- A driver fleeing police on the Fourth of July caused major damage to a beloved Selma store, Surf N Turf. Surveillance footage captured the dramatic scene as the car barreled down East Anderson Street, knocking down a light pole before slamming into the decades-old lawn mower business. Joseph Arant and Matt Pearce, who have owned the shop for years, were shocked to see the damage.
The store was closed for the holiday, and fortunately, all employees were off and out of the building. The driver, identified as 37-year-old Tyrone Jones, is the man behind the wheel of that grey Hyundai captured on video. Jones can be seen jumping out of the car after the crash.

Oh, poor business owner, this was NOT carelessness; this was pure and simple “do what you want” (#45) mindset. How unfortunate what was unleashed years ago.
