Great car. I still haven’t had an opportunity to drive one.
Maybe because I’m not a BMW, Toyota, or Supra purist, but I never understood the hate on BMW and Toyota making this car together. German engineering and Japanese Passion seems like a win-win.

Agreed! You combine that with the fact other amazing cars like the GR Corolla and the GR 86 also are available right now from Toyota and you have to respect the fact Toyota found a way to give us all 3 of these incredible cars at the same time.

You have to build your own car in order to call yourself passionate about it. So this is still German engineering and German passion with a Toyota Sticker. Again I don't have a problem with Toyota partnering with BMW to give us the Supra and the fact Toyota made a special manual for it makes it even better. I have an FK8 Honda Civic Type R. I love that car. The body was made in the UK, the engine was made in the USA but I have no problems calling it a Japanese car because Honda is a Japanese company. Again the fact these companies are finding ways to make these sports cars with close to super car performance but without super car prices is a big win in my book.

The BMW B58 engine is one of the best on the market today, and has been very reliable. I would choose this Supra over the equivalent BMW Z4, and perhaps even over a BMW M2. I am not sure that I would spring for an Anniversary Edition, as the price increase will only be increased by greedy dealers and their ADM. But I would definitely look for one in 1-2 years, on the used car market.

I bought the 45th anniversary Mikan Blast in November. It is one of only 450, whereas the white 45th is common (in color) among so many other GR Supras. I chose the excellent ZF 8 auto transmission for many reasons:
      1) It's faster and gets better fuel mileage. ($5.50/gallon here)
      2) I can sip on a tall drink while driving.
      3) Adaptive cruise control is available with this transmission, only.
      4) My Miata has a 6-speed manual transmission.
      5) the excellent ZF 8 transmission is a blast to drive with or without the paddle shifters. In Sport mode, this transmission seems to know exactly when to downshift and keep the engine in the right Rev range, so that a quick tap of the gas pedal sends me rocketing - much faster than downshifting with a manual transmission version.

The only downside about German engineering is its excessive complication of certain features. To check the oil in my Supra, a sensor measures the height/volume while the engine is running. Sometimes, just because you CAN do something, doesn't mean you should. Simple is often better in the long run.

Very well done. I was waiting for your take on this car. Toyota is ABSOLUTLY killing it with their GR line of cars. When the Z was announced, for me it was a toss up between the Z and this Supra with the Z NISMO possibly being the tie breaker. Now that the NISMO Z is here and only in an automatic, it looks like it is the Supra with a manual for me. If there is one thing we can thank the whole EV push for it is the fact that passionate car brands are giving us some of the best gas powered gems ever made since at this point it is either now or never. I really have to put the money together to get this car. BTW, is there fake engine noise and if so, how bad is it and can it be turned off?

Toyota had a lot more involvement than most people, especially the haters realize. There are a few videos about it, but the chassis was co designed and the engine was revised based on Toyotas stress testing. Also designing an I6 in the current market is not the best. I can only think of a couple cars in Toyotas line up with the space under the hood for an I6. Keep in mind an I6 is going to need approximately the same length as a v12.
So yeah, I'll take my bmw performance with Toyota QC testing. It's not like the partnered with Yugo or Chrysler to make the Supra.
