my personal bad nintendo take is that mario party 9 is actually pretty good when it's 1am and none of your friends are conscious enough to fully get it
Is that the vehicle one ? Where you all go on a road trip across the board? They should have made it a 3d side stroller and changed mechanics and it would have been a fan favorite
That game is a guilty pleasure of mine. Besides, the minigame design is arguably the best in the whole series
A toddler can play mp9. Literally just push A
@@Gio-pb5rmespecially since we learned the dice results are determined before you even press A
No its bad
The big thing about the modern Mario party games that many people fail to realize is that NDcube are former Hudson devs. The director of Mario party 6 is the same director of 9 and 10. It almost puts the modern Mario parties in a depressing light since it’s clear the devs wanted to make something different, but didn’t know how to properly evolve the series until they basically just put their hands up and brought back the old formula.
THAT is what gets me about it all. They’re the same devs!!! but they hit a creative wall!!!
Really provides an example of "if it ain't broke don't fix it"
@@AmySay I always thought because of the company shift that the new devs just couldn't figure out how to make the games like they used to. Then I heard that NDcube is made up of mostly Hudson Soft devs and that made things confusing. Then I thought it might be a game director change, but it turns out the old and new directors don't line up with the company change. So I have no idea what the issue is.
It might really be different goals based on reviews complaining about reptitiveness or whatever Nintendo wanted.
Really now? I couldn't tell since MP6 was innovation done in the best way possible
Yeah, but for all we know, they are getting pressured by Nintendo to heavily simplify the gameplay or something.
Most staff from NDCube left in 2006, and the reason for the lack of Mario Party's for 5 years was likely because many Hudson Soft employees left the company and moved to NDCube, especially those who developed Mario Party. In that sense, the core staff behind Mario Party hasn't changed as much as it seems like, which should be something to note.
Kinda like Paper Mario
I was gonna come to comment this exact thing. NDcube is really just Hudson Soft lite
Interesting, I never knew that! But that makes all their missteps with the more recent games even more sad and confusing. Like are they missing like the two people that really made the magic happen from the earlier titles?
@@mrlionman5466I think is because they got infected by the Wii era, after lot of Wii Party simpleness and cheap soulless games and features (such as pressing a before starting the game, or just look and pick games ) infected Mario Party until Super Mario Party, (it doesn’t help that the director for console entries was the same for all this period)
The same director persisted during the dark age of Mario Party and Superstars returned to the formula basically because the old director changed positions in the company and the new one for superstars simple understands what made Mario Party good and returned to the formula.
@@mrlionman5466 not really
19:46 "All the boards go in a straight line" That's a circle, Scott.
Hahaha you're not wrong
But Jerry Attricks hates circles.
I'm getting flashbacks to Achievement Hunter's Minecraft Let's Play's where Jack says a similar thing and Ray corrects him the exact same way you did lol
Your wrong, no curves 😊
Mario Party 8 had a board that was literally a straight line and it managed to be more interesting than any of 9's levels.
Goomba's *Booty* Boardwalk
Mario Party 2's main draw is that characters get cute costumes unique to each stage and there's a nice sense of narrative on each board. I don't know why they didn't bring this back in later games
I think that's just to tie into the movie set theme that 2 was going for, the following Hudson games all their own unique themes that didn't make as much sense with board-specific costumes and a narrative. Costumes in general would be a nice feature to add, though.
Each game has a theme
1 I have no clue
2 Stage play
3 Board game
4 generic party
5 Dream
6 Day/Night
7 World Trip
8 Carnival games
DS Being small
Mario Party 1 had narratives for the boards too, just not as emphasized. It's really cool how you can unlock new boards too and there's a bit of a narrator there as well. Mario Party 1 is one of my favorites for that reason.
@@ShadowDragon-cw7wb1 is more like an adventure
Its amazing how Mario Party DS despite being on a underpowered handheld has more content than the Switch versions
Yeah, the DS versions are the ones that I have the most memories. DS Download play was too good for its time and Christmas with the cousins always ensured an enjoyable and hectic DS game sesh.
Than^
@@robezharvey8475 thanks 😊
Shut up, Superstars is good game
That is completely false. Mario Party DS has 5 boards and 73 minigames, whereas the Switch games also have 5 boards each, and Super has 84 minigames while Superstars has 100 (+some extra ones not on the board).
Mario Party has always been dark. Mario is there. As long as he is there, there's no light

It's pretty clear Scott didn't know this, but despite the formal announcement of acquisition in 2012, Konami has been buying Hudson Soft's stocks for years and even makes a partnership agreement back in the early 2000s. So it was more like a long time coming that Konami would just buy and discard the Hudson Soft brand eventually.
And it's not like the Mario Party staff at Hudson has a disagreement with Nintendo, if anything, quite the opposite!
Around 2009-2010, many former Hudson Soft employees who worked on Mario Party leave the company, including former president Hidetoshi Endo, to join NDCube, which at the time hasn't made anything in years. Basically, Nintendo bought stocks in the company to become the majority shareholder and began restructuring to house former Hudson Soft staffs, most likely because people at Hudson saw the writing on the wall and ask Nintendo for help.
Too bad we haven't seen anything similar with Alpha Dream, since Mario & Luigi has been missing in action ever since they went bankrupt.
If that was the case, then why did these former Hudson Soft devs abandon the traditional play they once worked on in Mario Party 9?
@@scottschiff327 Probably as Scott meantioned: it was shake up to the formula. Was it good? no. But the devs probably saw the complaints and reviews about how the last 5 games haven't really been that interesting so they decided "Okay lets shake it up then".
Of course now we're back so something more "traditional".
@@leonrowait didn't they shut down during COVID?
@@JeskidoYT They did shut down around that time, but we have yet to hear anything about a Mario & Luigi studio.
All of the good Mario Party games run in 4:3, whereas all of the bad ones run in 16:9. Clearly the aspect ratio is what's causing them to be bad.
Funny enough I think 8 has a hidden widescreen mode
@@JeskidoYT Enormous if true.
I remember playing Mario Party 8 and thinking "this is what THE FUTURE looks like." The graphics blew my mind.
Did you skip the gamecube entirely because it looks worse than 5, 6 and 7
If I can give Mario Party 10 any credit, I actually think it works better than 9. The Bowser board of this game, Chaos Castle, is a genuinely intense experience at times because you've gotta save all your low movement options for the final stretch lest you be burnt to a crisp and lose half your ministars. Genuinely the most fun I've had being stuck in a car with 4 other people
Hey! Mario party 9 has the best bosses, minigames and soundtrack!
bowser party is genuinely an awesome idea that actually makes the car idea work. would love to see something like it again, just more developed
Mario Party 10 is the worst mario party in my honest opinion
“You’re not supposed to take it seriouslu” ZoomZike didn’t get the memo
Hahahahaha great reference. Love the Identifying Luck series
What is not mentioned here is that NDCube had a staffing change in 2019, right after Super Mario Party was made. The president of NDcube is know the director of the Mario Party series from the pre NDcube days. I can only imagine when they were asked to make a new Mario Party, he wanted to see if the old style was still something people wanted. Superstars sold 12.31 Million units, so hopefully we see more of this type of mario party.
You completely neglected to mention Island Tour’s Bowser Tower Mode. When I was a little kid, I’d spent god knows how many hours trying to beat all 30 floors, and I always got stuck at Dry Bowser. I would find out a few years later that if you beat the Bowser Bossfight on the top floor, Bowser would get right back up and kick you off the tower and you’d get to do it all over again, absolutely nothing for your troubles. Mario Party Island Tour is such a waste of your time, don’t even think of playing it, you’ll regret every second of it.
But it does have Choicest Voice.
@@ZizZap4 that is like the only redeeming quality of that game, there was also mini games that took advantage of the 3DS‘s AR cards and those were kind of cool.
Don't you unlock Bowser Jr. as a playable character tho?
@@FrahdChikun Maybe, I don’t really remember whether or not you got anything for beating Bowser Tower.
@@AKablalikYou do get Bowser Jr as a playable character.
Mario Party DS was so damn good. I absolutely loved that download play was just straight the full game, you only needed one copy to play everything with 4 friends.
I personally didn’t mind Mario Party 9. The minigames were pretty fun and the car concept was alright in it too. But the concept definitely didn’t need to return in Mario Party 10.
totally agree
9 has better mini games than 8
Say about Mario Party 9 what you want, but it has one of the best minigame selection in the entire series
Definitely. The rock climbing one NEEDS TO RETURN 😭
Yeah, THE MINIGAMES ARE THE BEST PART OF MP9!
I remember back when PB & Jeff was a thing with Peanutbuttergamer and SpaceHamster before Jeff moved to streaming and Austin to streaming while still maintaining two other channels, and Peebs was so excited about The Top 100 cause he wanted a minigame compilation like that. It hurt to see him so disappointed about how it ended up being, and I think he referred to it as Nintendo's yearly stinker or something like that.
It's weird that I can remember something like that but if you told me which Christmas did my cousin get the closest to beating Sonic 3D Blast in one sitting when he tried to make it a tradition, you got me there.
Holy s**t, someone talking about PB and Jeff do those were the days
Fuck yes PB and Jeff. I still rewatch their let's plays sometimes.
I miss PB and Jeff 🥲
I love getting home from work, reading scott’s video titles and being like “what the hell,” and then enjoying the video with some dinner
Dang i remember back when i had Mario Party 9, i remember being so excited to try it out, already at the time played 2 and 3 and completed DS with the whole museum and then this new mechanic with the car was so interesting, the fact that they included a story mode, the music for the boards and the minigames not to mention that you can defeat bosses multiplayer (which remind me so much of me trying to beat the ass off the Mario Party DS ones 😂) was so freshing and so the backtrack with the Mario Party Points to expend for more content in game. I understand people didn't like so much the change from the traditional style that used 8 or DS. And then 10 came out... And.... Oh boi.... No story mode, removed shy guy and kamek when they could be along with toadette and spike, bowser jr minigames was removed entirely... 2 vs 2 minigames came back which i think it was the only good thing they did... And Bowser Party... Gosh i can't describe sometimes how disadvantage this game mode is for some of the players in car, especially at the castle stage.... The minigames are fun tho... The donuts one should have make it to Superstars 🍩 (instead of pointing you should press the button of which shy guy has the more ones)
And Love how Scott despises it so much 😂
Still waiting for a Mario Party with a Huge Roster of characters (kinda what Super Mario Party did)... And the return of Tumble
Hearing Scott talk about how weird the GameCube to early Wii era of Mario Party looks, been something that I’ve thought about for years
I would absolutely say that Mario Party DS actually *is* one of the best Mario Party games. I think it may legitimately have the most side content of any game in the series, plus both the minigames and boards are super solid. Honestly if there were even more good quality minigames, and bigger boards with more crazy events, I think it would've made a bigger splash. I think it definitely deserves more praise than it gets.
The online mode update in Super was particularly hilarious, because Superstar was announced right after....with online. And not just online, but true online matchmaking, not restricted to Friends.
Yea. Nintendo once again scamming/losing consumers

I really enjoy Mario Party Superstars but I still think there's room for improvement, mainly the amount of coins the game throws at you, the lucky spaces shower you with too many coins and there's too many lucky spaces on the boards, this in turn makes there less blue spaces on the boards which makes it more likely you get a hidden block with even more coins in it.
The item variety isn't super great either and because golden pipes are easy to get and coins are aplenty, the end game of a lot of boards can just be golden pipe spam.
I still really enjoy it though, the board design just needs some work (in terms of spaces), NDcube always seem to want the spaces to do something, having an uneventful turn makes the eventful turns all the sweeter.
I agree, way too many lucky spaces. Not as bad as super Mario party with the economy but it still feels like everyone always has way too many coins. Also the orb system is superior to the item system.
Nothing will surpass GameCube Mario Parties
I guess you just had to be there for when the N64 ones were brand new.
The GameCube MPs are SO overrated. 2, 8, DS, and Superstars for life, baby!!
@@user-zw3on4bx2t 8 and Superstars I agree are one of the best but really? 2 and DS? I have never seen a game more overhyped than Mario Party 2. It's good, but not THAT good, the costumes are cute sure but what else is there? And DS, I grew up with it so I have a soft spot for it, but even for a Mario Party, DS is way too luck based. It's charming sure, but I wouldn't call it one of the best.
Also I think Gamecube Mario Parties are still pretty underrated. Unless you're an avid Mario Party enjoyer, people don't seem to appreciate them as much. 4 is about as good as 2 I'd say, 5 is... bad, 6 is really really good, and 7 is the most cookie-cutter textbook "good Mario Party".
3, 6 and DS are my personal favorites
@@gligarguy4010I actually really don’t care for the N64 versions. I don’t think they aged well at all.
15:26 Well, Monegi, who was the actual developer of the Mario Party, which was actually a joint venture between Nintendo and Hudson Soft and was based in the latter company, disbanded not too long after Mario Party DS' release. Many of the staff that worked there went on to work at ND Cube, which, i assume, was when Wii Party started being developed on. With that game selling really well, I think Nintendo decided to entrust them with the Mario Party series.
I will defend Star Rush. It is actually quite fun. I just wished it had more board theme variety and for a Mario Party that relies on Boss Battle minigames, it has so few of them. Around 10 I believe, so you will see repeats too often. It should at least have 20.
But the gameplay was nice, and I also liked the extra modes.
Thank God for Mario Party 3! I could finally cry about my inner most feelings AND play Mario Party 3 instead of just crying! Saved my childhood
fun fact: mario party includes mario
Oh wow! That's so cool!
what about mario party e
This fact was, in fact, not fun; as it involved known war criminal and serial committee of goombacide Mario "Jumpman" Mario
But I'm allergic to Mario!
Mario Party 8 was my obsession as a kid. I would play with family or just on my own for hours. All the boards having different themes and objectives. Loved it
Scott, I literally just ran out of Scott the woz content. Thank you for uploading more for my binge watching
I was looking for a video like this from you yesterday. What a huge coincidence. I got the first game when it came out, and my grandmother and I would stay up until 2-4 in the morning playing it (and Mario Kart, etc)
I was looking for a video like this to decide whether I should finally get Mario Party Superstars. I said f**k it and pulled the trigger as soon as I found out how nostalgic it could be considering they had mini games and boards from the first game. Gonna see if my grandmother is still down to game. Lol
Her husband (my grandfather) just passed away after suffering from alzheimers and cancer.....so I'm hoping it will help cheer her and I up and be a good time. Anyways. Thanks for the video.
Some of my bias for 8 comes from the fact it was the first Mario Party game I played, and while I still really loved what they offered, one - building off what Scott critiqued about it, I looked at the GameCube entries and saw them a bit more favorable in terms of visuals (most GameCube games look better than Wii games) and two - 8 was the only GOOD Wii entry in the franchise to where it might as well be considered the only Wii entry, period.
Is there anything sadder than playing a Mario Party single-player? Hehehe, yeah, that was me as a kid. Owned the original Mario Party on N64, never had anyone else to play it with.
MP 8 is my personal favorite and I know a bunch of people that do to. The tycoon town, the pirate beach, the train so many good maps
Mario Party 7 and DS are my favorites. Great video of the series
Plus fzero maximum velocity was goated 😤
it's always a good day when Scott talks about Mario Party, which sadly doesn't happen often. Thanks Scott, and I hope the Mario Party 3 video on the main channel is gonna happen one day :))
Mario Party DS was MY Mario Party. such a great game I played it for hours
I absolutely adore this genre of Scott videos
Island Tour was a brilliant game for the 3DS imo
I will always maintain that Star Rush is in fact Not That Bad, mainly because of Coinathlon. You and your opponents race around a track, collecting as many coins as you can in minute-long minigames in order to reach the end first. It's skill-based, frantic and hugely competitive, and is insanely fun with friends or alone.
The story mode in Mario Party Advance sets it apart from all the others in a good way. It works. It's a rougelike with fun characters
DS is my favourite in the series
It’s the only one I’d choose to play 😭
It's the only one I have ever played, and I had good fun with it. Never played multiplayer, but I did play the hell outta the story mode.
It's great, kept playing it for a long while once I got a 3DS. Played it almost as much as steel divers, the best 3DS game.
MP6 is my favorite.
Mario Party DS is genuinely one of my favorite childhood games. And thats because of the single player, one of the best DS memories I have.
Toad Scramble absolutely puts Star Rush in my Top 2 Mario Party games.
10:17 - I don't know whether it was Sam or Scott that was responsible for the escalating cartoon bonk sound effects per Bonk game appearing, but just know it was greatly appreciated
31:55 yes. Yes it was. Especially on the 3DS, watching all other people roll their dice and then watching them walk and the dialogue is boring as hell this is an amazing change actually
"Camelot started out making Hot Shots Golf for PS1"
I will not stand for Shining Force erasure
I feel like the main problem with Mario party 9 and 10 is that the concept for them would have been perfectly fine as a side mode for a Mario Party game, like the battle mode in Mario Party 5.... not _as_ the Mario Party game.
Mario Party 7 gave me so many memories. Even though it's considered worse than 5 or 6, I grew up with 7, didn't have the microphone attachment, and didn't care.
I think it's better than 5.
Why does this channel keep getting closer and closer to the main channel content wise. I mean this video could have EASILY been passed as a normal ScottTheWoz video if you couldn’t see the channel’s icon.
Hopefully people don't find it to be a bad thing. It's nice to have a fun ramble, a few jokes, and keep things a bit more chill
Might be that way on purpose since Scott is letting some his friends edit the videos for this channel. Get as close as possible with a low stakes Scott Stash video before moving onto helping with a main channel video
I like the main channel but I honestly prefer Scott’s Stash over it. The quality is still great and it’s interesting to me just hearing Scott’s full rambling and long video length consistently.
I disagree. The quality's getting close but the style's still very different.
I have a soft spot for 10 because it was my first real introduction to Mario. This era’s high point was definitely the bosses. I hope they bring bosses back in future games
I love board games and Mario party and the randomness is a party of most games card or dice, but the best games give you fun and interesting ways to mitigate the random parts.
I was able to get Mario Party DS through the orange DSi Christmas bundle way back when. Still have that beautiful thing.
Not gonna lie, I had a lot of fun with Star Rush and The Top 100 with a couple of friends, when it comes to local multiplayer they were decent and the boss fights were better than I could imagine.
The Mario series amiibo are seriously so great! They’re a huge quality leap from the early Super Smash series. I wish they’d redo some of the early Super Smash characters now that they’re better at making amiibo. I especially want characters who got major redesigns in Ultimate like Zelda.
mario party DS was the first ever video game that i owned. i was 4 years old and played that thing constantly, i'm so happy its been getting some more love in recent years
I actually got Mario Kart DS as one of my first DS games back in kindergarten, and I played it crazy often. My friend and his siblings had their own DS's, so I got to play it multiplayer whenever we hung out. I didn't know it was last game of the "classic era" of Mario Party with Hudson Soft. I did end of getting a couple of the later Mario Party games, and I've always had some level of fun with them just playing them on a home console with a low enough entry barrier for my entire family or any guests we had over to join in and play with me. Though, unlike Mario Party DS, I rarely ever played these games in single player mode, since they were just relatively boring and exhausting without a bunch of other people to play with. I am very glad to see a bit of a "return to form" in Mario Party Superstars. I still don't play it single player that often, but it's definitely the most fun I've had with Mario Party since DS.
I always held Mario Party DS as my favorite. The memories of playing that, and Mario Kart DS, every morning/afternoon on the school bus in elementary school with all the friends are precious to me. :)
Mario Party DS was my first MP, shame it was the last Hudson game.
IT WAS THE LAST?
NOOO
I love mario party 8, always played it with my family. I love the diferent boards that have diferent gimmicks.
I will always have a bit of a soft spot for Island Tour
I had played some of DS before but the classic formula hadn't quite clicked with me at the time, so I latched more to Island Tour - which as you said, decent minigames they hadn't fucked up on that front, but looking back the very gimmicky linear boards aren't all that great
The only one I still appreciate today is Kamek's board, since there's some kinda solid strategy to be found in trying to offset your opponents' position as you all aim for landing right on the finish tile
I really love mario party 9 and 10, the bowser mode on wii u it's insane
As someone who grew up with Mario Party 9 specifically, and thus didn't have the context of the other games in the series for a long time, I think the game is still a lot more fun than most give it credit for. Is it significantly worse than the other games in the series? Maybe, I don't know. But it's a damn fun time nonetheless.
mario party ds has always been one of my favorites :3
played mario party 6 the other night w/ a couple friends who have never picked up a controller, we played the space map where there are three chests with either a bomb star or coins and my buddy got 5/6 bombs in chests with 4 happening in a row. im not sure the odds on that but it was a memorable experience to say the least
Mario Party 8 got a 5.2?!
I have so many memories with that one! Mostly being at parties while drinking
Hot take: I actually really love Mario Party 9.
The first and 2nd are my favs. 3 was kinda weird but still good.
Yeah, I'm so sick of people complaining about how "unfair" the game is. And I'm also sick of people saying "this game ruins friendships". Mario party allows you to be as strategic as you want to be. But in the end it reminds you to not take it too seriously. And for those of you who lost a friend over this game......Wtf is wrong with you? You are the problem. Not the game.
Lol when people say that Mario party ruins friendships they are joking.
@@zs4580 Yeah, it more speaks about him than others.
To the reviewers who complained about yearly Mario party releases I would just like to say thank you so much for all of the nothing you’ve given me over the years!
I know I'm in the minority but 7 is still the best Mario party hands down that's the one my family and friends still play to this day (when we can)
7 is my favorite as well with 6 being a close 2nd
It's nice to see someone gets it
so glad to see someone give 7 love
7 is my second favorite. My first favorite is 6.
it’s all about the good memories bro
The 3DS Mario Party games are what got me into the series. I thought they were pretty enjoyable. Thanks to that, I was able to enjoy Super Mario Party and Mario Party Superstars on the Switch! ❤
Common misconception: mini-games i MP9 only occur when landing on a mini-game space. In fact, mini-games also appear when every player has taken a turn, and a player lands on a blue space and it's been at least four turns since last mini-game (if there are four players).
I grew up with 9 and it's really good. It doesn't fit as an original Marioparty type of game. It just belongs to a slightly different genre.
A lot of the newer games have a good amount of effort put in.
Yeah the strategy is lower, which does suck but it just makes the movement interesting in a different way (especially the later boards) and the mini stars make the game more tense with even more stealing and fun!
24:14 almost nothing did happen. It got slightly worse but it's definitely good enough to hold up for those who enjoy it. It's not a classic Mario Party, so just don't buy it if you hate the 9 style, easy. Yes, they should have improved but that doesn't make the game bad.

I know that Super Mario Party isn't the best, but it will always have a special place in my heart, because it was the first thing my wife and mother ever bonded over, after a decade of them not really getting along. My mother never liked her but, honestly she never liked any of the women I dated, Im her only child, and one of few constants in her life. And my wife has issues with her for valid reasons, one being that mother has never been open to her fully. But one day my wife brought her Nintendo switch and set up super Mario party. My mom who hadnt played a video game since pacman first came out, somehow found herself playing too. And it was during a storm that shut things down for a weekend, and they just played all weekend. Ever since then, they have gotten along consistently well for around 4 years, since it happened during the start of the c vid.
Star Rush is like Super Mario Party somewhat. You might like that one!
Mario Party Advance is the one I'm most nostalgic for. I have very find memories of playing the game on road trips with my siblings on our SPs.

sticker star > super paper mario
But they just take _so_ damn long to complete!
@@mrbeaver6000 I know you're just doing the lyrics, but the Mario RPGs are definitely comparitably shorter considering much of the modern JRPG catalogue (or even some of the older ones). Like, they only reach about 30 hours at max and that's only if you're trying to go for everything, which, IMO, is the perfect length for an RPG. Not to mention these games have a lot more in terms of player engagement.
9:37 IGN gave Star Fox 2 a low score for being an old game yet gave Hogsharts Legacy a 9 JUST because it was a Harry Potter game. The reviews talks about it being shit but the millennial nostalgia won them over I guess.
I think what happened with Mario Party is that Hudson Soft caught lightning in a bottle with the initial formula. If you play, say, Sonic Shuffle, it has a lot of problems that makes it not nearly as good as their Mario Party games. And then, when they tried to do something new with Mario Party (it's my understanding that NDSoft is made up of a lot of former Hudson Soft staff), it wasn't very good, either. It feels like, by complete chance, Hudson got party games right the very first time, and the devs just can't figure out how to replicate that success with something new, no matter how many times they try (unless Disney's Party is some masterpiece of a game that's flown under my radar).
Mario party 4 and 6 were always my favorites
Konami became a majority stakeholder in 2005 for hudson soft. My guess is that nintendo and konami were not able to strike an agreement and hudson was told to finish their final remaining projects (mp8 and ds) and then move on to other things.
I had the Mario Party e card game, and between me and my yu-gi-oh buddies in middle school, it was good fun. The minigames were serviceable, but you can just skip the e-reader entirely and just flip a coin to see who wins the minigame, which made it go by quick so you could have a lot of rounds in a short time.
Mario Party Advance is honestly pretty cool if you think of it as a standalone title that acts as more of an adaptation of Mario Party concepts as opposed to an actual entry
Like I wrote in the Wii's last years video, MP9's biggest problem is that it's called Mario Party and not Kirby Party or Pokemon Party or something. It's fun, and has just as much bullcrap as regular Mario Party. It's just different bullcrap. It's stupid fun, a lot simpler, but still fun.
To me Mario Party Superstars is the best Mario Party for all of the reasons you stated + one key feature.
Playing the training mode of mini games directly on the instruction menu without loadings .
No more will I hear that friend say " haha I won ! Wait this was the training?"
How many
With how good superstars is there’s still so much area for improvement.
My family had a preference for Mario Party 7 & 8 but only because of the mini games and the 5th b/c we would ALWAYS rent it from the dvd store and one day the guy was like “ just keep it “ 😅
Mario Party has been a staple of my friend group as we grew up. I miss them alot.
I think Scott either playing or talking about Mario party is my new favourite thing
Honestly, I really liked Star rush when it first came out. I used to play it with my brother all the time, and the game boards were really fun (I also loved beating my brother in all the boss battles). I haven’t played it in a while though, probably should sometime soon.
I enjoy MP 10, but that’s ‘cause it was the only game I grew up with. It’s a nice comfort game for me and I love the mini games❤
I actually had a lot of fun playing Mario Part e for the e-Reader as a kid with my brothers, probably hasn't aged well, but it was playing Mario Party with a real board as a real board game, something neat if nothing else.
I spent way too much time in MP5 playing the Super Duel Mode. Being able to build your own machines with various weapons felt a lot like battlebots or the Bot Arena flash game.
0:24 The first 8 Mario Party are some of my favorite multiplayer games of all time.
Mario Party Advance: 😁😁😁
I always wanted a Mario Party Maker where you could make your own boards & mini games!!
Mario Party DS is the one I played the most and it's my fav Mario Party, I wish it was talked about more
Stupid how it's not acknowledged in the compilation games
It has some really good mini games
I absolutely love Mario Party 3 the best
