    This is just the video I was hoping to find, after looking everyone on CZcams. I just picked up my first ever RC car, a Slash 4x4 VXL, I love it, and want to take good care of it from the beginning.

    A few times i used the shower sprayer on my hose when my slash was used on a damp grassy field. Rinsed off but didnt flood the electronics area or center diffs. Then used my shop air compressor till truck was dry. Then used some lube in key areas. No rust no fuss. Clean as can be! However I do like the silicone spray. May give parts of my truck a light spray.

    Good vid, just FYI, WD40 is non conductive so it wont harm electrical components. Even so, I 100% agree that it makes a good surface for debris to stick to.

    Simple green water and an air compressor works just fine as long as it's dried it will not harm anything. I've literally taken a water hose sprayed it completely down then dried it completely and not 1 issue using water.

    Purchased a case of product based on seeing the success you had. Great Video. However after using it on my ARRMA 6s KRATON I noticed a milky white substance especially where parts are joined. On the bottom of chassis, paint is actually softened and scrapes off with a finger nail ???? I am sure that I dried and wiped the surfaces, but this side effect won't work for me.

    Traxxas recommends using a all purpose cleaner and rinse with water then take your blower and blow water off then do what I do run a blow dryer over car dries everything 10 minutes done

      What kind of all purpose cleaner??

    • @4WheelRC
      @4WheelRC Před rokem +2

      @@wolfboy20 Disassemble, wash all plastics in dish soap and water. Hinge pins, bearings can be dunked in break cleaner for thorough cleaning but, be sure to lube the bearings afterwards. Using any of these auto products on these plastics likely is not a good or the best idea (especially things like wd-40) because many of these contain solvents which in the end makes plastic brittle. Hair dryer is a good idea after a quick cleaning and for making old plastic look new because most plastics are petroleum based and the heat pulls the oils back to the surface and rejuvenates the plastics but, keep water away from your bearings,....sealed or not...
      Really though and if you want to do things right. Tear your cars down and clean them properly after every 10 or so packs. This also lets you check for damages or issues that in the future cause bigger problems if not taken care of. Just my thoughts and thank you for the video, I do believe the product you have chosen is probably one of the safer products. Dry lube in the spray cans for bike chains is something else I think might be a fairly safe lubricant that repels dust and debris..

      @@4WheelRCRyan Harris uses silicone spray and if he says it then I’ll take the suggestion for what it’s worth. Everything else you said pretty much makes 100% although I would be careful with heating plastics though since it’s a very temporary effect and you don’t want to melt anything
