    Great tips! Thank you so much in explaining the difference between the shock oil weights. I drive a Slash2WD at my local track. Will start to experiment with different weights to help with driving performance.

    You can also mix different weight oils to achieve your desired result.

    Question, need advice: I own an Arrma Big Rock and just bit the bullet and got the proline shocks. I live in Florida where it is always hot so I am going to have to test different oil weights to see which is the best for me. My question is, what weights should I buy to test with? I already have 60 & 35 weight. Which other weights should I get? Thanks in advance.

    So I got a pretty big dirt track. 8 foot wide lanes. 40 second lap time. I'm using the losi db pro. We got a quad and 3 other jumps, with whoops. Not super huge but pretty big. What should I use. 50? Since I'm jumping??

    Great video. Since I'm new to this hobby I was hoping you'd answer a question.
    I bought an Arrma Vorteks rc car for my young son for Christmas and one of the stock shock shafts broke on his second battery pack. At that point I had to learn all about shocks, how they're supposed to work and how to rebuild them. Anyway, I'd now like to upgrade his shocks to somethong better than the pastic stock ones but I'm having a hard time finding the same stock size in an aftermarket shock. The shocks he has now are 87mm front and 109mm back. Can I purchase slightly longer or shorter shocks that will still fit his truck.
    I realize this video is a year old but I'd appreciate any help you could offer.

      90mm for the front. 110mm for the rear. Hundreds of options for those lengths. You should be just fine.

    Good information. My slash 2wd has the big bore shock kit and I also have an ultimate 4x4 slash. I have the springs really compressed to stop them both from bottoming out that my shocks aren’t doing anything.
    What do you suggest?

    • @surfside75
      @surfside75 Před 3 lety +2

      50-80 weight. I'm having the same issues with my Losi Baja Rey raptor 3S basher.

    • @diamandt5598
      @diamandt5598 Před 3 lety

      Compressing the springs by turning the springscrew down, doesn‘t stop bottoming out because it does not effect the spring rate. It just gives you a different ride hight. So if you are always bottoming out, you need a higher spring rate!
