Thunder, Gray Wing, and Turtle Tail are not comparable at ALL lmao, because there, Thunder acknowledges Gray Wing as the cat who raised him, the cat he trusts, and his father figure (while still leaving the door open for Clear Sky who occasionally steps through it and is currently just chilling on the door frame), while Turtle Tail reiterates constantly that while Gray Wing isnt their bio dad, hes still their father, and they still acknowledge him as such even when theyre adults and literally about to leave

Its really not fair that you just tried to make that one pretty reasonable instance of wanting to know more out to be as all three just magically rejecting Gray Wing when they never did

The part about Hollyleaf and Ivypool is so true, although there’s a scene where Ivy thinks to herself that Hollyleaf is super cool which I thought was pretty cute. I feel like I get what they were trying to go for with both of them being the “odd man out” prophecy wise, but I really wish they got some actual bonding scenes to better justify having Hollyleaf sacrifice herself for Ivypool like that.

@@FinnyThePorg because Ivypool decided to drag a cat with a neck wound all the way from WindClan camp to ThunderClan camp just to see Leafpool. The fact that Hollyleaf was still barely alive after that tells me that if she had received immediate attention instead of having the treatment delayed and the wound opened up further, she would have survived.

This is my favorite book of the series. I loved how the clans actually got together and formed a battle plan; with contingencies, no less; and then carried it out. The only thing that holds it back for me is how they killed Hollyleaf; they just decide to drag a cat with a neck wound all the way from WindClan camp to ThunderClan camp just so she can give a goodbye to her mother. She would have almost certainly survived if she received treatment where she was injured. Here’s a note, if you ever see someone with a severe injury, never move them unless there is an immediate danger of them being injured further.

It is funny that this book features 2 scenes where Lionblaze intentionally lets himself be beaten up, only to then be yelled at.
Firstly there's that Ratscar moment, but there's also a scene with Brightheart where he "shows" Brightheart and Daisy how good queens are at protecting their kits. He does it by pretending to attack one of Bright's kits resulting in Brightheart whooping him and Daisy yelling at him for attacking a child.
Ratscar is such an awful cat. Lest we forget he started whining about having to sign an oath of loyalty. Buddy, you betrayed your entire Clan and it is only because of clunky writing that you weren't turned into a carcass on the spot.

When I read that stupid “and Nightcloud encouraged you” line as a kid, I liked Nightcloud more out of sheer spite.
Right? The worst part is that his only interactions with his son that we saw beforehand was just him talking crap about about Breezepelt to his face. Jeez, dude. Chill.

@@imaginarylivingbody7154 Yeah, I was gonna bring that up and how with us only really seeing other people's povs it definitely doesn't bode well for Breezepaw's childhood, but I had just woken up from a nap and wasn't sure how to word it how I wanted to. It's especially upsetting how when Breezepaw didn't have other older Windclan warriors near, he was significantly easier to interact with (not quite nice, but less bitter,) and that breaks my heart because holy crap, I don't think he had many cats in the clan besides his mother who actually cared about him. It makes me really sad. :[

Yeah he’s stubborn and abrasive but he does seem to have friends his age in WindClan and bonded with Holly and Lion during the journey to the mountains. Crowfeather had a bad influence on him, the writing makes that clear, but Crowfeather blames it on Nightcloud and the readers just believe him and blame the only woman in the situation.

The big difference is that Crowfeather is his parent. He repeatedly ignored, belittled, and even hit him on one occasion. Crowfeather’s poor treatment of his son is what pushed him to the Dark Forest.

This is an incredible video and absolutely the apex of the I Spoil series for me. I feel like you got the balance perfect with this one, helped by the dramatic nonsense of the book itself. It's super funny and also pretty exciting and genuinely touching all at once, and neither the story nor comedy drags at all. It's a perfect climax. Amazing work

This is the last WC book I fully read. Honestly one of the best endings I could think of for the series to end as a whole. I feel like after Firestar, things weren’t the same and the quality of the books declined because I just couldn’t get into the new characters. Maybe I should try to read DOTC if I get the chance. Anyway, rlly happy you FINALLY did this video! I love watching the I spoils lol bc they’re hilarious.
The Last Hope was the last book from "modern day" I read too! I felt (at the time) that I just didn't need to know anything more after that. The character who was our intro to the world died, it was a nice pretty bow with some neat themes. I did read DOTC after that, because I honestly thought it would be the last WC series. Hahahahahahahahahahahaha, boy was I wrong. I totally recommend it, I honestly think it's my favorite arc out of all of them! Plus, it's really nice to have characters with no attachment to the characters and less of the pitfalls of modern warrior cats culture. I haven't read any of the books since, for much the same reasons you stated.

I’ve just been swamped with work recently and would need the ability to go to my library often to read at a consistent pace (though I just got off for Christmas), but I’ve heard DOTC is good, so maybe I will eventually find time! I’m sure theres definitely some e-books somewhere since that’s how I read most of the series during quarantine.

As someone who has not read TLH since late 2019 and only remembers being devastated when Hollyleaf died, I am taking this summary as fact. Bumblestripe telling Dovewing about the Star Wars prequels is now canon.
