      I’m still waiting for the monster X from Indiegogo to arrive.
      While it may have less MAH, I felt the warranty was better.
      On the elective, The manufacture is touting how it has those NMC batteries.
      I’m a little skittish when it comes to such a new technology that hasn’t been tested in the market yet. However my concern with the monster X is the battery system itself if anything overheats at least on the elect hive it has a fan that sucks in the cold air and Vents heat

    • @RobTheNotary

      The one disappointment and maybe I’m being petty here but the monster X only has a 400 W capacity for charging while the elechive goes as high as 1250w

    • @theStepFamm
      @theStepFamm Před 4 lety +13

      all the specs tell you that info already.
      calculate the wattage of all of those things you'd be running. a fridge will pull up to 350 watts peak startup, then drop down to about 30-80 watts every few minutes to keep the area frozen/cool . so you calculate that with an A/C doing pretty much doing the same thing. thats about 170-340 watts of cotinuous draw (load) so therefore you need about 350-500 watts of solar panels to keep them running 24./7
      a fridge and a/c dont run 24/7 so they dont take a continuous draw.
      a television/monitor takes nothin more than 30-60 watts while its on, and you only watch maybe 3-4 hours a day.
      as long as this thing is fully charged, it can do all of those things . keeping it fully charged with enough power so it doesnt go to 0% is your task

    • @kingb3
      @kingb3 Před 4 lety +4

      Correct a real world test would include what the average user would use it for sure isnt welding. I saw another utuber drain the battery and got 1.3 usable kwh out of it so also not true that the specs would tell you how you long it lasts.

      I have to admit it’s a bit of a challenge when you’re learning about this product to see someone try to max out a unit like this but not show a more practical home scenario. How about running a mini split for 24 hours kicking in to heat the home to 70° All powered by solar. when the mini split draws 720 W. Would the bluetti work in this situation? Still trying to work this out for my tiny home.

    what are the real world chances that this $1400 pre production price really goes for sale for $1800 after next week? Will they be around and really honor the 2 year warranty when a port fails or it stops taking charge? Im tempted to buy this, but think it might be smarter to just configure it myself so I can replace and upgrade major components as needed later. .. a 100ah litium is 1200wh and only cost $700 now and maybe that will cost $500 in a year.
    I'm mostly interested in knowing I can charge this thing fast with a 400 watt panel on my roof AND (same time) while driving through a 1500 watt pure sine inverter. Also wthout the inverter while driving wondering how many amps i can safely push to it through my 115AH deep cycle starter battery w 160a alternator from an 8' 8awg copper line and stepping up my voltage to 48v since fast charge seems to be switched from voltage. Another concern ive heard with similar units is that sometimes with voltage drops in the source, they step you down to some lower charging profile and you have manually reset?
    If it was home depot or walmart selling this I would not hesitate to buy for a minute.

    I ended up getting a 20KW Generac natural gas generator. It will run the whole house for months.
    Natural gas is hurricane proof. During World War II Europe had natural gas.
    There is a orange lever that you can switch from natural gas to propane.
    When the power goes out the generator automatically starts up and starts to run the house in 10 seconds.

      Only problem is in a grid down situation a motorized generator will be heard. If they hear it, they will come and get it. You need to think!

      @@robertpoirier8520 I would like to see them come and get my Generac 20kw generator.
      It weighs about 1,200 lbs and runs on natural gas.
      The other day out of the blue about 9:00AM all power went out.
      I got a text from Center Point Energy here in Houston. They said some equipment failed and will effect about 800+ people. They also said the power should be back on in 2 hours.
      After the power went out I started counting... in 2 seconds the generator controller sensed the outage and started up the generator while disconnecting the house from the city power.
      The generator got up to speed and switched over to it's power and the house's power came back on and ran until the city power came back on.
      The generator has 'load sharing' which means if you have an electric dryer, electric stove or other high draw appliances in the house it won't bring them on all at once.
      When it senses the city power is on it will continue to run for about 30 seconds to ensure the city power doesn't go off again.
      Thank goodness for a natural gas whole house generator.

    so this has less battery capacity than the MAX2400? just more features?

    • @SilverCymbal
      @SilverCymbal  Před 4 lety +2

      The 240 could run 1000 watts but had 2400 watt hours of run time. This one is 2000 watts of running power but less with 1700 watt hours of run time. The run time is almost the same but the output is doubled and the massive amount of solar input is a big deal for many, the touch interface is very useful and the extra outlets and wireless charging are cool too. Its a very good upgrade but functionally the larger input is a big one.

      @dnhman Před 4 lety

      Silver Cymbal thanks for your reply, I have been watching severL videos on these types of solar generators as I’m looking for something that could run a small off grid cabin, lights maybe small fridge, I think this unit can do it for a few days with sufficient panels.

    • @SilverCymbal
      @SilverCymbal  Před 4 lety +1

      @@dnhman It definitely could and saves you from needing a lot of other adapters for different equipment you might run. The key is if you have a lot of panels and only a little daily light this will be able to tae advantage with the huge solar input abilities. Very unusual for that much power.
