Donna and Thomas were in a relationship. But they broke up because Donna and Harvey had feelings for eachother. But Donna and Thomas didnt officially break up the day after Donna and Harvey slept together and got in a realtionship. The storyline is a bit more complicated than that, but that's basically it.
