Warhipster makes this look so easy. So I bought all the paints he used for this model and I am picking my model up Saturday. I got inspired to paint and tried painting my Ultramarines using the Ultramarines contrast and boy do I suck. Now I am all super worried about completing my Angron with contrast paints..... Damn you Washipster for making the process look so easy. LOL

After just painting Krondys, I have no idea how you paint big detailed models like this with a brush only! Airbrush was so useful on Krondys but this has so many more details!
I have done it before as well... on other models... I think it is just a matter that it takes a little longer without the air brush

This is my project for Saturday! Got all the paints and will do my best to follow your tutorial, I am excited to find out how much I can get done in one day. How long do you give the contrasts to dry approximately?
Would it look good if we were to add an extra highlight of Canoptek Alloy to the brass? I think this looks great but I'd like it to pop a bit more.

This looks great, and I think the basing came out great. I was debating a light vs dark scheme for my own and was drawn to this scheme.
They discontinued Astrogranite Debris though! Would you do the same thing with regular Astrogranite? Or find an alternative

Hey Josh, question: I did the Castellax Bronze Runelord Brass layer and it seems darker than the shaded Runelord Brass. It doesn't show much, just in some recesses. Would I correct this by adding some more shade to said recesses? It's not very noticable but it bugs me to know it's there.
Absolutely so if you want to add a bit more punch to some of the recesses something like some Agrax or some Nuln in a pinch can really punch up those bits you want a bit more shading.

I have another question Josh. I've watched this video numerous times and I didn't see what you did to the piping inside the gray cables. Did you hit it with Black Templar or something?
What a minute how do I have him already? No fair. Going with flesh tearer skin for a more darker version, and use good old Balthazar Gold.

would this work with red primer?
not without changing the entire guide, as all those contrast paints are designed to go over a whiteish/greyish primer in this case, but you could definitely prime him red if you are using traditional painting methods and paints
