The part of gameplay that got me thinking “This is how it should be” was when your Pokémon learns new moves they don’t forget the previous ones and instead just switch out a set of four of any move your Pokémon currently knows. Not only is it a great quality of life perk but it also just makes sense. Like why would a super powerful being only be able to keep 4 techniques in their head?

I got a weird idea for a nuzlock, and could use some feedback. So my current idea is that you can catch one pokemon either per Map (which would be harder) or per named area (which could give more leeway). Another idea I had is that the pokemon you go for can not notice you, or the catch is forfeit, this would make it more about skill then about luck. As for all the other mons you need to catch, well you can just toss those into a box or release them. Keep in mind this is a rough idea that I got while playing the first 30 minutes of the game, as in I only just beat the first required alpha. So any ideas on how to improve would be appreciated.

Honestly I rather... hear me out. Next legend game should be an entirely new story, you start off in the past already as a character from a tribe/clan in a region that would become Gen 9 or 10. Filled with a ton of new (70+) and old pokemon. At the end of the story arceus bring you into the future to help with some issues. And it ends with you waking up to the concerned professor of the Gen 9 or 10 region and its starters looking over you.
Then later in the same year nintendo and pokemon should release the Gen 9 or 10 game. With the new pokemons from legends returning, some with evolution changes: typing changes, new variant look, new evolutions, color changes, etc. And the story in ways continuing but at the same time if no one played legends still be it own thing.

I didn't set my expectation too high for now since it's GF 1st attempt at breaking their traditional design and have been enjoying it. Also, I don't think there is a hard/souls-like difficulty pokemon game (I remember only using my starter + HM slaves in clearing the original Red,Gold,Ruby,DPP)
My comparison was with their previous games (the latest is BDSP) which was "as expected" to play in my opinion (as someone who started in Red version)
With this game making that "step", I can now hope and set greater expectations cause I don't really expect much if they are following their "traditional formula"
I too have disappointments on this game like how they removed all pokemon abilities in the game(except one from what I've heard)

@@RaiGamingz Yeah i agree that have never been a "hard pokemon game" except maybe for BW2 in hard mode, but I also don't to expect it to be really hardcore, just something that makes you use your brain a little. I think the problem is that the Pokèmon comunity tends to compare these titles with others of the same Pokèmon series (and more specifically with the ones of the mainline because with spinoffs we reached very high standards) and not with titles that have been published in the same year. When I started doing that I realised that before they are going to make a change that i'm gonna actually appreciate and not rushed and timid attempts, I will probably have played something even greater. I hope I am proven wrong because I was very into Pokèmon, they were my childhood but let's face it: brands are just brands, not friends and not even something we should trust blindfully.

The "only 6 pokemon on a team' thing is because cannonically its difficult for people to manage more then that ,so thats why only skilled trainers have u pto 6, cause people who are unskilled can only care for 1 or 2. think of it like caring for a kid, you have 1 baby to take care of ok managable... 6... yeeeeah no.
Same comes for combat, the only people who have 2 pokemon out at once are trainers who build bonds with pokemon instead of capturing them in balls like you do.
The galaxy core "enslaves" pokemon, while the native trainers treat them with respect and befriend them, thats sorta the deal and how we work with the riding pokemon, why we dont send them from pokeballs but instead call them with the flute.
So trainers who use 2 pokemon are those who dont have to work as hard to manage their pokemon because they befriended them and grew with them, while us we just snatched them up, and so we can only control 1 at a time.
Same reason why in the old games, double battles were almost always 2 trainers versus you, cause you the protag are strong enough to control 2 pokemon instead of 1, while the opponents need to control 1 each.

Same! I hope they up the research you have to do, if they ever make another like this one or even going forward
It'd be fun to have to figure out when their active, maybe you could even watch them pick up random materials nearby like the berries or rocks/minerals for ground and rock type and eat it, or even watch pokemon that are enemies chase each other
There's tons of potential for future games here!

The consensus from what I've heard about this game is that it is one of the best Pokemon games made in the last few years yet still feels cheaply made

There’s a lot that could be built on, expanded, fleshed out etc. But since it’s fun and different i’m happily buying it because I want more pokemon games like this. If it doesn’t sell well that won’t happen.

For me it is the monster capturing aspect. I have fun, when a game has many cool creatures, I can capture and bond with. That and nothing else is why I love Pokemon and that is also the reason why it cannot suprise or disappoint me.
