I don’t even ride, but the idea of that big bike presence on the road together with comfort, power and tech seems like the safest way to enjoy motorcycling…

Put 100 miles on the 2021 K1600 today, your review is pretty much spot on, this bike only had 445 miles on it, saw another review which mentioned back pressure when the screen was all the way up which I did feel the first time I raised the screen which is like some wind pushing you forward, but it seemed like it depended on wind speed and direction, not a deal killer, my first bike with quick shifter, smooth as silk except if you're lazy going from 1st to 2nd it could end up in neutral, no big deal, reverse gear is nice to have moving around in the garage, took the antenna off, good machine...

I’ve had my Bagger for a year and it is everything I need and want in a bike; fast, comfortable, hugely well equipped, drop dead gorgeous looks…I upgraded the windscreen to a taller one which improves the wind protection enormously! If you find an ex-demo for sale, chances are it’ll be fully loaded with all the extras such as the foot boards which are fantastic on long runs! Btw, the USB port in the right pannier does charge your phone, or other device, very handy indeed on long trips! Finally, unless you have a huge melon head, a full face helmet WILL go in the panniers, I do it all the time when I don’t want to carry it around all day.

Great review……I’ve got one coming next week and although my test ride felt really positive, given I’m moving across from a string of Boxer engined BMW’s and trading my glorious one year old 1250RT…….I’ve been racked with self doubt about have I made the right decision. Your experience and video narrative was extremely positive and calmed my nerves it’s going to be a great choice of bike….thanks 😉

Wow, what great review of a great motorcycle !
I just loved both the review and the bike !
Amazing how BMW manages to make such a motorcycle. Very impressed and very much want to own sometime in future/near future.
    - Very good information
    - Very good drive.
    - Very good realistic perspective.
    - Very good, direct narration.

    Hi GT
Nice review totally agree. I had nice long test ride on B. 1 1/2 years later I have just done deal for K16 GTSE 2018 and get it Wednesday. The B was not quite for me but GT is. Funny enough getting it from Allan Jeffrey's. Simon done a great walk round and been so good with it all, totally recommend AJ they gave good fair price for my bike not like some others.... This is my first distance purchase as I am 5 hours away down in southwest.

Great review, just traded in my 22 Rocket 3GT on the same bike you reviewed, put 10k on the Rocket, love it but trying to check all the boxes, BMW was just delivered, haven't ridden it yet, wish BMW had made the bags removable with a quick disconnect for the signals, between the bags and huge silencers the rear wheel maintenance looks to be a challenge

I’ve owned a K1600 bagger for a couple of years and really enjoy it. Yes the dash is dated but it does a lot that my other bikes don’t. The panniers actually do take open and full face helmets but not flip-front. I considered the Goldwing bagger which is also a lovely machine but the Goldwing panniers are much too narrow for any type of helmet and that was a deal breaker. Definitely recommend the K1600B!

Hello Sir, from South Africa 🇿🇦. Loved your review on this fine machine. I purposely bought a 22 model GT, not the LCI model. I think this bike will become an icon and a bike to collect, in the not too distant future.
I prefer the classics dials, and becuase the new model does not have active cruise control, imo its not worth the extra dough.
I think that becuase all manufacturers are moving to smaller capacity engines, it's a keeper.
that inline 6, is like nothing else.
    ride safe Sir

It’s a beautiful bike for sure I’m looking at the Grand America maybe next year. But there are rumours they might be dropping this model all together 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️ I follow a mechanic that works on BMW’s he’s at one of the busiest BMW dealers in the western USA, he mentioned there are rumours it may be dropped from the line. He’s had to work on lots of issues on this model over the last year especially full transmission rebuilds. I have the Trophy SE in western Canada and I’ve had zero issues but it’s tough getting these European bikes serviced here!!! I paid $1800 for the 32,000 km valves service in Canada just crazy prices. Ride safe nice to see a full review 👍👍👍👍

I keep hearing the panniers are not big enough for a full face helmet. Turn the helmet on it’s side and it fits in, close side and hey presto the helmets in the pannier . I have a SCHUBERTH and I pop it into a cloth cover before putting it into the pannier . Go on give it a try.

Great review…I think a long time between buying a 1250RT and the 1600 bagger for finally choosing the 1250 . The reason behind was my day to day uses. Driving more on small roads than highways and weight for my size 5 ‘ 6 . I really like the engine sound compare to the boxer who is really horrible at low speed or when climbing mountains road. Don’t get me wrong I like driving my 2021 1250RT but the engine sound need an ajustement and I am not used to it yet.
Question, I am trying to find an helmet that will block the wind sound in my ears. I drive my bike mostly with open helmet I have a LS2 Valiant 399 modular and the wind is very disturbing. Is your helmet modular ? If yes when riding is it good for the wind noises ? Maybe someone know what I am looking for. Thanks again

WTF!!! That consumption is excellent. On my Yamaha FJR1300 I get an average of 6.4 L/100Km (36.7523 mpg). I do however have a very "aggressive" riding style... some times...
I think I need to wait for the 2022 K1600 Grand America and find a way to get the money for the damn thing.

Just purchased a 21 K16B GA. Wondering if you have had any “twitchy-ness” at highway speeds. If so, were you able to alleviate with tire pressure, different windscreen, tire brand or…? Any preference for pre-load on suspension or tour vs. road? I love the new bike, but need to figure out this very strange, but clearly prevalent issue with dirty air and nuisance “instability”. Thanks!

Based purely on riding pleasure long distance on highways as well as curvy roads I would choose BMW K1600 series over any other bike.
But because of the reliability issues and lack of dealerships in the US.
I would have to go with the Indian Challenger.
The Honda Goldwing and the Yamaha FJR would have to be a close second place.
Because of BMWs lack of reliability and lack of dealerships and how complicated it is to service anything on your own it would fall to at least a distant fourth choice.
