Do you have plans to host any parties this holiday season?! I will be hosting Christmas in my home and I can’t wait! I hope you find these party tips helpful! I tried to talk about things I haven’t mentioned before :). Please give the video a THUMBS UP if you enjoy it!
Egg nog recipe
Serves 6
Ingredients
6 egg yolks
2 cups of milk
2 cups of cream
3/4 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1-2. Cinnamon sticks
2 1/2 whole cloves
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
Add milk, cream and cinnamon sticks to saucepan and bring up to a simmer on medium heat.
In a separate bowl coming sugar and egg yolks and whisk
until it starts to look frothy, about 1-2 minutes.
Once milk is warm, begin tempering the egg mixture by adding a ladle of the warm milk at a time to the egg mixture and mixing each time. Do this about 4 times. Add the rest of egg mixture to the saucepan. Add all your other spices and let it simmer for about 3 minutes. Do not let it boil, turn the heat down of it starts to boil. I never heard anyone share tips on ending a party and I am so appreciative!! We recently had a large gathering and we have certain guests who love to stay and talk for many hours after everyone has gone home and as sweet as they are and we love them, I am the first to admit that as a hostess, it is exhausting! The beverage that reminds me of Christmas is “Coquito”. It’s somewhat of an eggnog made with coconut milk, coconut cream, evaporated milk, condensed milk, vanilla, cinnamon, & other spices. You then add rum. It’s delicious. That’s the Puerto Rican traditional Christmas drink.
I’ve had this once and omg it was amazing!!! I’m going to attempt to make it this year, do you have a good recipe?

OMG! I'm an eggnog hater and I even drank this for a Christmas gathering and man it was great!!!! I had two whole bottles 😂 I didn't even taste the eggnog lol so that should tell you something. I was watching one to make but my stomach turned once it said raw eggs 😫 can I omitt that? Or with out even putting eggnog in it which I know would defeat the whole purpose lol
Ladies this is the recipe.
Traditional Coquito
Ingredientes:
2 cinnamon sticks
2 star anise
6 spice cloves
1/4 c water
1 can evaporated milk
1 can coconut milk
1/2 can coconut cream
1 can coconut cream
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1 cup of rum (usually use Bacardi)
In a pot put the first 4 ingredients & simmer on low heat until reduced to half (this is called a spice tea). Let cool & strain.
In a blender combine the milks & coconut cream & mix to incorporate everything. Add the spice tea and blend. Pour into glass bottles and throw in a cinnamon stick. Refrigerate and serve chilled. You can garnish with toasted coconut or a dash or stick of cinnamon.
This recipe doesn’t have raw egg.

For me being Trinidadian, there are a few Christmas drinks: Sorrel (non-alcoholic), Gingerbeer (non-alcoholic), Ponche Creme (alcoholic) Rum Punch (alcoholic) and homemade wines (alcoholic).

I love the baby’s breath on the cheese platter idea! I have never thought of that. Just always used the typical parsley, herbs, etc. Also, great idea with how to gently encourage guests to wind things up and head out. I hope that trick works on my brother this year lol.
