I used to be a "give 100% no matter what you do" person. 20 years later I realize that giving 100% no matter what gets you overlooked and taken advantage of. Sure it felt good at the time to have a sense of pride about my work, but it led to burn out and killed my passion once I found out that my work ethic and drive was purposely taken advantage of. Not because I wasn't liked, but because they knew I gave 100% no matter what and it saved it them money while I got nothing but my barely above minimum wage hourly pay.

As a person who has done what you did, I learned so much. That's what was valuable at the time. Not the recognition from the company. Or my supervisors. It was the knowledge I gained. I'll share two of the most important lessons.
      1. I am always 110% when a supervisor is looking. Present or in the building. The higher the position of the supervisor, the better I am.
      2. If my performance will directly affect my bosses job. Or how his boss perceives THEIR performance; I exceed their expectations. (Make your boss look good to their boss)
The rest of the time, I do just enough to separate myself from the rest of the workers. A couple of things happen with this behavior. Coworkers know you're the one. They either step up or get exposed. It also allows me to keep my head right. I'm not too stressed and I'm not killing myself. I still maintain my "best worker here" title for myself and for those around me. I don't complain to people that matter... that you have to learn. Because your promotion might not have happened because a coworker ran their mouth.... I make a good living in retail. Now, I'm the guy that hires and promotes people.... keeping my mouth shut around coworkers was a major reason why.

Benoit was an absolute tragedy, I grew up just a couple blocks away from his parents and when I was a kid somewhere around 9 or 10 when Chris was still with Stampede Wrestling we walked by while they were hosting a bbq with a bunch of the guys. Of course we fanboid but they didn’t shun us, instead they asked us to stay for some dinner…for the next couple hours I got to talk to some of my biggest hero’s in a completely casual setting and they made us feel like we were part of the family. To this day, I legit tear up when I see anything about how it all ended, because it just didn’t make any sense for the guy I knew who had a huge heart and was more than giving, family and friends were everything to him.

Back in April of 2003, as a child, I attended my first Raw, in Milwaukee near where I lived, and was soooo excited. An episode of Sunday Night Heat was filmed right before, which Coach was cohosting at the time with Lita. I was probably annoying, because I kept waving at them…I was just thrilled to be there after wanting to attend Raw for over a year! Anyway, Coach *repeatedly* smiled/waved back at me. That was my first experience with a famous person and Coach was one of my favorites on WWE, so it really meant a lot to me! If you see this Coach, I was just a random young girl at a show 20 years ago, but what you did for me meant a lot to me as a child (thank you so much).

He is right about the fans and their obsession with the dirt sheets. I’ve heard people be mad about stuff that’s good because the sheets had them thinking that something else was supposed to happen. Even if that idea was never in consideration people will compare it to what they thought should happen. You wouldn’t enjoy a movie or a show that way what makes you think it’s different for wrestling

This has to be one of the most interesting interviews ever of someone who's been there for at least two decades and then got no respect. As a kid, Coach was somebody I genuinely enjoying whenever he would be doing interviews, or building. He was extremely funny, and he played the heel role so well. I really appreciate this interview man and thank God for Peacock. Reliving moments in the attitude era that I was too young to remember, and moments in Ruthless aggression that I may have forgotten. Chris, you asked some great questions man. Could tell Coach really enjoyed sitting with you. Also, you provided great POV’s to what the WWE is missing today.

Thanks for a great Interview! Looking at how eloquent and passionate he is in this interview, it really makes me sad how badly WWE treated him. And in spite of everything, he still manages to juggle being honest with being tactful in his replies. There's a lot of hurt, but he's not bitter about it, even as he's learnt to protect himself.
