he describes is exactly what happened when I did ayahuasca. I got aware of the "voices". 1 is the instant voice, maybe the ego who reacts to the situation and sometimes judges afterwards, 2 is the observing voice of reason who responds. That's a huge difference.

It gets tricky when we try to label or define with words that which cannot be defined or labeled...because it exists outside the realm of the dualityband language in which we seem to find ourselves here.
I was split aswell due to the existential anxiety of the star of the world and the over whelming desire to help but knowing I was too small to make a difference. Caring so much about everything at once leads to a split mind. I’m going back now thanks for the testimony. I want to help the lost people like me
This has happened to me before and I feel like it's happening again. I keep saying things but another voice in my head is upset by them. At the same time, I just feel exhausted after having said these things. I've been feeling called to just be silent, speak less, and listen more...but I love this framework of speaking in a way that doesn't make you feel weak/aims to be in alignment with your nature

This is exactly what happened to me when I accepted Christ and understood the importance of Truth (I had a habit of lying a lot). It is still going and it's been a feeling of almost a teacher and student relationship its very personal and in many ways very indescribable. I can feel the Spirit and it's very magnetic and very alive. The most shocking thing to me that I discovered is how animated and very real the Holy Spirit is. This video just made me reflect on that. I am 21 and I accepted and started developing a personal relationship with Jesus when I was 20. And within this year alone I transformed from something like Jordan described from mostly deadwood into something ( I am being very meticulous and honest with these numbers) 7 to 14 times bigger than when I was at my best throughout my 20 years of existence, which for me was when I was a child. I feel like a child but even greater and more. I feel actual Power, animation, and life. It's a feeling that exceeds happiness, it's a feeling indescribable and intangible to the human vocabulary. And when I stop looking inward and peer over my wall to the expanse and wilderness that lies ahead I feel even with how much I have grown very minuscule. Not in an intimidating way but in Aweness and eagerness. And this moment where I have looked behind me reflecting on the growth and all its fruits that have resulted from that one simple action, that is the reason why I am grateful and am filled with deep pure love for Him. And like a warm wave from the ocean grazing at your feet I am filled with happiness, sentimentalness, and refilling of strength before I now turn back around towards the Wilderness to continue on expanding the walls and continuing on the growth that would not have been possible without Him. When I left depression (it could be described more as an emptiness) it started off with baby steps but now I am here. Conquering. I don't know why I wanted to share this. But when encountered with such a flood of feelings it's hard not to scream out to the rooftops. Jordan Peterson had been a help and I feel warmed at my heart that he is being used by God (whether he realizes it or not XD) One of the greatest insights I have learned recently too is that I am not perfect (heck I just sinned pretty bad twice earlier today) But it's not about how Perfect YOU are. It's about how great his love is. (Sin also simply is Hebrew for "to fail")
For those wondering (if there is any lol) I am currently being taught about Authority. Being a true follower of Christ is not easy but its something i wouldnt trade for the world.
At my lowest I actially forgot the ability of how to actually love. I was just imitating it (it was the worst feeling in the world) But now my love is so powerful that at times I feel like a gitty school girl XD
@Darren I dont think he's supposed to be awakened. I belive he seems awakened because he is involved with a lot of the truth in a time where everybody is thirsty for it. He is a light for many Men in this time. The problem is he hasn't accepted the Complete Truth which is Jesus's resurrection for our sins. It seems he understand many aspects of the truth as it pertains to the world but when it comes to the Spirit he doesn't quite get it. It seems he is consistently trying to relate the spiritual with the world. But I hope and feel and will continue to pray that he finally accepts the reality of Christ. He is a very intelligent man with a very big heart with a very good understanding of the Law, from what I can see. It seems he is on the cusp of accepting Him. Foolish in somethings he is, as we all are. But he has produced many fruits and the Lord says to judge people based on how many fruits they bear. I can really feel the pull of the Holy Spirit on him. So I am not worried about his salvation, I trust in the Lord

Hello there, friend. I am grateful to have encountered your comment in serendipity. Firstly, I am intrigued in the fact that we share the same title on social media. I too, sense, that JP is a man of religion but he is very engaged, perhaps too engrossed, in the rationalistic interpretations of the universe. I saw a clip of him with Ben Shapiro yesterday and JP said something that I interpreted as: he acknowledges the existence of the transcendent and he demonstrates verbally statistical data of people being much more content with death as they become diagnosed with almost incurable disease and pointed out how much evidence there is on near death experiences, at the point to which it is irrefutable. So he is a believer, but to what extent only he and Him know.
I wish to share knowledge and experiences with you. I wrote this today to share to the world:
I have been enlightened with the realisation of a self-fulfilling cycle. It starts from gratitude, the greatest of all virtues. There exists a deterministic flow of the universe, can be referred to as God, the greater purpose, or whatever you want to name it, we simply do not have the senses to grasp this greater purpose while in human form. But one can believe. To realise the potential of this universal flow. To be graced with a realisation when you practise deep meditation and deep reflection, and the gratitude that you cultivate for being able to experience through this intrapersonal connection, but also through the beauty of everyday life, the nature. To be able to detach from any hedonistic desire. With patience and inference, to sense that free will and determinism live in symbiosis and the present moment is the only thing that exists and the future path is carved for you, when you put yourself through rigor / the universe puts you in a place to face this rigor (physical and mental) and you hold a mindset of utter selflessness and purity and humbleness, being not simply content but grateful of the cycle of life, and realise the serendipity of having the opportunity to experience this rigor on Earth, you bow down to the greater purpose, and the good will returns to you through growth in form of enlightenment and revelation. To sense a grace of light. The sacred. A heightened state. To keep learning externally from interpretations of sacred scripts and to keep reflecting internally and to spread the message, so that others can learn and to be guided to the realisation of the potential of their own Word (first line of the Bible), existence and conscience. Through meditation and prayer, to recall the Word.
What is your source of information about Christ?
The Bible isn't a very good candidate, since it seems to have been corrupted in many ways. We could go into details if you are using it. If you have some other source of information about Christ, I would like to understand what it is. The last possibility is that you know nothing about Christ, and in that case I wonder how you can feel like you have a close relationship with Him.

Over the past few days I was thinking about JP saying that you may need to shed most of “you” and then exactly the lecture where he says it gets recommended. The Algorithm is spot on reading my mind again.
Im going through this now, im 20 years old and ive always been intrested between in psyce, ego and awareness
I do this, but not always in real time. At the end of the day I'm now more reflective of the days events, and my interactions with others. And I question whether I could have handled things differently or better. I spend a good bit of my time on such self- examination and critique, and I believe its helped me a lot. It's not a fast process, but it is definitely changing me in ways that I knew I needed to change. Before I started doing this, I was preoccupied with work and business matters and was generally thinking about that instead. I love Dr.Peterson...he's opened my eyes and given me the conceptual framework to understand things about myself and the human psyche that I was incapable of articulating, even in thought. We are so blessed to be able to learn from him in such a readily accessible and impactful manner, and to share our own insights with each other via our comments...this is truly a rewarding educational and growth experience.

Jordan Peterson has helped millions. His soft spoken and humble demeanor is non-threatening. He slows us down long enough to actually LISTEN. We then carry that skill set out into the world. His voice of reason actually solidifies my faith. This video in particular convicts me in a really good way (though painful I admit) what I already know: Continuously observe my words. I don’t want to spray emotional bullets anymore simply bc I’m frustrated or not in control. JP IS good mental medicine.

Jordan Peterson appears very profound and has convinced many people to take him seriously. Yet he has almost nothing of value to say. This should be obvious to anyone who has spent even a few moments critically examining his writings and speeches, which are comically befuddled, pompous, and ignorant. They are half nonsense, half banality. In a reasonable world, Peterson would be seen as the kind of tedious crackpot that one hopes not to get seated next to on a train.
Jordan Peterson's thought is filled with pseudo-science, bad pop psychology, and deep irrationalism. In other words, he’s full of shit.
But his regular pearl-clutching, skirt-gathering episodes of the vapours signify that he is a far more simple creature. He just wants to be taken seriously, goddammit. Being exposed by someone who is so obviously smarter than him and is therefore immune to his pseudo-intellectual schtick is Jordan Peterson’s Room 101, it’s entitlement Kryptonite. It re-erects the prison walls of his mediocrity and unoriginality. This is why he is forever posting items on how much he has sold, how many views his CZcams videos have had. The void must be fed constantly.
It’s easy to assume Peterson is deserving of respect. A lot of what he says sounds, on the surface, like serious thought. It’s easy to laugh at him: after all, most of what he says is, after fifteen seconds’ consideration, completely inane. I’m just going to say it: Spend half an hour on his website, sit through a few of his interminable videos, and you realize that what he has going for him, the niche he has found, he never seems to say “know” where he could instead say “cognizant of”-is that Jordan Peterson is the stupid man’s smart person.
Peterson’s allusive style makes critiquing him like trying to nail jelly to a cloud, but I have tried to indicate alternatives to his assumptions about morality, individualism, reality, and the meaning of life. If you go for Christian mythology, narrowminded individualism, obscure metaphysics, and existentialist angst, then Jordan Peterson is the philosopher for you. But if you prefer evidence and reason, look elsewhere.
