Can you read my mind? This is what I wanted to learn next. Stay out of my search history.
Great as usual, thanks Grant! Although...I think the music in this video is too distracting. You don't need it. You talking/teaching is enough. Thanks.
I keep being undecided about this but i think i'm better leaving it out :)
@@grabbittwhat should I search for to get similar textures on google images like yours
@@kingkeyboard4556 brush alphas. I have a video about them
@@grabbitt I link please I just wanted to know where you got the ones in your video
@@kingkeyboard4556 i cant actually remember it was very long ago. But search for brush alphas and you'll find similar
Learned in 5 minutes and 35 seconds what I have not been able to figure out for a very long time. Thank you very much!
Great as always. Quick, precise, and easy to follow. Nothing unnecessary added, nothing necessary missing.
That's exactly what i was looking for, thank you!
Awesome as usual😘
You're saving me! I already lost like three days trying to figure out how to make an armour, tried many things but this is by far a better workflow!
good to hear :)
one of the best tutorials i have seen on youtube for blender .. thank you
Thanks :)
Thanks, I can't believe how much I learnt from this.
Nice! I will try this out later, but just by watching you do it i already learned some usefull stuff c:
Exactly what i needed to learn. Thanks!
Great tutorial! Thx
Amazing video as always
Damn this is exactly what I needed. Thanks a bunch!
An army of them running would be a Nice Animation, excellent tutorial
Awesome!!
Simple and awesome
Just what I needed. I love to do detailled models in zBrush but manual retopology is a pain. It's so much easier in Blender! Can't wait to use this for my Fallout 4 mod. :)
Would love to see what you were able to do with Fallout modelling if you would be able to share? Currently struggling to model some Heavy Combat Armour.
very well explained thank you
Grant awesome tutorial but please do a mouth and eye modelling and rigging tutorial
I had a hunch this was how you do it! Didn't know about shrinkwrap though. I figured it was all just snapping to surface
ohh super cool!! thanks
Shrink rap modifier OP
Cool!!!
You are an absolute don sir. Just subscribed!
Thanks :)
Amazing! and easy very much appreciated :D
thanks :) glad it helped. It's one way of going about creating clothing :)
@@grabbitt its so much easy ^^
Как всегда круто, спасибо :)
This is amazing
Nice music by the way :)
Haha. Yes it's fun but others are not happy with music and finding it distracting so i might have to lose the music from now on :)
awesome video!
it's so easy to see but when I tried it before alone in some way it turned out weird looking but thats now way cleaner and easier to understand, thanks :)
Thank you saved my ass
another tip gained!
I'm looking for this tutorial HAHAHA, btw I'm new.
Another great video tute Grant!
OK, dumb question(s) time. Is the multires modifier used (in this case) only to provide hi res information for the baking process? Will you disable/discard it after the baking?
Stuart O'Hara yes that's right. It's there for the normal map and textures
This is awesome! I am trying to build an armoured horse head to 3-D print for Warhammer fantasy models (to replace heads on my Empire models) - would this approach work here?
Yes
Do you think the best workflow is to extract you're mesh in dyntyopo to a 50% completed armor piece the retopo it and then multiresolution sculpt, do you need to retopo the multiresolution sculpt and then bake or can you use the multiresolution bake from it
There's lots of different ways but sculpting a multires is probably the most efficient
Does this work the same way in Blender 2.8? If now, I would like to request a remake of this video :-) Great content Grant.. Keep it up.. I'm learning right now, and this is GOLD!
Yes it does
Grant Abbitt nice. Thanks
I always wonder how armour is made in games.
How does the armour adjust its size and shape when adjusting the characters body size and shape?
shape keys and latices i assume but i dont actually know
Hey grant, I've got a question and this could be a future tutorial for you (when you have time for it): How do I skin the armour or other clothes so it will follow my rig/mesh when deforming? :/
What is so difficult about that though? you skin it like you skin anything else, apart from rigid armor pieces where all the influence should come from a single bone, at times you may need a dedicated bone for some of these pieces (like pauldrons), since seeing a solid metal object deform will look silly in most cases.
Yes as spheracul says you rig it in the same way. It is more problematic though s armour should not deform but often in games it does. If you want to keep it rigid then weight painting and keep it to just one bone
Hi. How do I create a full body armor using this method? I can't seem to make it work. Like, how do you connect the ends of the edges? If I use Fill, the faces are not filled. And some parts, even if it isn't an end, the faces are also not filled.
Not sure what you mean
@@grabbitt here's a screenshot of my result. drive.google.com/file/d/1pSRA8T-xnj0rVTojlZ_jdqKRI2n33Yc0/view?usp=sharing
As you can see, even if there's a closed polygon, the face isn't rendered. And also the part on the shoulder, the vertices are under the faces that's why I need to Alt + Z to just see the vertices. Here's my file if you want to see it better. drive.google.com/file/d/12TSzMrM2s37DlRhRj3vOJ12DaO1QMLcg/view?usp=sharing
Could you make a tutorial on how to sculpt wtf why did you speed that up?
I have lots of sculpting tutorials just search my channel or look on my website
Can we model it and export in zbrush and detail their ?
Yes
I Know this video is from a longtime ago, but technically speaking, is the armour video game ready or no?
Game ready is purely about being low poly so it depends on the polygon count
Oh i wish i could do this but my computer is weak, it stills runs windows 7
Sailor Mouth yes keep practicing on low poly stuff until you can upgrade. Low poly stuff can look amazing
thanks
The Music is Disputable ... but good explanation
Would you suggest deleting The "Skin" underneath a Character model, I Use Makehuman but the character will eventually be completely covered in Clothes and Armor plates.
yes
great video as always.. but the music is quite annoying ad distracting
yes i'll leave it out in future
Did you get that track from a 1990's exercise video? lol
Is this elephant p o a c h e r p r o o f ?
yeah when the armour's all finished :)
Why elephant? 😂
