So glad skateboarding has Bobby Puleo. Yes, as he pointed out, now a days the rules are out the door, but it doesn’t mean they never existed. I’m glad we are getting his take on skateboarding as his skating has inspired what is going on now. Big fan

i respect this dude, but he's a bit too territorial about skating and his impact in skating. i get it though. it's just weird because there's tons of other skaters out there who have contributed way more to skating and are humble/ barely acknowledge it, so its just weird to see the like other extreme end of the spectrum
The comparison between skating a spot and painting over an existing piece of graffiti is far from apt. A new piece of graffiti will physically cover the old, while any amount of tricks can be done at a spot without such occurrence, and any eclipsing is purely subjective. Sounds narcissistic and delusional to think people cannot go do whatever the fuck they want at any spot. "I did it/skated it first, so you are NOT ALLOWED to one-up me or skate the same spot" IS neurotic, and other people are under no obligation to cater to such delusions. Josh Stewart was thinking about the video yeah, and not just you Bobby - the fact it causes distress that you couldn't give your best within the time frame you had at that spot is on you, you have to accept it and move on... Acting like you should have the authority to dictate what a pro skater, skating the city THEY LIVE IN, can or cannot do, as an outsider, is so fucking delusional.
I wish more people had as much structure and respect for certain aspects in the skate world past, present and future. Also this his him thinking allowed not trying to set laws of the land that everyone has to abide to.
I think these ego rules are intended for film/video only. It’s more for the art of documentarion. Imo that’s why Bobby is burnt on the matter. I view the Static videos and ones like it as art and hopefully a reference for skaters who pay attention,
