The thrift store is full of basic items-not broken, not ugly-just “okay.” In today’s video, I take 12 of those ordinary thrift store finds and upcycle them into unique and stylish home decor. These items include a 1970’s candelabra and small brass plates, a frame with an inspirational phrase, a small wicker basket, a plastic alarm clock, a faux framed tile, a wicker vase, a small gold frame, framed medallions, a brass lamp with no shade, a Big Lots decorative storage box, and outdated books.

Shut the front AND back doors! Your creativity knows no bounds. I think when you are purchasing things at a thrift store you have the freedom to do whatever you want with them! It doesn't matter if someone didn't approve of what you did, I hate when people give thrifters a hard time over these things. If they don't approve of something you did, then they can go and purchase their own thrifted items and do what THEY think is best. Don't listen to them, you are a creative genius. Every single one of these things today was so cute and quaint! I love what you did with the lamp, making a shade of a doily! What a cool idea! The little birds in the picture frames were so cute. Honestly, it was all amazing! 💖💖💖💖💖

Agreed. Items are sitting in a thrift store-maybe they’ll sell maybe not. At least making them over they may get a few more years loved-instead of going to a landfill. Do these people realize how much brass, silver items in the thrift stores- that don’t sell?? Gees-everyone is a critic. Do what you want. You always do a lovely job.❤️

What the heck….is this be nasty to crafter month? About six or so crafters that I watch are getting nasty or rude comments . If you can’t be nice, just go to different videos until you find something you like. No comments necessary!

I really can't get over the antique (vintage at least) tea towel in the basket, it's so beautiful. I really love the vase, green with floowers is definitely the look for it. My favorite already is the dragonfly pin on the picture frame. Dragonflys are important to my family. After my son passed we saw many in our front yard and they have been symbolic as we remember my beautiful son.
I love the old clock with an old photo replacing the clock face. I got a 5"×7" photo of my great-grandmother and an old, black mantel clock from Grandma's house while my sisters and I went through Mom's estate last week. Now I know what to do. Thank you for the inspiration!

As always I can never choose just one as my favourite. I liked the Delft tile (7) and the woven basket (8) but then you did the brass plates (10) 😊and I liked those as well. I think if I had to choose one the brass plates would win as they would go best in my own home. Thank you for taking the time to continue sharing your seemingly endless talent with us.

There were so many great projects again! I really love the clock on the candelabra parts, it's so cool! I am a paper artist and a huge trend is Steam Punk. If you would have used an old gauge image for the clock face and added a little metal finial at the top and made it grungy, I would have bought it! I love anything that is old, metal and unusual! But it's fabulous just the way it is! The lamp with the doily shade really surprised me in a good way! It turned out so well! And I really love the Dragonfly pin project. Thank you for always making Monday afternoon something to look forward to! 😊

@@CanterburyCottagefinding the "cherry on top" after you finish a project happens to me more often than not. I make journals for Cancer patients and it took me a while to come up with a design that could work for both men and women. Every time I made one in the early days I was always wishing I had added to or subtracted something. I learned to just love the process! I've made over 150 journals this past year and a half and it never gets old. I'm giving back. They were there for me when I was undergoing chemo for Triple Negative Breast Cancer. I found the perfect way to do it! As long as I'm still here, I will do it. God placed it on my heart.
My favorite was #10! The little brass plates with the pictures and felt bows. But they were all beautiful and unique! ❤

Thank you so much, Patti! It is so funny because I saw that faux framed tile at the thrift store for weeks, and I kept wondering why no one bought it. I actually wanted to keep it for myself, too, but I try to only keep one or two things each week.
