How much weight can you remove from your GS? (no tool weight reduction)

How much weight can we actually pull out of these things with no tools and does it even make a difference? You be the judge. I would say weight removal is much more pronounced for a normally aspirated 2GS with an auto trans, but you can definitely feel it even with forced induction. So how much weight did I actually get out of this thing with no tools? You'll have to watch!

The new gear in your merchant shop looks awesome, Christian! And lol, I added about 94 lbs of 3/4" MDF, 12" subs, and 1600 watts of amps to my 2GS! I am, however, considering removing the rear seats, to allow more bass flow into the cabin. The trunk on this car is a bass trap, and the largest contributor is the thick padding in the rear seats!
My Arc Angel lithium 12V battery saves about 30 lbs over the previous AGM battery.

Thanks for thoughtful comments, as usual. That’s some serious stereo gear! I agree, even my 100% stock system still hits pretty hard during the right song - enough to make the kids laugh anyway. 😆

Now you’re getting serious. I had a gs430 and is300 that I did similar things on. Definitely adds up and it’s fun

Don’t tell anyone, but I put everything back in. The car has plenty of power but I was always curious about weight. 😎

The issue I ran into was that these cars are heavy in the front. I’m thinking a carbon fiber hood and battery relocation would help with the wheel spin. Move weight from the front to the back

I got my shirt. Love it. The weight saving is surprising.

Can you do a tutorial on how to fix a speedometer that isnt working

I’ll consider it. Most likely a bad wheel speed sensor or tone ring. You’ll need a special scanner to determine which corner it is (or multiple).

@@ForwardMomentum idk what it is I connected and obd sensor and it picked up the speed when I was moving but it's not showing on the dash and my miles don't ever change 😭

@@danielarsonit has to be a bad WSS or tone ring. In case you’re wondering, it won’t be a Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) because those don’t measure and send speed as an output to your speedo/odo (case in point I don’t run any VSS’s after my manual swap and my speedo works perfectly). Definitely focus on your WSS’s…

@@ForwardMomentum I forgot to say it showed "input/turbine" speed sensor "A" circuit".

Well, in that case I suppose it could be a VSS, but that really makes no sense to me. There are 2 VSS’s on the trans, both are pretty easy to get to and held in by one bolt. I still have my 2 original VSS’s in a box in fact. You can test them using a DMM. Just seems strange that would be the only issue here…
