Real Madrid had the stars, but Dortmund had the team chemistry and tactical discipline. You can have a dream team, but it won't never beat a team united by strong root of Football!!!
Both top German team whooped the Spanish dream teams (Real Madrid & FC Barcelona) in both legs to reach the final and there were nothing the Spanish teams could do! They were pocketed completely!
Reus, Lewandowski, Gotzë, Gündogan & Błaszczykowski own Madrid midfield and defence to reach the final, which final was one of the best ever!
That was the year of the Germans!
Real Madrid were the unlucky ones to find the strongest ever Dortmund team!

I am a lifelong bayern fan but it saddens me greatly this dortmund team did not win the UCL. I would've rooted for BVB against any other team! Totally brutal for the Bundesliga that prime bayern and dortmund coincided. But seriously, this team was a joy to watch in so many ways. Gundogan, gotze and especially Reus were pure magic. and Lewandowski wasn't the machine he was today but in some respects he was just as game-changing. Today, he possesses an almost mechanical effectiveness, but back then he had this unbelievable quality of youthful audaciousness that allowed him to singlehandedly win games. ill always remember him scoring a hat trick against bayern in the DFB final in 2012 and his performance against real madrid! Reus truly is a genius of the game and as a german american, knowing we'll never see him reach his full potential with the national team and dortmund will always haunt me. He should be on the Bale, Muller, Benzema tier of legends tbh.
