  • Dr. Milner has been blazing trails for nearly 70 years, and is one of the world’s most renowned scientists. In the 1950s she changed the course of brain science by identifying the specific brain region that is crucial to memory formation and by identifying multiple memory systems. Dr. Milner has continued to make major contributions to our knowledge of memory and language function. Nobel Prize winner Eric Kandel attributes her with creating the field of cognitive neuroscience.
    Dr. Milner has had an extraordinary influence on neuroscience, and on the work of hundreds of scientists around the world many of whom she trained and mentored and are now leaders in their domain.
