- Possibly the most exciting young team in recent Champions League years, Ajax came in and showed their class throughout this Champions League campaign and destroyed some of the greatest teams in Europe with style. Young talent accompanied by some experienced players really made this team shine. Hope you guys enjoy this video!

This didnt age well.. anyway he did score plenty but in the vid I realized how many great chances he's missed... Not saying he's bad but Ajax coulda had 2-3 extra goals there. And tbh Ajax we're just super unlucky against totenham, they hit the post like 3 times and thats just unfortunate.

All played amazing football that year. Its fine if any one of them wins because they all played really well. But Ajax was just so surprising, and the football they played were so attractive to audiences. I wouldn't say it was tactically the best, but it was definitely the most attractive in years. In addition, they could be considered underdogs, and I think this combination is what led the world to love this Ajax team so much.

@@Blinkers2007GameDev I mean, as much as I dislike man city for how dominant they became after financial injections, I don't think anyone can say man city doesn't play world class football. Very attractive as well, imo in particular before haaland. I both loved and hated it when they did well in the past. I think pre-haaland, yall played amazing, agile, adaptable football. It felt like anyone could've been a goal scoring threat. With haaland it's become a lil more straightforward, but it's expected with such a prolific goal scorer. But yall still maintained enough flexibility to win the UCL.
Van De Beek was so active in Ajax’s gameplay, to be specific “attacking wise” now Man U are tryna kill that talent. Ten Haag will definitely call him back from Everton and re-ignite his gameplay.
Van de beek was only on a 6 months lone so he will be back in the summer anyways

@@evald5373 Spurs were demons. PSV and Dortmund were thrashed. Spurs came 2nd in group stage barely passing Inter going to knockouts at away goals. Then Showed Man City their place in semi finals by winning at aggregate 4-4. Then Lucas Mours magic happened. Whatever they touched turned into gold but in finals Liverpool decided to park the bus after getting early lead.
DVB, Ziyech, De Ligt, Frankie De Jong , Tadic are all superstars now. What a brilliant team this was ! Really miss the way DVB used to play

What a team. They said that this year Ajax would replicate that feat, but I never believed it. That time they had De Ligt, de Jong and Van de Beek, three superb players who made the difference. In goal, the crevasse was also clear. Onana was top notch then, but he’s completely out of form and that showed against Benfica; his incompetent replacement, Pasveer, also screwed up in the first leg. Players like Blind and Tadić, despite retaining their brilliance, are in their thirties and not as potent as they were in 18/19. The absence of Neres must be noted too. He was far from his 18/19 form but was an important player even off the bench. An uninspired Antony in both legs of this year’s RO16 proved fatal for the Dutch side (against a Benfica theoretically weaker than the 2018 version they overcame). Ten Hag will leave, but Ajax are a great club and I hope that they can indeed replicate this one day. Watching them play back then, especially that banger against Real, was simply astonishing

Dušan Tadić was in Zidane-Kaka GOD PRIME mode performance at second leg R16 in Madrid, he was rate 10 on Sofascore after that match. It's a big shame for that second leg with Tottenham, Ajax deserve that CL final much more than Spurs, they was so unlucky, Spurs were so lucky for Lucas Moura inspiration that night. If Ajax eventionally made it to the final, i think they could win against Liverpool.
Fun fact, De Ligt was captaining this squad at 19 yrs old.

Essa equipe já tinha começado a dar sinais desde a campanha da Europa League da temporada 2016/2017, onde eles chegaram a decisão da competição contra o Manchester United de MOURINHO, de Ibrahimovic, Pogba, Mikitarian e CIA.
Perderam a final, mas por MUITO pouco não chegaram a decisão da maior competição européia duas temporadas seguintes!
Foi por MUITO pouco, se NÃO fosse o forte time do Tottenham Spurs e de um Lucas Moura inspirado naquela noite, certeza eles terem chegado a final contra os reds do Liverpool, não saberemos se eles teriam ganhado, mas teriam feito a final depois de 24 anos da última decisão da equipe holandesa!
