- It may not keep you safe in outer space, but it sure would intimidate the mess out of anyone not giving you space. Special thanks to Gavin for my first commission work. Hope it lives up to the expectations. For this build I used: 10 mm, 8 mm, 6 mm, 4 mm, and 2 mm EVA foam, nLiten LED kit , battery bank, polystyrene sheet, contact cement, hot glue, super glue, Plasti Dip, spray paint, and some Plaid FX acrylic paints. You may also need the following tools: a Dremel with various bits, heat gun, and Exacto knife or box cutter. Let me know in the comments below if you would like to see more like this one, from shows, video games, or whatever. Please smack that like button, dropkick subscribe, and share with as many people as possible.

Thanks so much Thomas for the work and attention to detail you put in here, the creativity required to deal with some of the roadblocks really highlights your skill/competency in your craft. This is from my absolute favorite game series and I must say that you blew away my expectations! Can't wait to have it here in person, I can't emphasize enough how thankful I am you took on the project, much love!
Thanks for the challenge. It was definitely a difficult one to piece together, but it's what helps me to get better as a maker. I'm just glad that you can see what went into building it. Once I get it to you, if you need any help with it, just let me know. The electronics in it are super cool and allow you to easily add custom lighting effects to it. I literally just messed around for 30 minutes with it. You could add so much more tobit if you wanted to. I actually know the guy who created it
@@MuchProps For sure! I was impressed by the way you were able to create the template given all the nuisances the remake version had I will definitely keep in touch here. Once again, totally excited to have this one of one piece you've made(:
Spectacular!
Thanks
Making my own right now thanks so much for the templates!!
Glad I could help. Let me know how it turns out
@@MuchProps will do!
This game was absolutely groundbreaking when it came out in 2008. It was uniquely scary and had a more unconventional style of HUD which made it feel like a more emersive experience. Sadly I don't think that the two sequels were able live up to the same standard.
The second one was pretty good, but that third game was just abysmal. Turned into an action shooter, while forgetting it's supposed to be a survival horror experience.
The remake was great, tho.
While doing my research on the facts, it was interesting to see other people's passion for it. Some claimed Dead Space saved the horror genre of video games. It's nice to learn things about the props I build. Gives me a bigger appreciation of the time so many people poured into a project.
this is incredible work and the editing is great. very enjoyable to watch. I love dead space
Thanks so much. It was a difficult one to piece together. So many details I wanted to get just right
The hype is REAL!!!!!
😁👊
Amazing work as always! A true inspiration!
🤗 you are too kind
wicked wicked wicked!!!!!!! So lookin forward to patterns :) You rock as always brother!!
Thanks. I will try to get them up today. I still have a lot of work to get them ready and comprehensive. It's another couple of hours. Check back this afternoon.
Amazing!!
Thanks
This is so cool Thomas! I love this game sooo much.
Glad you liked it.
I want a helmet like that
It was a difficult one to piece together, for sure. There is a free te.plate in the description if you want to give it a go
Que buen trabajo, felicidades
Cómo siempre un capo
Thanks so much. Glad you enjoyed it
A pretty epic build, Thomas! I'm sure Gavin will love it. Definitely a Master Level build. Love all the attention to detail. Nicely done, sir!
Thanks. It was a fun challenge. Glad you liked it my friend.
I'm so psyched for this build
Thanks. It was a monster to figure out, but I am really happy with the results.

I love this channel 🖤❤️🖤
😁👊
I won't do commissions at all. I did one time, and that was the last time. My friend was happy with the end result, but the end result wasn't the first version. I didn't have great references and got a few details wrong, so I had to redo it a total of 3 times. It cost me more time and effort than it was worth. Being a friend, he understood and paid for the materials, so it wasn't too bad. I can't imagine doing a commission for somebody less understanding.
You did a good job on this one. I'm sure the customer's happy with it.
That was my biggest hesitation, worried that I would get something wrong. I am usually very critical of my own work, so I knew it would increase my stress. Luckily, Gavin loved the build. It's definitely not something I would like to subject myself on a regular basis but was a good experience in this instance
This is amazing, and to make templates for it also, epic! You are a legend
I'm glad you like it! It was an intricate puzzle to try and figure out. Hopefully, it will make it easier for others to tackle.
Awesome!
Thanks
Damn Thomas, this is just beautiful. I love figuring out foam layers
Thanks. It was a bit daunting to figure out, but I'm so glad to have taken on the challenge.
12:38 just had to start over on a Spider-Man costume I was working on, your words of encouragement are much appreciated.
It's easy to look at an edited video and think the person never makes mistakes. I try to show mine when I can. Failure is part of the process and how you get better as a maker and a person. Learn from every process, and the less you will see failure as an end. Keep your creativity alive and bury your self-doubt with every obstacle you overcome.
Excellent work, as always. :)
Thanks 😁👊
Awesome, one of my favorite games.👍
Thanks. I really like the armor set.
Damn great build. Made me remember how I started doing cosplay. Dived right in without knowing anything and completely f'ed up my helmet. I then proceeded to pick something more beginner friendly for myself haha
Thanks. I've been making things for a majority of my life and still love the process of learning new skills. The best way to learn is often diving in, making mistakes, and finding solutions from failures.
It's so intricate! I love it. Using the NLiten kits and Bekonix is so easy. I was surprised how simple it was to create lighting patterns the first time I tried. I bet your brother's friend loves the helmet
Thanks so much. It was a tricky one to figure out for sure. Those nLiten kits really are super cool. I think Gavin will enjoy it.
Now it would be cool if you could build the Plasma Cutter
Don't think I wasn't eyeballing it too. LOL
Epic. Absolutely epic. This must be one of the most intense builds I have ever seen you make. The reason I think this build is Epic is due to all the hard yards you put in over the years perfecting the craft, making mistakes and learning from them. And I thought the ray gun was awesome (it is…).
It's really easy for people to watch a 15 to 30 minute video and not realize that there is more to a build than what you see in the clips. I have put 40+ hours a week for over 6 years teaching myself these skills on top of my full-time job. It really does make my day for someone to see the work I have put into becoming a better maker. Thanks for always being so positive and supportive. I struggle with self-doubt, and people like you keep me pushing my creativity and skills.
Would love to see you take on the colonial viper helmets from the new Battlestar Galactica.
Thanks for the suggestion
Cool helmet Thomas... Need to do something like that with Dr. Fate's helmet. But when it comes to the inside lights, you need to add a motion detector to it so it lights up everytime someone walks by it... Like the helmet is choosing that person.
LOL. Cool idea. I sold the Fate helmet recently and don't have any more of those LED kits. But that would be an interesting addition
Thats freakin awesome mate. Much Props! Would love to see some Xcom stuff hahah. (No one seems to cosplay it 🤔)
Glad you liked it. And thanks for the suggestion.
Make more helmets, please!! It’s great
LOL. I've got tons more that I would like to make.
That's so lit! A friend of mine is a fan of the series, so I thought maybe I could make something like this. But damn, you sure are a master on this! Do you mind if I ask how much it costed you in production?
The total cost of materials for me was around $200 or so. I spent about 20 to 30 or so hours working on it. Have fun.
Hey coach hanna watch twisted metal yet. I remember playing in play station back in the day. I would love to see a sweet tooth mask
I have not seen the show, but you are in luck, I made the mask already. czcams.com/video/2nwz_gYALsc/video.html
This is AWESOME! I love the attention to detail!
Thanks so much. I wanted to get it as close as I could for Gavin. Hopefully it helps others to tackle this iconic helmet
Looks pretty awesome, but my question is, how is the visibility? I take it you see through the middle one?
You can see decent out of it with the lights off. Obviously, the view is obstructed with bars going through, but at least there are multiple slats. When the light goes on, it's super hard to see anything.
next do the dead space 2 security helmet
Thanks for the suggestion
This is amazing, if I wanted to have it the same size should I print the templates on a A4 sized paper?
@pootistoaster5396 the paper size I scanned it in on is US letter size, which is slightly different than A4. A4 is 8.27 in x 11.69 in. US Letter is 8.5 in x 11 in. So printing on A4 might distort the helmet a little
@@MuchProps oh well if it ends up a little bigger it's fine then, thank you for responding!
everything is not so bad cool helmet super and will be able to elf helmet ? ;)
Glad you liked the helmet. And thanks for the suggestion
Where i can find the molds to draw the foam?
Templates are in the description below the video, last link.
And i am wondering if you still have that wall-e i remember when it was in your class room i would like to buy it if you have it still
Sorry Wall-e is a staple in my classroom. I will try and keep you in mind if I ever decide to get rid of him.
Hi Thomas. I've never done cosplay but I would love to tackle this build, but the link in the description doesn't work anymore =( Do you have another way to download?
The service I used, Adobe Creative Cloud stopped it's share abilities. I made my own website to avoid this issue moving forward, which has all my templates, categorized in one place. It is www.muchpropsstudios.com . I now have to relink over 250 templates. Try it now.
@@MuchProps This is fantastic thanks! I have zero experience so detailed templates help me feel more confident. Transferring all those templates over does sound like a pain :/
Why should Gavin get a commission when the rest of us have to use Etsy? I hope you charged him more than 200$ like that indie stone...
?
