    Thanks again.

    I put the fuel pump connect to a light bulb. Turned the ignition to 2. The light bulb lite up for 2-3 seconds then turned off. Is bulb supposed to turn off after 2-3secs?

    • @LehewTech
      @LehewTech  Před 2 lety

      Yes, it only runs for a few seconds to prime the pump.. once the engine is running the pump will recieve continuous power

    Great video. When my 2005 Honda Accord is parked for awhile 12hours+ when I go to start it, it try’s to start but doesn’t fire. But when I try to start it the second time it fires up fine. Any ideas? I feel like it has something to do with getting fuel.

      Did you find out what was wrong?

    • @that70shome19
      @that70shome19 Před 2 lety +1

      @@SonidoExplosivo well changed the fuel pump and worked great for a few months but then started doing it again. Asked the guy at auto zone and he said sounds like it could be a dirty cylinder head in the motor and maybe got some bad gas somewhere. So bought a fuel cleaner and it’s worked great for over a month now. He said may just have to use a fuel cleaner every few months?

    • @SonidoExplosivo
      @SonidoExplosivo Před 2 lety +1

      @@that70shome19 thanks man I have the same issue with a 2007 V6. I’m changing the fuel pump and was also thinking about charging the fuel pump relay but maybe the cleaner will do the trick.

    • @that70shome19
      @that70shome19 Před 2 lety

      @@SonidoExplosivo yeah the guys at autozone said since I had success for a month or so after changing the fuel pump and then it started messing up again they thought it could be some dirty gas or a dirty piston . I haven’t had anymore trouble for over a month after using some fuel cleaner. I have another one on hand incase it starts happening again but haven’t had to use it.

    Do you test the fuel pump while the car is running?

    • @nunyabusiness5075
      @nunyabusiness5075 Před rokem

      No, the car doesn't have to be running, just turn the key to ON (not start) and the fuel pump will run until there's enough pressure in the fuel line. You can hear it. IF you want to drain the fuel tank for some reason, jumper the relay and disconnect the fuel line from the fuel pump, connect a hose to the fuel pump (3/8" inside diameter hose with a hose clamp works nicely) and put the hose into an empty gas can....moving the key to ON will start the fuel pump and turning it to off will stop the fuel pump. I think the fuel tank on a North American Accord is 17 gallons.

    Can this fuse/relays cause you to have the 'P0171' (system too lean) code?

    • @uyiokunbor8812
      @uyiokunbor8812 Před rokem

      Partially yes, when your fuel pump is running low on fuel pressuring force to your car engine

    • @uyiokunbor8812
      @uyiokunbor8812 Před rokem

      Another reason for p0171 is when you have leakage of manifold looping, or vacuum leakage or your mass air flow sensor has leakage (might not tensioned enough to the air box
