  • I go over step-by-step how to remove the deck off of your riding mower in case you need to change the deck belt, remove the blades, or just clean it. I am using a Troy-Bilt Bronco but should be similar for most other riding mowers.

The step by step explanation is pure gold. Describing the function of each part helps to form a full understanding. Lifesaver.

I think my favorite thing about your videos is that your mower looks like a REAL mower...from the grime and grass under the deck, right down to the bungee cord on the gear shifter! That's a mans mower! Thanks for all the helpful vids Andrew!

Nice clear illustration of R&R of the Deck. I assume same manufactured dec! Interchange like taking off a 42" & replacing with a 48" or 50" when both came off a Troy-bilt. Might want to mention that in the video. Thank You

Nice video,I have a 2009 Bronco, basically the same but a little different. On mine,if you loosen that bar nut that covers the pulley on the bottom of the engine, you can push it far enough outta the way to get the belt past it.Just saying.1 less thing to remove.I "ve had to change every belt and a few pulleys multiple times in the 14 years I've owned it.These tractors are no fun to work on.Guess thats why the owners manual recommends scrapping it after 7 years. Not gonna happen unless the engine blows, which I"m suprised hasn"t happened. These Kohler Courage are considered "bucket" engines.Cheaply made.

I totally disagree on Kohler being junk! Mine runs great after 7 years of use. I run Mobil 1 synthetic and the engine runs great!
I do the normal maintenance on it once a year when I Winterize it. This video is great and thank you for sharing it!
A little update! I bought a new JD S120 42” cut with the 22 Hp JD engine which if I’m not mistaken is a Predator motor.
I paid a premium for the JD but I find my Troy Bilt cuts the grass better! Yes my Troy Bilt cuts the lawn and it comes out much better. I was quite disappointed. I only bought a JD because of all the reviews saying they are so reliable and comfortable which it is but I have to figure out why the Bronco cuts my lawn better!
If anyone has suggestions please share because I’m quite bummed out! Don’t get me wrong the JD is a better made machine but still it should do as good if not better to cut my lawn. John Deere also needs to make a seat with high back and arm rests for the S series riding mowers. I modified a fork lift seat for my Troy Bilt and again it’s more comfortable than my JD! If anyone is in the market for a JD with 7 years on it contact me here on YT try to direct message me! I’m firm on the price because of so little use.

This is almost what I’m looking for. My super bronco deck doesn’t raise up on the right side. Left side raises up fine, right side doesn’t raise. Do you have a video showing that problem or at least talks about the mechanism?

Thanks for the video. It helped me get my old Troy-Bilt back running. I had to replace the blades and a pully assembly on mine. I have two questions. Q1: Sometimes my belt jumps off the pulleys when changing cutting height. Why? Belt is too old and stretched too much? Q2: do you have to have a clip holding the cable/ spring in place? Mine seems to be staying in place without it. Appreciate if you have the time to reply. Understand if you're to busy.

Hi, I'm so glad I could help you! 1) I had that problem once when I didn't double check my crankshaft belt guide (front of mower) was around the belt on both sides. So guides are right I would think yes the belt should be replaced. 2) that cable is for engaging the blade so it probably won't cause any problems not having it I wouldn't think.

      @@GiordanosGarage np!
If I could provide you with a shortcut, I raise the deck to get on the lift then once the mower is in the air I lower the deck to its lowest setting this allows me to work the belt off the PTO pulley and move the belt out of the way so I can pull the pins and drop the deck with a floor Jack. I then slide it out from underneath flip it on its side and the rest is easy peasy!
Putting it back up isn’t so so be ready to finagle the deck back into place. I reversed my process of reconnecting the belts and no problem!
