@@proish6889 just search for it, link worked before
@@proish6889 nevermind looks like the channel is gone for some reason
Died before it could ever live 😅
So much for that
Nick knew when he recorded this what was coming soon. He knew in his soul. You can hear it.
The 3MR series is my favorite from this channel as a whole, so if this seperate channel means more content from that team then I'm all for it!
I don't watch every video on the channel but I do watch every 3MR review.
That's awesome, thanks for supporting it!
Who else is here after Nick's and Yahtzee's interview on MinnMax? For those who weren't, Nick talked specifically about how his corporate overlords didn't like how transparent he was in this update. Really a great standalone example of upper management's fatal flaw that led to the creation of Second Wind-not appreciating Nick's open, community-focused approach and not understanding how much they'd be losing by kicking him out.
Interesting.
I haven't watched it yet but will soon.
I previously commented here pre firing about how that transparency was unexpected yet refreshing and appreciated.
After the brouhaha I wondered how much the "new" and improved escapist of the last few years that focused on quality content and maintaining a dedicated core of paying subscribers first and foremost, with ad revenue never being allowed to impact content quality, was due to upper management working through him vs his decision alone, possibly even against the whims of the owners, and I definitely have my answer now.
Honestly, 3MR was one of the escapist shows I actually watched, and Nick's assertion that it was search driven and not personality driven is a big reason for that. If I wanted to know whether to check out an indie game, this was the series I'd go to. If I wanted laughs of analysis, ZP is where I'd turn to
congratulations to the higher-ups at the escapist/gamurs for killing this idea before it was even born
Soooooo, now that Stratos isn't happening will 3MR be landing on Second Wind?
This is an absolute gold standard for explaining why things change. Looking forward to youtube fucking over my subscription feed to hide you guys in new and exciting ways.
Frfr
Glad these are doing well enough for their own channel. Love the videos!
This makes sense. Indie games come out fast and furious, so 3MR can pump out content quickly. Looking forward to it!
Don't get confused by the vocal minority. This is a smart move. I dont personally watch 3MR, but as a fellow content creator i believe your idea is sound. It'll also boost the CTR% here, dont forget that.
Yup, that's the plan.
Less uploads, higher CTR across both channels.
Hell yeah! So great to see that crew doing well.
Thanks for the succinct and pretty sound explanation of the change - hope it works out well for both channels' growth!
Honestly, I can always use more 3MR so if being on a separate channel enables that, I'm all for it. Regardless, I don't see how it can possibly hurt
Good to see that Nick dropped the Elizabeth Holmes voice/act - and is speaking normally :-D
Subbed and ready to roll!
I like that The Escapist is being open about how the sausage is made.
I'm used to vague borderline dishonest boilerplate statements like "to better serve you the viewer" or whatever that when I actually get straight talk it takes some getting used to but it is also appreciated.
Subscribed. I truly appreciate the transparency you operate the channel with. Seeing it in response to my comment on the discord and an entire video dedicated to further explaining the move, all I can do is continue to support. Re-subscribed and increased my tier. I hate the feed pollution that a lot of other channels on the platform seem to be doing, but this ain't that. lol
A dedicated (mostly) indie game channel? Sounds good!
I always wondered why some channels do this. I just assumed it was to give series creator's more breathing room. Thanks for the explanation.
It's honestly a smart move. Your channel currently seems to be hosting two distinct audiences, and CZcams doesn't like that at all, separating it into two channels is the best move for the two kinds of content to both perform better and find their niche.
Neat
Thank you for the transparency in this move.
And I'm subbed. Thanks for the heads up!
I love me some 3MR! Hope the experiment pays off
Makes total sense. Subbed to both 👍
Huh, actually makes sense.
Good luck with the new channel!
Link to the channel doesn't work. Idea scrapped?
I'd be interested in combining all the 15min and shorter videos in one channel, because I'm always watching several of those in my lunch time etc.
I'm never watching your longer videos, because I'm listening to podcasts instead when doing things off the screen.
But it's nice that you'd be willing to merge both channels again if it doesn't work out.
TBH apart from the streams I watch all the Escapist content now. Really solid lineup!
1:10 Love that personal touch, lol
As long as I still get to watch 3MR and the other content I enjoy from you guys I'm happy to throw a sub to a new channel😊 Cheers team! 🍻
Nice, subbed.
Gameumentary needs to come back to life
Subbed, and i have only seen one or two of these
Well said, Nick. Well said.
So far I've been wary of some moves from new Escapist but they've had a pretty good hit rate. It doesn't make a difference to me since I click in my subs window anyway. As long as you've set a clear target to know whether it should be maintained or reversed, a brief experiment also won't hurt much.
I watched 3 Minute Reviews before Escapist bought / absorbed them, so I am glad to be able to go back to only subscribing to them!
I mean, they HAD a dedicated channel before you bought them lmao. They're the only videos of this channel I watch (and the reason I subbed) so I'm happy the rest of the videos won't clutter my feed anymore!
I started them up over on Gameumentary, and then when I became EIC of Escapist I moved them over here, so they've never really had their own channel specifically.
Will the old 3MRs get reuploads/removed or will it just be new 3MRs from November forward?
The old 3MRs are staying here on the main channel, and new ones will start being uploaded on the new channel on November 1st. We'll also add them to the playlist that exists on this channel.
@@theescapist Works for me. I was just concerned the old ones would vanish completely in an attempt to clean up the main channel. Glad that won't be the case.
Heck yes! Sounds like a good idea to me, let'S see how it goes xD
I support this idea. I think it could work well.
Your higher ups are thinking about this the wrong way, reviews pull in viewers who wouldn't normally watch your channel because they are looking for information on that specific game. People don't typically just watch review content for the sake of watching it. Splitting it off into its own channel makes very little sense and will, if anything, just hurt the inflow of new viewers for the main channel.
ive got a billion channel subscriptions already so id rather just have yall keep it on escapist and
good to know
Neat. Already subbed
is No Punctuation going to be paired with it? I've enjoyed watching both sides of those. They're extremely informative and fortunate for understanding the worth of a game.
Edit: I got my answer later... but still I have paired them together. You could possibly point to some corresponding No Punctuation videos on the main channel if viable.
i hope it works out c:
....I understand it may be better for sustaining the format better on CZcams but I can't say I'm particularly interested. Best of luck
I would personally appreciate a second channel for all short form content such as Zero Punctuation, anything really to separate stuff I watch from livestream notifications.
I think this should be a good direction. The shorter form content 3MR supplies should really please the YT algo on a new channel. I've already popped over and subscribed because I love 3MR. Scratches that itch of learning what a new game is about without sifting through the lampoonery that is ZP (and I love ZP and have watched it for an embarrassing number of years)
uh, ok?
I mean, I'll watch it on either channel, so w/e
Yeah, go ahead.
Is anyone else kind if underwhelmed by 3mr? I can't really hate on it by any means but the reason I keep coming back to this channel is for laughs. But hey, if y'all are reading this escapist, good luck with everything and I look forward to this week's zp
They’re really just our way of covering a lot of different games that normally don’t get a lot of coverage on other outlets of our size.
@@theescapist a worthy pursuit!
Link in the description? -- Edit: was not showing on a 3rd party mobile app.
Yup, right at the top of the doobley doo
Channel doesn't exist (404 Not found).
Core ppl (such as Nick) were fired, so a bunch more quit and set up their own channel.
This is a dead project and so is the escapist
I guess it's a sound theory but the issue is currently 1.26 million subscribers vs 6810. And even is you gain more subscribers on the other channel that doesn't mean each will watch every single review...
Awesome
Go ahead and do whatever you think you need to do to make best use of the algorithm. It makes no real difference to me since i just watch what is in my sub feed either way
aaaaaaaaand subscribed
This'll be good, the main channel got a little cluttered.... BTW subscribed!
I always felt 3MRs didn't really fit in well with the rest of the channel's content so I'm totally for this
you need to maby do some video to get people to the siwtch!
Not really understanding the youtube game, I'm in no position to know if it's a good move, but I very much plan to keep watching your videos on whatever channel you plan to publish them :)
Sweet
Didn't 2 Minute Reviews have their own channel before being gobbled by Escapist? Time is a flat circle
I started them up over on Gameumentary, and then when I became EIC of Escapist I moved them over here.
Already subscribed
For me it's great for the other way around. I love Cold Take and ZP, but didn't want to subscribe because my subscriptions would get flooded with 3MR videos. I hope it stays like that!
This but with the livestream videos. Every time I come back to CZcams, there are at least 3 or 4 livestreams in my feed.
Okayyyy....I thought this didn't work before by putting movie content on its own channel, but okayyyy....
nice
Wasn't it its own channel in the first place before it was bought out?
Nope. We started it back on my Gameumentary channel as 2 Minute Reviews. And then when I became EIC at Escapist, I moved it over here. - Nick
@@theescapist ah, gotcha, got my facts confused then. The idea makes sense, but it's a shame that CZcams causes so much friction
I'd rather have a separate channel for all the let's plays because I don't watch those, but whatever... if that's good for the Escapist I will get yet another channel in my list
tell your parent company they're shit for killing 3MR
I'm assuming the new 3MR channel is dead now, yeah?
...
Sadly with the Escapist to follow soon, i suspect.
Yup, the 3-minute Escapist channel is gone now
Soooo... Where is it?
Just my opinion, but bad move. Long form content like steams should be put on another channel and keep the short form stuff in one place.
I really wish you would do this is all the livestream videos. I have no interest in watching them and they plug up my feed.
I hate when channels do this. The last thing I need is more channels to subscribe to.
It's an unfortunate reality of how CZcams works. There's no proper system for dividing videos on the one channel, and the algorithm seems to cause problems for channels with many kinds of videos
I don’t get the issue. As long as they aren’t double-posting, you get all your videos in the same subscription feed anyway. Literally click one button, and and nothing else changes for you.
Yup, they could fix this entire issue if they just made it possible to subscribe to playlists. We want that feature as much as everyone else.@@whitewolf0487
Community consensus was asked for and was mostly for keeping content on one place. The algo is going to likely lower the view count on them imo
If the idea was new reach or getting by minor shadow bans or limits, low hanging fruit content may have been a safer bet. Im sure there's more at play here but not my wheelhouse gl
I do not want to subscribe to a whole new channel just for the 3MR's. I like them but not enough for a dedicated channel.
Might work for Zero Punctuation, but I don't see any benefit to adding Yet Another Subscription just for 3MR. Best of luck, but I won't be along for the ride.
How is it an issue? It all shows up in the same feed regardless if it’s on one channel or multiple. Literally takes 3 clicks (description > channel > subscribe) and you never have to worry about it again.
Nooooo!!!
Next stop: 30sr for fellow tiktok lovers over there
Just kidding. I would watch as many 3mr videos as you can produce. Dedicated channel for them would only save me a couple of clicks once a week tho
What happened??
I'm admittedly not a fan of the split but I understand it's necessary for analytic reasons. I'm glad the show's doing so well, at least.
3mr is the best idea in years from any youtube creator. #makeyoutubeshortagain (but without using CZcams shorts)
I watch most of your videos, but am not subscribed because when I did the livestreams cluttered my subfeed
Don't know if this is helpful feedback, but will sub to the 3MR channel.
Keep up the good work👍
Honestly, while I do understand the 3MR format not quite vibing with the tone of the other larger series on the channel, I think those extremely long format let's play vids would make much more sense on their own, individual channel. Everything else on this channel is very easily digestible, but I've literally never had enough time to even watch one of those.
Don’t know why some are complaining. You hit subscribe, and nothing else changes for you. It all gets fed into your feed anyway.
I do enjoy the 3 Minute Reviews, but separating them onto their own channel makes sense. On this channel, it amounts to a bunch of clutter
Hi! I tried to subscribe but the link doesn't work for me. It says: page not found. Could you help me out? Thx
Core ppl (such as Nick) were fired, so a bunch more quit and set up their own channel
@@YothaIndi thanks, sorry to hear that. What is the name of their channel?
@@massimobolandrini9294
Second Wind
Now make another channel for your MULTI HOUR content so it stops cluttering my feed!
Really not sure i agree with this, but if it makes you guys more money to keep making good content than I'm there.
What happened? :(
I love 3MR but I really don't want to subscribe to a new channel.
Guess the poll you guys made about asking for this and the majority being like "keep everything in one channel" meant nothing at all.
Oh well.
That's not what the poll was for. It was to see what the interest level is. We knew the majority were not here for 3 Minute Reviews so it was to see how many WOULD be interested in a dedicated channel.
Sounds like your parent company wants to tank views for 3 Minute Reviews, for some reason, because this plan virtually never works. Keeping all of your shows on one channel where you have a large, established user base is the only sane thing to do, even if one or two other shows clearly dominate the channel.
Personally? I'm not so attached to 3 Minute Reviews that I'll add it to my already bloated list of subscriptions and I won't really miss it if it doesn't show up in my feed anymore because it's now on a new, tiny channel that the algorithm won't bother pushing much.
Our Stratos experiment has been going well with multiple videos cracking 10,000 views on a channel with less than 2500 subs. It can work and pretty much any time you search for a review of a game we've covered in 3MR, we're in the top 3 - 5 results.
Thats one way of starting no nut november
This only brings attention to the amount of crap on this channel I don't watch. As for your "premium" subscriptions, glad they are working for you, but plenty of channels get by with ad deals, merch, and "premium" content for patrons and the like. I hate to say it, but I feel like a few shows are propping up a whole lot more here. I wish there was a way to support the Escapist creators I enjoy, while letting others support those I don't care for (but they love). Its time to break up and break out of an old model.
