As a 20 year old living with roommates, my roommate's ex boyfriend's dad got out of jail and stayed with us for a couple of months. He was polite and tried to avoid bumping into us. Looking back, it was probably not a good idea but he wasn't weird or creepy in any way.
You're very lucky, my lifestyle around convicts when I was a teen led to so much drugs pushed on me and abuse from them. I was an easy target, I suppose, as a very young, pretty, very troubled kid. And they acted like vultures till I finally ran away and never looked back on that state. One of the main abusers was the convict Dad of my friend at the time, and I trusted both.

I think his daughter is a little more guilty than she led on. Yes she was brainwashed too but so was Isabella and imo she’s a horrible person. Talia bounced out and I’m sure she saw something was wrong because it seems she never came back to participate or warn her “friends” something was wrong. She just stopped talking to them? Her good friends? Weird

I agree, it seemed from the documentary that she put the idea of him into their heads and laid the groundwork for what was to come, then disappeared. I'd love to know how much she had to do with it and why she left.
As a mom who has provided a safe space for multiple extra kids, this one hits me hard! My goal has only ever been to help every one of these kids become comfortable in their own skin. I’ve helped them heal, and become functional after they had been kicked out, abused or let down by their own parents (often after coming out to them). We’ve literally never had a room stay empty for over a month. I’ve never profited from them, and the thought that someone could take advantage of them disgusts me.
As someone who was once a kid with nowhere to live but my friends parents houses- thanks mom.

I’ve been an OG since before Josh had even started YT when it was just Kendall Rae so seeing all of you, your entire team and all of your channels, succeed and continue to get better and better is so rewarding. I cant tell you how many times i’ve listened to and relistened to episodes, so im so glad you guys are earning the recognition you deserve!!!
I think him manipulating his daughter when he was getting divorced catapulted the idea of using her as his in. He couldn’t do that as well with older adults or politicians or high ranking military officials (noting that he certainly did for a few, but not with a large number majority). When he got out of jail, he used his “IN” because he knew his daughter was already programmed and what better place to prey on people than college where his “IN” was going to school.
To me it honestly doesn't matter if it was planned or not this man is sick regardless. So happy to hear that everyone is finding themselves again!❤

As someone who was mind controlled and in an emotional abusive relationship, I know exactly what these women went thru. i defended my ex, apologized for everything, and became a shell of a person. I thought to myself “I guess this is my life now” because leaving was never a thought. I thought I was nothing without him

Guys, there's an awesome podcast here on YT called Cults to Consciousness, I think you're gonna love it. It's mostly interviews with people who got out of cults and/or religious groups. It really shows that literally anyone can get into a cult, no matter their background or how smart they are.

Talia should absolutely have charges brought against her. Without her, her dad wouldn’t have moved into the property and none of these people would have had their lives ruined. Yes she was a victim, but she got out early and watched unfold.
Congrats! To answer the question at the end, I definitely dont think he ever thought he'd be caught. Narcissists think theyre smarter than everyone. I think his giant ego got off on the power he had over everyone, and he just kept pushing the limits to see how much he could get away with. If he was never caught, I feel like there would have been fatalities and even more abuse we couldn't even imagine.

I agree with Austin in the fact that manipulator's are terrifying and even though all the victims survived in my opinion this episode freaked me out so much. With that being said even though all the victims survived I am sure that they are going to struggle the rest of their lives trying to heal from what Larry inflicted on them and I would also think how hard it would be to trust someone again or let someone close to you. I pray that they all heal and get peace. As for Larry I hope he is having the worst possible prison experience possible and I really hope someone is taking advantage and abusing him. The master manipulator is going to be with some hard core criminals that are very good manipulators as well so they won't be as easy to control them so prison will be his worst nightmare. Now I will also say I don't think he came into the situation with the plan of starting a cult I think he needed a place to live and when he realizes that he could take advantage of these young people the opportunist he is jumped on it. It's so hard for me to imagine how this sort of thing happens especially to intelligent people but when the woman said he was able to control people in pretty high positions who would also have to be pretty intelligent themselves what chance did she have? I completely agree with that and that's what scares me the most because I then realize it's not just someone who isn't smart or in their right mind or doesn't have supportive families. I watched a video a while back and I can't remember what it was called but they interviewed someone who got out of a cult and she said that in the beginning the leader and follower's were so welcoming and kind and caring. So by the time you might start seeing red flags you're already in to deep and you start justifying or making excuses for those red flags and that helped me get why people end up in a cult.

What a sick, sad story
Stories like these are always so shocking for many reasons, and I'm absolutely not victim blaming but it makes me think how mad it is that someone else can make you paranoid to the point you think you're parents would have a conspiracy against you. Are we all like that could it happen to any of us if someone was manipulating enough? I know we meet manipulative people every day but that's extreme x

I know that Isabella needs to be held accountable in SOME way but she absolutely IS a victim and prison isn’t going to do anything but traumatize her more and possibly radicalize her more.
In my experience (I’ve been to jail a handful of times) most of the COs are just like Larry…well less advanced.

Yeah that’s the problem with jail and prison that makes it so ineffectual beyond just keeping people physically separated from society during their incarceration. Beyond that it tends to just make broken people more broken and then spits them back out into reality.
