This is a great PC. Best keyboard layout of all the PC's you have reviewed so far. The spacing between the letter keys is very good. Full size ten key. Display is excellent. Memory soldered in is not their best idea. The web cam could use some improvement. The built in MIC is okay and had very little distortion. Better than Dell's internal microphone. Also there is still some confusion on the Thunderbolt ports. Isn't it amazing that when you go on HP's web site to select the HP 15t with the I7-10750H processor and select the option to look at the specs it indicates that it only has one thunderbolt port. (Is it one or two thunderbolt ports?). I think HP needs to get their documentation better clarified so purchasers can know what they are actually buying. Their website is too confusing to use when spending this kind of money for this machine.
If one orders this machine from HP I would call them and verify what you are buying instead of relying on the web site for the specs. Again another great review.

Excellent review - I've been binge watching your stuff resulting in dreams about laptop reviews. This will likely be my go to once I see sales during holiday season unless there's something better on the market by then. 15" OLED display (something comparable to Samsung's QLED stuff which I would go for if not for their trash speakers), d-GPU, and good speakers are my main must-haves! Something with those items with an AMD processor though...oof it would be over then.

Nice review. HP Spectre X360 looks really impressive. I like the fact that it includes legacy ports. I wonder what kind of battery life you'd get with the 400nit IPS screen? How is the reflectivity of the screen? BTW, I use the Lenovo X1 carbon as my daily driver and it has a small track pad but not once have I ever found myself thinking "if only I had a larger track pad I could do X or Y better". I know it's important for some but personally I don't see the advantage of a large track pad but it's a reasonable observation to point out.

Would the 340 nits version have the same battery life as the 400 nits 4k model? How much difference in brightness is there between the two? Unfortunately Best buy only has the 340nits and OLED versions. As much as I want the OLED version I have been a victim of OLED burn-ins too often so I am scared to go with a laptop as I spend a lot of hours writing. My second choice is the 400nits but best buy doesn't offer it so I am stuck with the 340 nit version. I would buy directly from HP but their return policy and customer serivce is too much of a headache. I have also been hearing a lot about Quality Control issues. Sorry for the lengthy comment. Third Comment. Just purchased this machine on sale from Best Buy (EB0053DX)today for $1,599.99 plus tax (Normally $1,999.99). Same Specs as yours. The internal camera is a 720 a downgrade from the older models which had a 1080 camera. Display is beautiful. Keyboard layout is excellent and feel is good. The PC runs considerably warmer probably due to the more powerful processor and graphics built into it. Suggest you download the latest Bios for this machine if it is not already installed as it supposedly improves fan control. I like the improved physical design over previous models. Again great review. Keep it up.

Thanks for the great review! How does the durability of an OLED compare to the durability of a 4 K? With heavy use, how long until it starts to degrade? Is the battery replaceable? Are there any quality AMD OLED 13 - 15" laptops? How is the OLED Envy? Which PC screen is the closest to a Retina display? Is there an easy to pop on & off glare guard for the Spectre? Glare is a big problem for me, which is why I like the Retina display so much.

I am also wondering. He skips Alot of important tests unfortunately. This feels more like a commercial display/hp representative display, than a true review that tests both its strength and weakneses. I asked him to test more things this time around but he completely ignored it. Oh well he has no obligation to care for his viewers opinions I guess xD

The battery is replaceable but you will have to pry off the rubber feet to unscrew the bottom cover and they may not glue back on, no there isn't any AMD OLED laptops on the market atm, Nobody has reviewed the OLED Envy yet but i assume it has the same Samsung screen as the spectre, Apple's Retina displays are LCD based and OLED is far superior than LCD panels (except for brightness, this is why Retina displays have minimal glare), OLED panels take quite awhile to degrade and should not start having burn in unless you leave it on with still images but I'd give it 5-10 years typical.

Do you know if the yoga can be calibrated for better color, on par with the Spectre?

Hi Andrew. I have a Biiiiig question. There's an Envy x360 with Ryzen 4500u BUT it's the 15 inch model. However there isn't SINGLE decent review online? I've been reading that the 15inch model has different ports and different displays? I love how good everyone says the 13inch display but the 15inch looks to be bad in comparison. Do you have any info? I'm interested in a 400 nit 15 inch model but I don't if the color accuracy is the same as the 13 inch model. There's a lot of people like me who want to know! Thank you

Hey, Andrew. Thanks for the awesome review. This is truly an exceptional machine, and I love its value adds. I really wonder why HP didn't offer the refreshed pen in the U.S., as it's on the UK HP website for £70. I do agree that the 16GB RAM is a let down in value, esp when Dell is having so many thin units with upgradeable RAM. Perhaps the one other thing that they missed is allowing for a SIM card module for LTE as there's enough room to stack it under the micro SD slot. Looking forward to the smack down against the Dell in the Livestream. Keep up the awesome work and stay safe👍🏾.

I was wondering if you have had any overheating issues with this laptop. I just received mine exactly one week ago (7/30) and it gets extremely hot. So hot that if you were to use it on your lap, it would be close to burning on bare skin. I downloaded a small app to measure CPU temp and it gets up to 130-140 degrees Fahrenheit. This is just not normal and I'll probably have to return it for service.

Good laptop but still not what I’m looking for... HDMI 2.1 would be necessary for me. Also too expensive... I think HP could’ve narrowed costs if they would’ve went AMD 4000 series like they did with the envy that I think it would destroy this thing in multi core and single core benchmarks and also it might seem like a caprice but as a photographer I need a full Sd card reader.

I will be doing molecular docking a lot, which is basically when you take a computerized version of a protein and see how a drug molecule binds to it. I have only done that on an actual computer, not a PC and on that computer it took me 12 hours to see a result. How well do you think this laptop can handle intense programs? Also, since this review was months ago, how well would you say the computer is doing now?

This is only an issue when HDR is turned on in Windows display setting. No issue when HDR is turned off (e.g. 4k60/2160p60 works fine without HDR). The HDR quality is noticeably better, but the stuttering makes the content unwatchable. I have the same configuration you reviewed! Thanks!

Hello, currently writing this comment with my new HP Spectre 2020, I have been doing multiple experiments with it and when it comes to gaming, I notice the laptop gets really, really hot, especially where the speakers are at, and if sufficient time is spent gaming due to the chassis, the heat can dissipate and expand down to the wrist rest, I saw you didn't mention this in your gaming section so I wonder if its an issue with my personal unit, looking forward on getting some type of feedback.
