Prince William should avoid Prince Harry ‘like the plague’ at the Coronation, despite calls for the pair to reconcile. That’s the view of the Daily Mail’s Diary Editor Richard Eden, who believes the idea of a ‘jolly reunion’ is fanciful. ‘If I was Prince William, I’d avoid Prince Harry like the plague,’ he tells our royal talk show Palace Confidential. ‘He doesn’t need to speak to him, what he needs is an apology from Harry first for all the things that have been said. Where do you start? If it’s not Oprah Winfrey, it’s the Netflix series, his appalling memoirs where William comes out like some sort of villain from that book. The idea that they’ll have some sort of jolly reunion over a celebratory weekend is for the birds.’ His call comes after reports that the King held a heart to heart talk with his youngest son ahead of the Coronation. The Daily Mail’s royal editor Rebecca English says that among members of the Royal Family, communicating openly like that can be difficult, but says progress may have been made.

i question whether KC is being ill advised or ignoring advice. it doesn't matter how many years go by, the core of people and feelings and personality remain the same. The queen has tried different things over the years and realised that it hasn't worked. there does need to be some mystery attached to the monarchy, as well as humility , compassion and public service. LOYALTY includes being loyal to their own peers and ensuring that they feel 'cared for' .. if they feel cared for they will be more inclined to offer their support.

Back in 1953 for Queen Elizabeth's coronation they built what equated to a football stadium inside of Westminster Abbey to seat an extra 6,000 guests - the Abbey seats 2,000. King Charles is aware and thoughtful of expenditure - having stated on many occasion's that he wants to slim down the monarchy. Everyone can celebrate the Coronation of King Charles, just not everyone can be in the Abbey.

Okay Richard...if they are sticking to only those that have a role, as it is not a family event but a state occasion.....why on earth is Harry coming? Queen Elizabeth had the good sense to quietly exclude her uncle from her coronation, her coronation program and all other state occasions and just let him live quietly in obscurity. She was a wise woman, even back then. I think we'll have to see on the day - but the updates we're getting don't instill confidence in the stateliness of the ceremony. I do wish you journalists would stop with the whimsical predictions of 'the start of reconciliation' etc. Both the King and the Prince of Wales need to stay a very long arm's length from Harry, allow him to simply fall into irrelevancy. Any family conversations for healing are likely many years in the future.

I think her mother had a lot to do with that... and wisely so. I am sure the other members of the RF did their best to exclude H and hopefully, he will feel so ostracized that he will refuse to use his Titles etc... Or that now that KC is being formally crowned that the LOS will be revised so that #1, the royal representative will be there for the birth, or DNA will be required from the people involved and 2, that women including Princess Anne and her children will be included in the LOS... If Haz ever is in the position to assume the thrown that he and his children will be refused by parliament like his great uncle Eddie was refused...
@@marybusch6182 you have got so many things wrong. 1) Princess Anne has always been in the line of succession. The late Queen in 2012, revised a letters patent that female children to be before younger siblings. At the moment only the British government can take titles away and it has to be passed by parliament first. Henry will never be on the throne.

Lady Hicks family raised Prince Philip and gave him their name Mountbatten. Just bad look.
Even though they have been close, it is all broken now and beyond repair. From my own experience I can tell that certain very serious issues between siblings, who before went through a lot of trauma together and were always in full support of one another, which effect trust and mutual understanding will result in a permanently broken bond. A polite handshake, cold kiss on the cheeks is all that's is left and even that is already a huge effort. The less you see one another, the better. There even comes a point you do not thnk about each other any longer. So King Charles should therefor be very careful not to push Harry into the familily's and also William's lap again, just because he himself misses the former Harry so much. That Harry is history, he has changed beyond repair, and William is next to being hurt truly disgusted with Harry (and Meghan too). The brothers both have their own lives now, they should be left alone and in peace with a huge distance between them so they both can flourish instead of being pulled back into this nasty swamp with negative emotions Harry has created.
I am Australian and I just love the pomp and ceremony .. I wish Australia had something like it. I just love visiting the Palace and Westminster bridge is a favourite of mine. I believe that all the pomp and ceremony is what brings a lot of visitors, thus bring money into the UK. If it all went flat and the RF become the man next door it will lose a lot of interest. Yes it has magnificent country side and so much more, however I believe the RF is what a lot want to see. As for the discord in the family All families have some sort of upset. However I am very sad to see Prince Harry turn out this way. He was always my favourite but now I see him in a different light and it is not very nice. As for Meghan... what can I say? Nothing nice so I will leave it at that.

I love tuning into the broadcast to see who will inform and delight us today. Never disappointed. The interviews go from strength to strength. Richard is certainly dreamy, and very cute when he gets stroppy. And I wouldn’t let my husband do the bathroom tiles either. Rebecca wins on that one. I do think dropping the Dukes and hereditary lines is a big mistake, which William should rectify and balance. Otherwise, we’ll be left with neither baby nor bath water.
