Regardless of where you're skating there's going to people that get mad at you, it's definitely not just a US thing (exactly the same thing happens in the UK, especially in London). Skating is loud and causes damage, once you add that to the fact that there's loads of angry dicks in the world there's bound to be problems
To be fair, as a skateboarder myself, sometimes non-skateboarders like the old dude at the end make a valid point. Old dude was speaking reason in the beginning, and lets face it, skateboarders are disruptive and fuck shit up. Gotta be objective sometimes, its partly why we picked up a skateboard in the first place.
