If it looks like a duck, quacks like a duck, and waddles like a duck, it's definitely a husband who murdered his wife. I'll be paying close attention to this trial and I'm hoping beyond reason that Maya's body is found, and her poor family can lay her to rest with respect and dignity.

This sounds like the classic case of “if I can’t have you no one can.” This case is wild, I hope her body is found and the husband is brought to justice.

This community def stands in support of Maya and her family in seeking justice. Everyone just wants her to be found and come home so her family can have some kind of closure.

I also heard that dogs can Since wen A threat or someone being hurt close by there was a story a woman was in the woods not to far from someone's home he said his dogs kept acting up barking going to the door he didn't hear or see anything they want on barking n acting strange as the guy said it for 2hrs so he finally decided to take a look wen his son got home n thy found a woman in the woods hanging on to life there was no way to see where she was thu the woods from his home n she didn't seem to scream cus that was cut so she wasn't able make a sound but the dogs Sensed something

The dog barking, is clearly a distress bark. My dog seemed very concerned just listening to it with me. So very sad .
Definitely sounded like the dog was in attack/protect mode. Don't know if it was their dog or the neighbours but either way the dog definitely knew it wasn't right

What about the freezer that he took over to the uncle’s like the day after she supposedly left?!? Then it disappeared! His uncle is super suspect as well. He took off after she went missing and turned his phone off all day. Obviously she was taken somewhere and disposed of. So crazy, this whole story.
This episode is insane to listen to as my boyfriend’s sister in laws mom has engaged in some very similar actions as Larry. She’s a very religious woman, constantly giving all thanks to God, goes to church etc. but earlier this year they found text messages on her phone having a conversation with someone and turns out has been paying a “doctor” to cast a spell on her daughter and my boyfriend’s brother since the beginning of their relationship, to break them up, prevent them from getting engaged, married. Everything.

I live just down the road from where Maya lived. This case still has this community traumatized. Personally after hearing the audio from the neighbors door cam, I think the husband shot her and hid her body. He had ample time to do it. I pray she’s found.
Very interesting case. As a counselor, I can see he had serious mental health problems. He wanted power over her. Part of that is cultural.
She was cheating on him... thats just ok with women, he obviously did not handle it well. You leftoids and power dynamics, no suprise when you die alone smashing patriarchy.
Or at night , on the couch , wrapped in a blanket , with a good snack !!! And of course the LIGHTS OUT !

I was listening to this case, after my husbands old time friend/brother was brutally murdered at 8 in the morning. He was shot 9 times i believe they said, and then hearing it on ring camera footage & then seeing the video all over tik tok & twitter has got me pausing ur video. I cant listen to anymore gunshots & i know those were defintely gun shots.
The fact that theyre claiming they cant tell is just sick.
Too many people get away with murder literally over technicalities. So always have your ducks in a row when fighting the good fight.

I knew of this case from The Interview Room and all of Maya's family knew it was her husband. Some women can't even trust the men that should be protecting them. Very sad.

Grew up in San Diego very close to Chula Vista and it’s been really sad to hear this story (when it first came on the news) because it’s so close to home and have grown up within the Filipino community, family holds a lot of importance within the culture.. which is another reason why the husband doesn’t make any sense that she left everything behind. Chula Vista is also the backyard of Mexico basically(the border is probably 10-20 minutes away) and also very close to a lot of different hiking trails /the mountain side that can be 20 min away as well. Plus we are close to the desert and the ocean so it’s really difficult to say where her body is. I do pray one day they do find her and the truth does come out 😢

So happy y'all finally covered this case I stopped listening when you guys covered gabby petito on Mile higher and well known missing persons. I submitted this case through your form when it was active and figured you would never cover it even though all major true crime shows like nancy grace, court tv, 48 hrs, and even dr phil had the family on. Never thought this would end up on lights out but definitely makes sense given the many twists and turns. This story has stuck with me and i constantly check for updates every few months thank you a bunch!

I've seen this type of case before. When you pay to have someone bewitched...sometimes those bewitchers actually do things to your target. This happened already in another court case. Somebody paid to someone bewitched and those people tried to off the guy. It's almost as if they don't really believe in witchcraft otherwise they would just let the spell do it's thing, instead of interfering.

While paying a witch to lay curses on people isnt illegal, it could be seen as motive by a jury.
The affair and divorce are the motives. The curses aren’t motives, they prove that the divorce and affair already motivated him to harm her way before her death. They’re going to help the defense’s case a lot.

I dont usually like to speculate too much but I wonder if those first four shots could have been him shooting the door to make that hole. Maybe she had locked herself in that room to protect herself. Just a theory though.
Or to scare her and then she went to the bedroom and locked herself away which would explain the space between the other bangs. The second they said the PI saw the hole in the door I felt like it was because he wanted to get inside and she was hiding from him

Having the ac run in the middle of January could be a way for him to keep her body cold while he figured out what to do with her. That would be interesting accept they live near California and it could be warm there in the winter.

it drops to about 60’s and 50’s during the night. for us that live in her area (i live 5 minutes away) and are not accustomed to cold weather it’s freezing cold for us. it’s very unusual to run the AC during this time

This is so sad! It happened in Chula where I grew up! Crazy since I also have friends and relatives in CVPD. I do wonder if the spells/hexes really did have some influence but definitely know Larry is guilty just by his crazy behavior and actions.

there was a body just found today in allied gardens. (so about 15 miles from chula). body was found in a deep freezer, unidentifiable, only thing thats certain is that it is likely a female body.

I walked by Larry Millete while I was fighting my case in San Diego county jail. I was working for a custodial training program as a trustee called HSAT and he walked right by me handcuffed on the 3rd medical floor. I had just seen the news the night before in the trustee dorm on the 8th floor and I recognized him as he walked right by me with 2 deputies while I was mopping the floors.
