Awesome video. I am new to the channel and am really enjoying the content. At about 1:15 mark you discussed load points. You mentioned driving hip forward to maximize energy, “up and drive out”. Is this in reference to the back hip? In the the video it looked like the back hip driving. Is my understanding correct? Is this what some refer to as “drift” or is that something altogether different?
    Thanks

Hello Steve and thank you for the support. To answer the question about driving the hip forward you statement "drift" is correct or another term "float". It's a little hard to show slowed down in explanation, essentially once you lift your front leg start to commit forward with your front hip. I don't train younger pitchers this way though because the balance and strength usually isn't there. Feel free to hit us up if you have anymore questions. Again Thank you.

Thank you for sharing your videos, I've been using the knowledge you're sharing to help coach rec league, so it's much appreciated. Now I'm very curious about the premises I grew up with. I'm 42 now, but I grew up pitching in rec league. I stopped pitching at the beginning of high school because I was topping out at mid 60s. At that time, there was no CZcams or the internet as we know it, so if good mechanics weren't natural, you had to have resources to get coached. After learning more about mechanics in the internet age, I'm now able to see that mine were pretty flawed. The pre-dominant narrative I remember back then was the hard throwers were naturally talented or "they just had it." I recognize natural ability as a thing, but now I'm really curious what your "average" person of my stature (I'm 6' 2" @ 190 lbs ) could reach with proper motions. The kid in me is half tempted to try to find out, lol.

@@ARMPitchingDevelopment That's getting after it. Do you feel that you were mechanically sound in those teen years?
And truly, what a small world it is. I noticed a couple logos in your videos and it turns out you all are in my home town of BSMO, lol, which is where I grew up playing. Amazing. I spent most of my life there but I'm up in northern Idaho now. It's super cool to see your program and facility available to the locals. I'll have to swing by and check it out next time I'm visiting family, my 9 year old will be so mind blown, haha.

How old are you. How good is your mechanics? How strong are you? How fast is your ARM? How focused are you? What does your training look like? All the questions are important and leed to the overall velocity and perceptual velocity by the athlete. Keep educating yourself and asking questions that will lead you to answers you can make informed decisions.

12,good mechanicals, very strong like picking up my 50 pound brother and 40 pound brother, arm is pretty fast, plyo balls after start and bands and like building my legs and arm in the weight room, like I have music stuck in my head in my head during so pretty focused

Good job. Keep working at it and as your body matures and you get taller, bigger, faster and stonger your velocity will jump. Pitching is a jurney, there are no short cuts. Stay focused, you got this buddy.

Hi. I am topping out at 72-73, I have been watching a lot of videos on certain excerises and tips that could lead to faster velocity. If I wanted to reach 80 in 2 months or so what would I have to do.

any way to get clocked without an official baseball speed gun. those things run 100 bucks

I remember some time ago that I found an app for your cell phone that you could hit the button as a start and stop when the catcher caught it and it would calculate an estimate of speed so you might try to look on your app store for a free solution. Best of luck to you buddy Hope you have a great season.

I use this website. I'm assuming I'm within 2-3 mph of being correct. I use it mostly for youth baseball to boast confidence. I error on the faster side for the kids egos.
