Now this is what you watch on Valentine’s Day.
Instead of crying about being alone I'm watching Scott the Woz talking about the Wii like a true chad
Both are made for each other
I watched this video and filed my taxes today. I'm not unhappy but I can be if I want to.
I’m more of a recreational sadsack, I can be depressed whenever I want, watch!
*911, what’s your emergency?*
IM SO LONELY
Hell yeah bröther
AntDude dismissing Animal Crossing so quickly but trying to fight for ExciteBots and Metal Betallion 2 is hysterical
That game had online, so I would wonder if Nintendo would re-add online gameplay to a Wii game that gets re-released, either on a Wii mini or on Switch 2 online.
I'm still laughing at him thinking Nintendo would bother putting in 2 Galaxy games.
@@PotentialLegend They included Super Mario Bros. 1, 2, 3 on the NES and also the original Mario Bros. There's no way Nintendo wouldn't include one of the top rated Wii games on a mini console. It's way more likely to be there than, say, Mario Strikers or Sonic Colours.
And he's right to do so.
Animal Crossing City Folk is known for being the most forgettable and underwhelming release in the series. Was literally just Wild World with barely any innovation
Imagine a Wii classic edition commercial that recreates the "Wii would like to play" campaign, kinda like how the SNES classic edition commercial was an hommage to 90's TV ads
Love those commercials. The two guys rolling up on their little cube car with the wii decal was classic lol
But the characters are extremely small
@@Gameprojordan wee Wii Guys
We already have a Wii Mini
Who remembers the PlayStation Classic and the Sega Genesis Mini?
“What about Wii Chess?”
What *about* Wii Chess.
“Do you have any thoughts on Wii chess”
No 😂
To answer Scott's question about which Wii Play game was acknowledged last, Pose Mii Plus from Wii Play: Motion was a microgame in WarioWare: Move It!
IS THAT POSE MII??!?!!?!!
@@Soracayo No, it's Pose Mii Plus
I honestly think Nintendo would just skip the GameCube and go straight to Wii LMAO
Same they just ignore the gamecube
same as the N64 tbh
@@alphaLONE I can see one reason why. Several N64 Virtual Console ports such as Sin & Punishment, Super Smash Bros, F-Zero X, & Yoshi’s Story have the Classic Controller’s buttons mapped differently from each other and not like how the original N64 Controller was mapped; that was later fixed for the Wii U Virtual Console via the Button Mapping option.
Another thing is how Nintendo might emulate the games for it. Everyone, including myself, have been criticizing the lack of fixed with several games via Nintendo Switch Online (it’s also been the issue with Sega Genesis on NSO and I’m worried that the recently-included GBA might be the same situation).
But then again, it would give Chibi Robo a second chance!
No way, they can sell a gamecube mini and re-sell another batch of gamecube controllers.
60 year old me in shambles that Fire Emblem Radiant Dawn would still be only available on the aftermarket for hundreds of dollars.
I hope your still in shambles over the game in your 80s. Good luck bro
I’d be surprised if Nintendo DON’T do this considering the Wii is one of the only consoles literally everyone has heard of
It's too late in the evolution of gaming, games now and in the future aren't/won't be different enough from Wii games, they wouldn't just give them away in a package like that. They'll only ever remaster or just emulate them on modern hardware.
@@snertttMaybe you can put your new console onto a Wii shell and get a download code for a couple of Wii games I think. I believe N64 classic edition and game boy colour/game boy advanced classic edition is more likely
I 100% agree with you. Nintendo will never release a Wii Classic. @@snerttt
Crazy considering how much more the DS and Switch have sold
It's a real 'break glass in case of emergency' scenario like the N.E.S mini was when the Wii-U failed
You guys forgot Just Dance 2020
They also forgot Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer.
@@Scribble2345Nah yall are forgetting iCarly The Videogame
Forgot about the homebrew channel
Along with Just Dance 2021! Do better Scott

The answer as to, "why doesn't Nintendo make more Classic Editions" is simple: because they're not struggling with the Switch. Big companies like Nintendo or LEGO would lean into these niche but fan-favorite items for a good value if they were in a financial slump; that's why the NES and SNES classic consoles came out and when they did. In a weird way, I kinda hope we get dives in the market so that they would cater to fans more directly. That's why every Mario anniversary is less exciting than every Kirby anniversary: Kirby entices its audience as a lesser-but-still-popular Nintendo franchise, Mario on the other hand, doesn't have to try hard when people will buy it anyways. If Mario fell out of popularity for a while, which given its history and legacy is hard to happen, then Mario would have to do something groundbreaking to come back on top. But while it sits up high for Nintendo properties, installments can be frequent but barely innovative, like the long-running New Super Mario Bros games.
yeah nintendo, sony and microsoft always do some of their coolest stuff to remain competitive when they're taking their biggest L's, but the moment they start succeeding they get all big headed and stop cuz they know they dont have to try anymore since their back on top. we'd probably see stuff like a n64 classic and mother 3 localization if the switch 2 were to flop, lmao. nintendo be keeping all sorts of stuff for their rainy day i bet
but they just DID try with Mario Wonder, why did they bother trying there?
@@bandannadoocause they knew that it was time for 2D Mario to start innovating again.
Back in 2009, my dad took me to a local game exhibition at the community college where the developers were showing off Deadly Creatures for the Wii. I remember being fascinated... but not because of the game. I didn't care about the game, I just wanted to ask them about how the Wii development kit worked (It loaded games off of SD cards! Amazing!)
I distinctly remember my dad telling one of the employees, "my kid has been really into this game named Zelda lately. Have you heard of it?"
Anyway, I'm pretty sure that's the most important thing an Arizona studio has ever done for game development.
Edit: Oh my god, the studio still exists and is now called Rainbow Studios. I stand corrected - Arizona has made multiple games, apparently!!
A N64 Classic Edition would have been a cool Idea but on my opinion that ship has already sailed.
With the N64 as an underselling console, topped with many offerings on the Switch Online service, Nintendo wouldn't consider making a classic console for that generation.
As much as some fairly weak machines can emulate GameCube and Wii these days, I just don’t think releasing a system that solely does that seems economically viable right now. Give it some time, until the hardware cost of that emulation is actually on par with what they had to put into emulating NES and SNES, and I’m sure they’ll do it. But we’re not quite there yet.
@@Maniac4BricksIt is still more popular than GCN and they are maybe waiting for a more suitable time. Game Boy or Game Boy Colour also have a chance,
Ship hasn’t sailed, I could see it being used as marketing for their next console that they feel needs it.
So not switch 2 but if it fails then doing it for a next after that
The other problem with the N64 is that they probably wouldn't be able to put any Rare games on it and considering how prominent they were during that era that would leave a pretty big gap and a lot of online backlash
RIP No More Heroes. Red Steel 2 took your slot
Thank god Rhythm Heaven was never considered to be taken off
Tatsunoko vs Capcom Has to be there, Wii exclusive, competitive fighter and really good fun.
Licensing nightmare unfortunately, Tatsunoko rights are all over the place worldwide
naruto clash of ninja revolution 3, best fighter on da wii
This is one of my favorite games on the switch and one of my favorite Capcom fighting games but it’s impossible to put it in a wii classic. License nightmare is the reason.
The whole licensing thing, I didn't know that was a stipulation. I'm just going for a dream Wii classic machine
4:35 The Trolley Problem illustration here was friggin’ hysterical! Props to Sam and Scott on that choice!
The Wii Classic Edition needs to not only have at least 20 games built in, it should also allow you to play disc games you currently own, since Wii discs are dirt cheap, because lot of people like the soccer moms bought them during the height of Wii era. But nowadays you can easily find used Wii consoles online and thrift shops, since they become dust collectors!
Two CZcamsrs discussing the prospect of a Wii Classic Edition for over an hour? That’s like, the scientific opposite of Valentine’s Day. Like I feel my virginity becoming more obvious with each second that elapses. Thank you 🙏
Keeping Endless Ocean, while not even giving Fire Emblem Radiant Dawn a second look is wild to me. All that talk about wanting variaty, but completely skipping the Wii's single strategy game...
And also one of the most notoriously expensive Wii games to obtain legally, at that.
Scott "Doesn't Play JRPGs" The Woz strikes again! Nintendo would NEVER skip Fire Emblem considering it is now a pretty well-known series.
@@NA-jd6wy I mean, the Wii U era had the chance to re-release Radiant Dawn as a Wii VC title, though I guess it would have been weird without Path of Radiance as well (since the Wii U never did Gamecube VC despite it running Gamecube titles via homebrew perfeclty fine)
@@ArbitraryOutcome Fire Emblem wasn't as big back then so it's understandable why RD wasn't ported.
@@NA-jd6wy IDK, Awakening dropped the same year the Wii U did.
No detective work required! Wii Play Motion was acknowledged more recently, freakishly recent even.
Wii Play Motion had a microgame featured in WarioWare Move It, so only about 3-4 months ago!
As far as I know that’s literally the game’s only reference in any other piece of media too LOL.
2011: Wii Play Motion
2023: WarioWare Move It
That’s the complete timeline lmao
The two guys who own a carpet join forces
Monster Hunter fan here. Can confirm, am shook. That said, I do want to see Tri included in one of these IF online is included. For a while the online portion of Tri became lost media, and there was a huge fan project in the more niche parts of the community to get a private server of it running. Monster Hunter games all have an online 'hub' and Tri's was particularly immersive and memorable due to it being pretty large (which may have been less convenient for the player, but also made it leave a bigger inpression) and it tied into the lore with the monster Jhen Mohran, with the hub town basing some of its culture around the beast. If this hub was brought online again in an official fashion, it would mean a lot to the community that loves this game.
If this were to come out, then I would probably cry because it would be a very obvious symbol that I've become old.
For Fire Emblem, Nintendo did include Fire Emblem: Monsho no Nazo(FE3) on the Super Famicom Mini. As far as Radiant Dawn being an "older Fire Emblem" it is a modern Fire Emblem title mechanically. Outside of the difficulty, you can go from something like Three Houses or Engage to Radiant Dawn with no trouble. This isn't like porting older games like the first Fire Emblem or Fire Emblem Gaiden.
Yeah, a lot of people would actually recommend Path of Radiance and Radiant dawn as good options for newcomers to Fire Emblem. Path of Radiance was my introduction and then I tried Radiant Dawn but went to the GBA games before finishing it.
I agree Radiant Dawn has aged gloriously, I think the only reason it was excluded is because both of them aren't super familiar with it
Antdude is so much more enjoyable when he's just being himself and not trying too hard to be funny like in his usual videos.
Before we get a Wii Classic, I want a GameCube Classic.
Both would be legit tho
They haven't even made an N64 Classic, either.
Dead console classic
@@evdestroy5304I think people value the Gamecube more today than when it was new. I think they might be more successful with a Classic version than we think they'd be.
Virtual boy classic 😈
I think that the only thing I'd argue with is get rid of Endless ocean and add Warioland Shake it, only argument for endless ocean is, "It's unique!" yea but like... when's the last time you heard someone say, "I JUST WANT ENDLESS OCEAN ON THE SWITCH!" It's always, "When is the next warioland game!?"
Lmao and we got Endless Ocean announced 6 days after this video
Scott truly is the king of playing a game for an hour or two and deciding its entire worth.
Ant disrespecting Wii Play honestly hurt me. Without Wii Play, we wouldn’t have Wii Tanks.
I never got to play Wii Tank, was it good?
Wii Tanks!!!!! My favourite Wii game lol
Nah as someone who grew up with both, motion is WAY better
He also disrespects dementia sufferers by siding with someone who committed Charity Fraud to the tune of $600k
Wii tanks is the 🐐 of minigames
I just hacked my SNES mini, it's so freakin wicked. I have the old 3ds eshop theme playing on the main menu and added gba and arcade games into the mix. It rocks.
Depending on the specific arcade games, that might dilute the idea of a mini "Nintendo" based console into becoming a custom emulation box with whatever.
@@notsyzagts7967 It definitely does, but if someone wants their hacked SNES Classic to play arcade games that have NOTHING to do with Nintendo, I say let them
I can see this being a massive hit if it were to ever become a reality, maybe in the 2030s or something.
Epic Mickey really deserves to be on there imo. Not only did it sell well but it also has not been re-released ever and it deserves to be playable again.
Too bad it has a Disney license so it's hard to rerelease it.
@@ludexia5338 Split Second moment
Good thing it’s coming out again on switch
Dude I love these AntDude collabs, keep it up
Oh I was waiting for Sin & Punishment to come up, such an incredibly unique and fun wii game that I rarely see get talked about. Glad it got included!
Every Nintendo Fan: we want Sin and Punishment 2, Metroid Prime 3, Wario Land Shake It and Smash Bros Brawl on the Wii Classic.
Nintendo: you guys gonna get Wii Sport, Wii Play, Wii Sport Resort, Wii Party, Wii Play Motion, Wii Fit, Wii Chess, Wii Music and Mario Party 9.
Nintendo: and throw in imagine party babyz, for good measure!
@@helenhomunculus5044 Nintendo not that’s stupid to put shovelware.
They gonna put casual games but not 3rd party shovelware.
I would prefer nintendos choice there
@@memediatek so you want mario party 9 over smash bros brawl?
Little King’s Story mentioned!
One of the best games I’ve ever finished. Second half is unlike anything I’ve experienced in a video game. I think something like this would really help the game too, as the janky PC rerelease has made it harder to check out the series
When was it mentioned!?
The saga of Scott starting the video saying “So, -------” continues
Despite the Wii being 18 years old, I feel like it’s too modern to be made into a classic edition
If wii classic edition becomes a thing i am definitly buying
They should have epic Mickey on there too for a Wii game because that’s the only place you could play it. I love that game.
That's a Disney license so that'll be a little difficult.
I love scotts talk with Antdude, they are always so fun
When I lived in NYC, I used my SNES mini like crazy. Space is limited and it was cool to be able to play a few games in my bedroom.
Yeah I definitely had mine hooked up in my college dorm for awhile for the same reason. NSO is what made me stop using it
My SNES mini is my actual SNES. It made playing that generation more affordable and you get the look and feel of the system
The WiiWare Castlevania game is the most wanted WiiWare game out there.
Thank you for the deep cut of Aquapods. 15 year streak of not thinking once about it is ruined.
I love these discussion videos with you and ant
What should we do for Valentine's Day? I KNOW, LETS TALK ABOUT THIS WII!
It was Valentine's Day and they talked about the Wii, yet no mention of We Dare? 😥
These are great podcast type interviews! 💯
the amount i went from not pissed to pissed when Wario Land got tossed
(its one of my favourite Wii games)
yeah wario land shake it is such a fun game, and honestly kinda underrated. i feel people constanly like to take potshots on it for really arbitrary reasons outside of the shaking gimmick, which yes got annoying p quickly but not as egregious as making it the jump function like in dk country returns. but seriously listening to them cry about the aspect ratio borders? but then go on to defend a rather mediocre game like kirbys epic yawn, bruh
I played Dragon Quest Swords like crazy as a kid, and they just disregarded it in 15 seconds 😢
@@Cainenghis OMG ME TOO I LOVE DRAGON QUEST SWORDS- my piss levels are even higher now.
@@helenhomunculus5044 Yeah, I definitely think the game is remembered way too much for its artstyle and not the excellent gameplay- I love the collectathon aspect of it, no one ever mentions that! And yeah I think most of their problems with the game, while certainly valid are nitpicks (I never really had any problems with either, the shake isn't particularly obtrusive at all to me), but it if I was thinking ab what Nintendo would put on a Wii Mini id also prolly ommit it LMAO
It looks good, but it was an obvious one to be cut with all the other 2D platformers and Wario already having a game included.
Another chill video awesome
Radiant Dawn would definitely have to be on it.
I would be so upset if they skipped right over the N64 and Gamecube. It had such a small library in the first place you could easily put all of the fan favorite titles on it.
I hope the Wii classic gets an upscale option to at least 720p if it does happen. When you're a young kid, for some reason, you don't see the bad anti-aliasing and low resolution.
Hidden gem that I would love to have included is Fishing Resort. One of the best fishing games on the Wii imo
no cap, one of the best fishing games ever made, dare i say
Holy shit, never thought I'd see someone else acknowledge that game's existence. It's got such a nice vibe to it.
I kind of hate that all of my favorite Wii games aren't even going to be in contention. Sakura Wars 5, The Last Story, No More Heroes and its sequel...some really great Japanese support for the system. The Last Story is way too good to be locked on the Wii forever.
And what about Trauma Center and Trauma Team? Sin and Punishment 2?
he mentioned trauma center and one of the sin and punishments
for real, and add madworld, tenchu shadow assassins, fragile dreams, dokapon kingdom, sengoku basara sakurai heroes, and naruto clash of ninja rev3 to the list! but i do feel that nmh and madworld being mature rated may have impacted their eligibility for consideration on the grounds that nintendo would likely be unwilling to include M rated games in a mini console, which would suck, but be understandable.
Yes! Getting podcast vibes. Amazing 🎉
Monster Hunter Tri wouldn't be a great inclusion because Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate exists, which is just an enhanced version of the game with more monsters and all twelve weapon types that existed at the time, unlike Tri which only had seven of the weapons for some reason. Plus MH heavily relies on online for its co-op multiplayer, which is a huge part of the game. I'd rather see Capcom re-release the old MonHun games as a legacy collection on all platforms instead. So, no, excluding it from the list does not upset me. Tri's not a bad game, there's just a better version of it and it wouldn't really fit the mini-console format.
Spot on. But I would make the case for mhfu on a psp classic with simulated adhoc functionality.
I personally think if this system had a new UI it would be kind of like USB loader GX if anyone don't have a homebrewed Wii here that is basically a backup loader for your Wii games and it matches the Wii UI really good
32:00 cries in fire emblem radiant dawn
That was so weird...
God I fucking love these videos, love both of you and wish you the best!!
These two have such amazing chemistry.
I feel like Nintendo would try and fit Fire Emblem Radiant Dawn with how much they have been pushing the series over the course of the switch.
I could see it being skipped purely because the story really expects you to be familiar with the GameCube Path of Radiance. In fact the two games have connectivity with each other too which would likely need to be removed.
Go Vacation was one of my favourite childhood games and I cannot believe the disrespect it was shown (tbf, it can't compete against WSR on a classic console)
Elebits as well as Trauma Center: Second Opinion and Link’s Crossbow Training should be on the Wii Classic. Those games rock!
Link's Crossbow Training is cool, but if one were to pick it as one of the thirty games to represent the Wii, it would cause riots.
Having AntDude and Scott discuss De Blob is the greatest Valentines day gift i could have asked for.
YOU GUYS TALKED ABOUT LITTLE KING'S STORY I'M SO HAPPY 😭
The Japan Exclusive Mystery Dungeons that were on the Wii would be ace.
scot nerding out with the fellas. seriously though, how do you memorize the publishers???
I could listen to these two all day
Fell to my knees when they removed Go Vacation
These should be in podcast form ❤
Happy Valentine’s Day!
CAUGHT SCOTTS STASH UPLOAD EARLY!!!
I feel like im the only person who extensively used their SNES classic, the console was EVERYTHING to me. It's the first way I played super mario world, a link to the past, super metroid, final fantasy, the list goes on. Genuinely experienced what would become some of my favourite games of all time here. I always wanted to get into retro gaming, but it wasn't until I got a snes classic that that intrest took flight
I just bought my third Wii this year. I had a library still and some GC games, plus the accessories. But for what I want, it makes sense.
I like having a lot of different ways to play games, I play light gun games on it and guitar hero, there's the racing wheel, also I use the balance board for snowboarding like Alpine Rider in the arcade and its pretty fun, its a very resonsive peripheral often overlooked. And that's my point.
I like the motion control regulars like Zelda and Metroid as well as many lesser likes games because I've learned the finicky motion controls, but the real value is in those Zapper games and in using the balance board and Punch Out like I used to play it with the U Force.
I always liked Nintendo for innovating and fun gameplay, and I know how to get that out of the Wii. Without all that and a deep knowledge of the library I don't know if people would get the potential. It's in all the weirdness.
My Wii is my only dedicated console anymore, and I am happy with it. Stuff's pretty cheap, too.
19:37 "I'm a wee enjoyer"
Can’t wait to watch
That was an era!

Sam and scott were popping with the wii classic editing ngl
I hope this video has Mario in it
I hope this video has antdude in it
I haven’t watched the full video yet but I hope they talk about channels to add like check mii out, everybody votes, or the Nintendo channel
RHYTHM HEAVEN MENTIONED
Barrel Blast, put it in
City folk 100% needs to be on the wii classic
The sound effect you used when putting entries on the list is the same as my work notification sound it was driving me insane
Ranking all the Zelda games with pbg would be sick
I’m not sure if Scott has finished enough Zelda games to do that haha
He’s kinda overrated
My two favorite people collabing is so clutch 😭
Rayman raving rabids 1 was such a good choice. I got my wii for Christmas in 2006, we set it up in my grandfather's kitchen and played Wii Sports & Raving Rabids since it was a launch title. It will always be ingrained in my memory of the Wii and i'm glad it even got a mention
Mario slugers would never come to a Wii classics because it is an U.S exclusive
Snes classic had different games on the Japanese and US versions.
Yea true however the us version will also probably be released in the eu
@@baddabaddabaddaswing I see it as very unlikely for them to reales more than 2 different versions of them
It WAS? But honestly I think it should be available for other regions, like how I think Fire Emblem 3-5 should have been on the export SNES classic.
That's not true, we got it in Canada too...
Can you guys do a gamecube one also?
Final video i watch at work today.
Hey back to work :3
I'd really, really, really love to see Scott and Ant come up with a Gamecube Classic lineup too!! I'm not very familiar with the library, I'd love to see the best of what it has to offer.
That Endless Ocean timming just before the Direct
The game I played most on Wii was Ghost Squad with the Nykon gun attachment. No shot (pun). Great vid.
Man, I would push for 10 WiiWare games. The fact that none of the ReBirth trilogy have a way to legally purchase them right now when Castlevania Adventure ReBirth is one of the best 2D Castlevania games of all time is a disgrace. One day I hope Konami packages those and sells the ReBirth trilogy on Switch for like $20-$30.
This is the best type of video to listen to while organizing my video game collection. I’m currently trying to remember how I have 4 wii consoles. Literally more than the amount of Wii games I have
City Folk getting cut hurt my soul
