Vauxhall Astra 2012 | Opel Astra P10 J Sixth Generation 2009 to 2016
diesel filter location is next to fuel tank and it easy to work on. when removing the filter you will need 36mm socket and a long bar to unscrew it and when putting it back together us torque tool so you don't over tighten it. Also when starting the car, make sure you turn the ignition on and off 3 or more for 30sec each time so the fuel filter can fill up. when the car starts keep the revs up for 3/5sec. if it cuts out then you have a problem. you just gotta keep cranking and accelerating to get it running. if all of that fails call AA (recovery serivces) lol.

Brilliant tutorial mate, great advice on the long bar and the rotation of the seal, going to attempt my 1.7cdti after watching this 👍
Perfect just what I needed to see thanks for making this video will be doing my filter later today
Thanks very much for the guide!
Good job, good information mate.
Bossman thanks for tutorial!!
The length of the bar has no bearing on the forces exerted on the plastic bracket etc. The length of the bar simply makes it easier for the person doing it.
Thank you so much !
thanks for the help :)
Great video 👍
Legend, cheers👌👍
Hi, good video. Will I need to put more petrol in the tank before starting?
I have a 1,7 diesel, do i have to bleed the system from the enginebay?
Hi I have astra j 17 cdti I need to change valve cover gasket and the qestion is how to bleed the fuel on the end (there is not pomp in the tank)???
Can you tell please what happens with the fuel that drained out, if you put it back in the fuel tank of the car? Thank you.
Does the petrol Astra j have a fuel filter?
If when you change the fuel filter it takes a little bit to start could that mean theres an air leak somewhere there isn't any leaks though of liquid around the housing lid or the centre bung, that's why I'm thinking air.
How much cost change manual to auto
Got a 2013 Astra j 2.0 CDTI same process I assume mate ?
Great tutorial btw cheers
I guess it should be the same. Once you replace the fuel filter, Switch ignition on (10sec) and off few times so the fuel filter can fill up. Thanks and all the best.

Hey, would you know where the fuel filter is located in Vauxhall Astra 2008? Also Vauxhall Zafira 2004?
Thanks
Shawn
Hi Shawn, the fuel filter location for a Vauxhall Astra 2008 is underneath the car, near the fuel tank. It is typically mounted along the fuel line.
As for the Vauxhall Zafira 2004, the fuel filter is located near the rear axle, on the right-hand side of the vehicle.
Please note that the locations provided are based on general information and may vary depending on the specific model and variant. It's always a good idea to consult the vehicle's manual or seek professional assistance if you're unsure.
Thanks
I don't know if this car is a diesel engine but on the cdti there is no uplift pump so you have to bleed by disconnecting the blue stripped fuel pipe behind the front of the engine and priming fuel from that pipe with a 10mm hose for example.
I've got a 2011 1.7CDTI would I have to do it on that as ran out off Diesel whilst on the drive been stud for over a year now just won't start it starts with easy start then cuts out thanks Tony
Would I do this on a 2011 1.7 CDTI
@@slk290 I don't know what you mean by run out of the diesel whilst on the drive but yes you cas start by priming/removing fuel by the pipe and use some starting fluid. Check if there is fuel coming out from steel fuel pipe next to the injectors. Replace the fuel filter if not done yet. Most importantly, check your car with a proper diagnostic computer/tool to see what the issue is. There could be a broken sensor, pipe (DPF differential pressure sensor GM 55566186). See if this pipe is not broken or burned. Most of the time this pipe will burn because the car can't regenerate automatically and clean the dpf (because of a bad glow plug in general), therefore creating excessif pressure and break/burn this pipe and not starting. Also clean the egr valve and the dpf, by removing it and cleaning it.
JAY MY FREIND HAS VAUXHALL ZARFIA 1.7 ECOFLEX ITS WAS RUNNING JAY BUT STOPPED A FEW MONTHS AGO I HAVE REPLACED THE FUEL FILTER UNDER NEATH THE BONNET JAY ITS TRYING TO START BUT NO LUCK I THINK IT COULD BE THAT FILTER OR THE GLOW PLUGS WILL HES CAR JAY HAVE THAT DIESEL FUEL ON THE REAR DRIVER SIDE I LOOKED ON THE PASSENGER SIDE CARNT SEE ANY THING
Hello mate, did the entire tank drain through the filter, or just the contents of the filter? I was just trying mine and it felt like it was never gonna stop coming out
Hi, it’s just fuel which in the fuel filter and yea it does take forever 😂 because the first time I did I was confused.
@Taj Motor Medics thanks mate. Got the filter swapped, did the 30 seconds priming thing for 3 goes, but then car cut out after running and now won't restart. Do I need to manually prime?
@@mroskams hi you can cheat it if your battery is strong? do the same again (ignition on for 30 seconds and off) 3 times and fourth turn start with acceleration but remember don’t go over 5k revs keep it at 4 once started keep the revs up for the fuel to push through. Hope it works. Thanks
This is why I hate diesels 😂
