In the early hours of 2024 I told myself - "I'm not gonna buy so many books this year. I should save my money, I already own so many books that I need to read, or should re-read." Oh, Marie of the past, how young and full of hope you were. And so very naive... 😁😁😁
Hahaha I tell myself that all the time and never stick to it
Where’s the fun in that 😂 I too have more books than I can read but it’s the life of a reader ❤
STATIC by me Stacey L. Pierson will be out this October as well. It’s about a ghost, Jesse who is trapped in the 90s and being haunted by the living. There’s Groundhog Day, dual timelines, a toxic mother daughter relationship and a major haunting.
Have already book hauled last week...then decided to book haul out of my personal library...now I've created another buy list. I got problems 😂
Some books I’m super excited for:
-Ghost Station by SA Barnes, a space horror about a crew that dies one by one
-Bury Your Gays by Chuck Tingle, about a gay screenwriter who gets haunted
-The Eyes Are the Best Part by Monika Kim, where a woman gets obsessed with the idea of eating human eyes
Bury Your Gays sounds good and so does The Eyes Are The Best Part! I’m also interested in Ghost Station.
There’s so many on this list I haven’t heard of!! 👀 so many great horror books coming out this year I can’t wait!
So many books, so little time 😅
There’s a lot of cursed film books coming out that started last year with that trend of the cursed film book like burn the negative and silver nitrate
the new cj tudor sounds pretty good.
but grady hendrix has a new one coming in july called 'witchcraft for wayward girls' that i'll be checking out.
some of the other authors mentioned i've read something of and wasn't that impressed (the troop by nick cutter/paul tremblay's work in general).
So excited for a lot of these books!! My TBR just continues to grow!!!
Lot of great books. Thanks for the video.
Thank you for listing the books in the description 🙏 I wish more book CZcamsrs would do that
I try! Sometimes I forget tho 😂
So stoked
I've read every Sarah Langan book. Can't wait for her next one!
I really need my book buying ban to end because there are so many books I already want. Webster is my first must have. Smithy was one of my top books last year. Mers from Harpies in the Trees recommended it.
So many of these sound great! Definitely adding a lot of these to my tbr list. I too love arctic and Antarctic based horror. sounds like it will be a good year for those types of stories as well as cursed films!
You mentioned wanting to read more books on horror movies. If you like folk horror (I can't remember if you do or not), there is an excellent book called We don't Go Back by Howard David Ingham that is both a watch list as well as essays about the films and the genre in general
Ohh that sounds cool. Thank you for the rec!
Most looking forward to "Incidents Around the House" and "All the Fiends of Hell"
So many interesting books coming out!!! I’m looking forward to Rest Stop. I love gas station settings in horror! I also love the throwback slasher genre so can’t wait to see what you think of them when they come out. I really appreciate these videos. They’re just a great reference for the years TBR . Since you and I have similar taste I’m so excited for your reviews. If you haven’t read Tales from the Gas Station yet I highly recommend 💀❤️
I also love gas station set horror lol. I’m very excited for Rest Stop!
I'm looking forward to Headless, by Scott Cole, Day of The Door, by Laurel Hightower
Hope you enjoy We Used to Live Here!
among the living: sounds like the thing
i can’t wait for what feasts at night! also, i could’ve sworn the rule of three is being sold in the bookstore i work at?? super strange but i’ll definitely be having a look next time i’m on shift!
I was wondering that too when looking up some of the books. Maybe some are now available in paperback when they weren’t before? Either way I’m excited to read them!
Thinking, Fast and Slow
The Art of Thinking Clearly
Loved to video! But isnt ghost camera already out yet? I read it a few months ago but with another cover (yes from the same author) 😅 so maybe you can read it now instead of waiting :) ❤
I think it’s being republished!
Think there’s only 3 I’m interested in. Sadly quite a few seem either similar to other published books, or movies
I want to give you a book rec. I bought this book & read it a couple years ago & no one ever talks about it. It's titled The Unwelcome by Jacob Steven Mohr. I think you would like it.
Cool, thanks!
Rest stop sounds amazing! And we have to wait until October!!?? This is just cruel 😂☹️
I know!!
Instead of saying cicada, you could say Katie did because that’s another name for a cicada
Webster is a sequel. Smithy is the first book from Amanda Desiree.
Ohhh! Do I need to read the first one?
Yes. The first book introduces you to smithy(chimpanzee)in the haunted mansion and science project they were conducting. I really enjoyed the story. If you like episode thirteen, you like this book. It is written with articles and diary entries.
@@lynnholloway5144 cool, thanks for letting me know. I’ll have to check out the first book!
I cannot wait for Webster. Smithy was so good. It's a found footage haunted house novel set in the 70s.
