I still have both my Engels. I use them in the camera crew truck to feed the boys. Both Snomasters are holding up just fine. I have had one in the truck for 3 years, never switched off. Temps in the car are upto 70 degrees. If they were going to fail I think they would of done so by now. The Waco died after two years. Had to get it refurbed
Yep Engel will outlive all the others. My first one is almost 13yrs old and has been all over Australia and so many trips. Never plays up....my beers are icey cold and never had it draw more than 4.5 amp
My Snomaster sucks a fat one. Second unit in a month. Outsourced to China now. Quality control is terrible. They delete negative reviews. Just a really really shady and deceiving company.
And they say women gossip, wish they would just get on with the test, All this BS just to get Hits and then talks about making it in to a series of 4 or 5 videos, No Bloody Thank You.
Just out of interest I have seen the video of your land cruiser and it is a Great looking Vehicle Which got me thinking, Why did you go for the 40L Snomaster and not the 60L or the 56L Twin, Because your Truck is a serious piece of kit So why such a small fridge, Do you only do short weekend trips or do you have another Snomaster now as well, You got me thinking because I have the 47L ARB and the 78L ARB, But I am wanting to buy a couple of Snomasters "OR" buy one of their Twin Models, Also why did you go for a single and not a Twin, Thanks for your time.
CoooL, was there any reason why you went with the single Bin model because I am having trouble choosing between the Single 60L or the 56L Twin, I like the idea of having both in the one unit but I am worried about loosing space which means buying the 60L and the 40L or 2 X 60L, I am having trouble tacking the other models down here, But I found a 95 Single which I would like but I am worried about it being too tall, The bad side about The ARB 47 and 78 is they are Taller than the 35 and the 60L Which is another reason I am looking at Snomasters because they have a shorter Lid which means I can open them wider. Thanks Again.
You guys haven't got a Clue, A Fridges Cycle must be the On cycle and the Off cycle added together which makes one complete cycle In order to work out the correct power usage over a period of 24-36-48 hours etc you can't just pick the on cycles because If two fridges both run for 15 minutes and one shuts of for 57 minutes and the other shuts off for 92 minutes then the one that shuts off for 92 minutes is going to use a lot less power than the one that shuts off for only 57 minutes, Oh and by the way The ARB 47l will use 120.9w per 24 hours and 9.527A per 24 hours, That's equal to 0.398A/h and just over 5 watts per hour. 12 minutes of video and past the 7 minute mark you still haven't shut up and got on with the job.
thank you for your comment. Not everyone is as clued up as you and therefore people need more of an explanation. As for the actual tests have you watched those to see the results?
I found this video and No 3 and another one with you in the house but I could not find the others, The video in the house might seem a little low tech but it shows real world opening and shutting of the fridge which is one thing Kids are great at doing, So I really liked that video, Well Done Sir.

The old Engels are the way to go!! Mine Engel's build date us July 1977 and running perfectly.
