Zaeed Massani the most badass merc in the Galaxy. He's now sharing stories on his past missions or contracts.
Why Zaeed is such a badass? Just watch and notice that Shepard doesn't talk at all. It's because when Zaeed talks, everybody is quiet.

Zaeed: "I once passed through the Omega 4 relay to attack the Collector Base. Hell of a thing. Three died before we even landed, then another one got hit in the face when trying to close the doors. Came up against some seekers swarms. Little bastards gave us hell, killed another one. More died on the way to the objective. After we set up the bomb, a giant human Reaper showed up. Toughest fight of my life. Took that thing down only wth a pistol. Only I made it out alive."

I swear to GOD he's based off of the character Robert Muldoon from 'Jurassic Park'. Grizzled british merc who knows entirely too much about guns. He's the guy who takes on two 'velociraptors' with his SPAS-12, and gets flanked. He says, "Clever girl..."
That is the inspiration for zaeed. I swear
@@Grimpy970 Hell, in the novel version, he survives. And he manages to kill a raptor with a rocket launcher.
So many of his stories end with his squad getting killed. No wonder he's a bad choice for squad leader in the suicide mission.

Inexperienced squad, they were more like the kid who bought a gun to take down Archangel(Garrus).

Zaeed's loyalty mission should've been Shepard finding a way to fix Jesse
He fixes it in me3. You can't see it though, because only thing that suggest that is message about "things bought by Zaed Massani" in Shadow broker terminal in Liara office and it contains repair kits and "Parts for Avenger - no longer continued series" or something like this

For all his stories about his bloody glorious escapades, sounded pretty cool when he praises Joker for surviving the Collector attack.

Today's the anniversary of Robin Sachs, one of the greatest actors in our lifespan.
"This one time I starred in a sequel where they replaced really a awesome squad for a bunch of whiny fools who incessantly moaned about Shepard's former association with Cerberus and needed consoling about random crap every two missions. The producers knocked me down to a cameo and made a bizarre ending that pissed the world off. I was the only one who left with his credibility intact."

@@khalduras784 half fair, but the whole game is predicated on being arrested for working with Cerberus. Despite the fact that you're a Spectre. I think James and Anderson mention it. In part 2, Tali certainly references it.
@@TheSamuraijim87 garrus mentions it aswell in me2. Mordin mentions it in me2. James mentionnit early on but often it was mostly in support of Shepard same goes for Hackett.
So the only ones who moaned are still just Kaidan/Ashley
Zaeed also has some interesting commentary on squadmates after recruiting them. For example, after mission Dossier: Archangel, he'll praise Garrus's sniping skills and say that both him and Garrus wanted the same thing: A lot of Mercs dead
one of the best characters in ME2.
In my ME2 ending, Zaeed was the only squad that got killed. Was especially sad bc of the last speech he gives before dying. He came very far in my game, close to becoming a good guy even. Plus, when only one guy dies in the suicide mission, it hurts even more when Shepard puts his hand on the coffin and walks away.

Love the dialogue about Zaeed's opinion of Joker. It seems as though Zaeed has a lot of respect for him, to the point that he would have let Joker grab any of the weapons in his room.
Zaeed is my favourite character to bring on mission's. In my first playthrough I brought him along on every mission, and in my second I brought him along with someone else.
Gotta love Bioware. They give you a "Don't smoke" message but with STYLE.

You know, after I recruit Tali I equip Zaeed with an Avenger Rifle and imagine that Tali fixed Jessie (which she could do). Strangely though, imagining the scene where he gets her back brings a tear to my eye.
The quote, "Get a knire stuck in the right way and you can put that plate right off a krogan's head. It's the best way to get a krogan to talk. The thrill of it drives him mad," was said twice.
I guess Heaven really needed a new warrior angel... You will never be forgotten, Mr. Sachs.

Also, there's two quotes you missed, one with Zaeed's reflection on his LM and his comment on Garrus:

Robin Sachs was able to record Zaeed's lines in the Mass Effect 3 "Citadel" DLC that comes out on the 5th. We will be able to see Zaeed one more time.

Zaeed is such an awesome character. I love just listening to his stories... too bad he wasn't fully fleshed out. They should've cut Jacob Taylor from the game and replaced him with Zaeed.

Thanks for posting this--really. When I first got Zaeed, I talked to him a lot (was a bit bummed there was no real dialogue) but eventually didn't have the patience to keep running down to Engineering to hear another anecdote. And now...now I don't have to! lol
So funny tho--whenever I think of a hanar, I always flashback to ME1 where you're trying to convince one to leave and (if you're a Renegade), Shepard says, "Because it's a big, stupid jellyfish!"

Zaeed Massani: A True Inspiration for the Children
Nice. I love Zaeed. I think he's a very underrated character.
Just a note, I can only think of a few stories you're missing. One is after you clear Jacobs loyalty mission, I forget how it goes, and the other is after the Horizon mission where he talks about how he rescued an 8 year old girl who killed her way out of a slaver camp. I run down to engineering after every mission for his stories, so if I find any others, I'll let you know.
I did a whole Renegade playthrough with Zaeed as my right hand man (permanent squad member) and it was badass. Combine Shepard's renegade actions with Zaeed's badassery and it was awesome. Even in the suicide mission I was going to see if I could Zaeed have an epic death, so I left him to hold the line ALONE. Yet he still survived, wtf?
Kind of reminds me of a kid playing at their Grandfather's place. Playing in his workshop with his tools, while Grampa waxes about his war stories.

And Javik. Jesus, I can just picture it. Eavesdrop on their conversations and play a drinking game: every time Javik says "in my cycle," take a shot. Every time Zaeed says "helluva" or "goddamn," shot. I promise you wouldn't last two minutes.

I love the story Zaeed tells about some guy puking inside his helmet and then when it was sloshing around everyone thought he had his brains blown away...Couldn't stop laughing during that part...

I really like the one when he talked about a kid who had no business in mercenary work. The kid apparently puked in his helmet, and when the ship hit turbulence, with all that stuff sloshing...the kid thought he was shot in the head.
When I heard Zaeed told it, I just LOLed for a good minute. Helluva a story. The kid became a governor. :)
