Today I bring you the Borresen X1 Speakers. These come in at under $7k with stands but sound and look like $20k + speakers. No hype, these are a true value and an amazing speaker. These offer trickle down technology from the Borresen M1's which are a $100k set of bookshelf speakers.
The design is modern, the tech is modern and the stands are also works for art. These are some of the finest speakers I have had here, and probably the finest bookshelf speakers I have had. Addictive quality to them. So these are my thoughts on the X1 speakers as used with various integrated amps and even seperates. Thanks to Next Level HiFi for sending these over to review. They are the USA dealer for Borresen.
Insane value and if you enjoy the style and looks you will not be disappointed in these gorgeous very special speakers
Enjoy!

Yes, I am aware of the mis-spell in the title screen ; ) Sorry. Borreson, Borresen, Borrenson. You know what I mean ; ) Enjoy!
Hahaha... I'm glad I saw this.. 🙏👍🏻.. You only get 1 error. After that... its a gauntlet. 😝
And it's... Børresen...
yeah, I love thin-film tweeters (amt, planar, ribbon) tweeters.
I have the GoldenEar BRX (amt ribbon tweeters) and if I ever upgrade it would be to the Borreson
Apple Music lossless
Ahh, the new audiophile darling of the moment... here we go, this is all we are going to hear about in the next 6 months, then we will be on to something else.
You are right. And it's over hyped. It's not that amazing really.
I have owned it. Sure, in many ways it's impressive, but it's almost too clean sounding, resulting in a kind of clinical sound.
@@henriksrensen3220 That was quick as the speaker can be owned in the last few weeks. What did You switch to? And what was your source for them?
@@henriksrensen3220 you forgot to say the Audiovector R1 Arreté are better. 😂
@@henriksrensen3220 Hi,what is your speaker right now.
@@teknolojigundemi I got my old speakers back, which are Audiovector R1 Arrete
And what about the Daniel Hertz stuff, you liked so much not long ago?
How do the Marias compare to the Borresens?
Thank you so much for your review, you are my favorite with the British Audiophile reviewer. Keep going, i’ will stay one of your fan ever. Regards, Eric (from south of France 😊)
Great review as always. How would you compair the x1 and the Forte 1 to your Daniel Hertz set up thanks
I auditioned the Z3 couple years ago and was mightily impresssed! X1 flass into my radar and mostly important in price range! Need to auition it. I also heard them with the AAVIK amps which I forgot which one, the overall sound is amazing at the least!
Nice review. Hope you do a review on the Audiovector QR series.

Manufacturers have achieved a state of excellence with almost all types of audio. Once you buy a pair, suggest unsubscribe from all these channels.
Haven’t heard the Borresens yet, but heard a lot of the Raidhos. One of the partner of the Group was related to them and likewise they liked to be 4m apart, or even more. I’m sure they are great speakers!
Never seen a sound room in a solarium
They look so cool🎉
Mission had already this form of bookshelf speakers life 10-15 years back =D for example Mission E52
Nice review. Have you had a chance to compare Borresen X3 with Sopra 3?
I would like to hear the speakers when you review them!!!
How would these compure to something like the Dynaudio Confidence 20's?
I just saw a sale on 2nd hand Sonus Faber Guarneri Evolution speakers at 6990 euros. Would you have these instead of a Dynaudio Heritage Specials? Wich one of those would you choose based on your memory??
How is it in near field listening?
I have plenty of space to the sides but Can they handle being close to a rear wall ?
It's best to build your own speaker stands. I spent like 120 dollars building my own using birch wood. It was well worth the 3 hours of work.
I need those!
Will you be checking-out the X2 or X3’s?
Hi I think if you tried these with the AGD monoblocks class D you would maybe have a perfect match. Not sure which pre amp tbh
Did you ever test with the Daniel Hertz amp?
Great review! I had a chance to listen to these in a few rooms as the recent AXPONA show. Fantastic speakers and forte unit. Even though reasonable price in comparison of high end stuff, probably more than I will am willing to spend on a set up. but who knows. still fun to see reviews and hear in person.
borresen is changing the game - heard the x2 and x3 at axpona and they are all I can think of
... X6 too.. for $22k .. its a monster
No, almost like it's too clean sounding. Cool and clinical.
Thanks
You mentioned you got the speakers from a dealer in Wayne IL... Are you in the Chicago land area?
How does it sound with Maria amp? I don’t think you mentioned.
Some amazing speakers, Alot of nice brands from denmark!
Need to take a look at the Phil Harmonic HT Towers. Hands down one of the best speakers I have ever owned and 4500 a pair.
I have had a chance to hear the BMR Monitors and they sounded great. I can imagine the BMR or HT towers from Harmonic sound even better.
How does it compare with the focal diablo evos you had... from a happiness perspective
Different sound. You have to listen to them both and decide. Also: you should listen to both in your room, with your components and cables.
I’ve been eyeing these. Thanks for the review. What’s the intro song?
How do they compare to the Dutch and Dutch speakers?
Apples to oranges. Merciless to the source and the most neutral monitor, save for Neumann.
I'm glad I don't compete against this new product because it appears that's a tough mountain to climb. It's difficult to calculate how Boresson makes this product in Europe and sells it to dealers in the US for the stated SRP; I'm sure that state of the art materials and production methods help keep the price down. Another benefit is not having to pay an outside vendor markup for the drivers. Remember there are at least some import duties on such products though I don't know the rate. $7k/pr including stands just sounds insanely low for the suggested performance.
Hmmm what about the Alta Audio Alyssa Loudspeaker? ($5000 per Pair [$1000.00 extra for the Rosewood or Birch]) I wonder what the comparison would be?
Alyssa are more musical--non fatiguing for long listening...what i heard anyway...im going Alyssa...till im a millionaire then both...
@@justingriffin2546I heard that they sound _darker_ than the borrosen, because they are Darth Vader helmets but are also powerful; of only you knew
I would love to see a shootout against the PS Audio Aspen FR 5
My goodness, I wouldn't be surprised if they change your life!
Nice who is gonna put them against the Scansonic MB1 that seem to beam a bit and have to be put very wide 🤔
And them put them against the Quadral Chromium 35 and Audiovector QR1 and then Emotiva XB2 or maybe the Martin Logan ESL and Magnepan 🤔
Børresen just released a series above the x1,the C1 but it’s 3 times more expensive.
95 db sn.. and the $100k bookshelf tweeter inside. New woofer tech also
Can't wait to get a pair
What amp are you going to use?
You already have a pair !
Listen to them first.
I owned mine for about 3 weeks before returning them
The woofers look suspiciously like the satori textreme models from SB acoustics.
The "textreme" material looks similar across many drivers, but they aren't all SB acoustics drivers.
I think the cabinets are made in China are they not?
The forte intergraded lack soul and warmth. The opposite of tubes.
should of put polka dots on them, it would make them worth another 2 thousand.
The Audiovector R1 Arrete are better speakers
7K for a pair of bookshelf speakers ? 🤨😂
Stratton acoustics ones are £32k
Make your own for a lot less
$6600 including the stands.
@@Coneman3 … yeah, but law of diminishing returns kicks in early.
@@Coneman3 .. I did make my own. Sounds way better than a $1500 HECO or a $1200 ELAC
all psychological
t's all such nonsense. Everything this guy tests is the best and a week later something else is even better. And it goes on like this. I listened to the Boressen X3 after a review from another guy who thought everything was great. I could listen to it for three minutes and already knew enough. crappy deep thumping bass, didn't sound like anything at all. People, just listen for yourself and draw your own conclusion.
Are the Z1 replaced by X1?
The Z1's are replaced by the new C1's
