  • Kim Jong-un is preparing North Korea for war, and that war is going to happen sooner rather than later. Like his grandfather before in 1950, Kim Jong-un has made a strategic decision to go to war. But will North Korea really start a war in 2024? Watch now and find out!

NK have almost a hundred of nukes. 1 modern day nuke can make a thousand times of damage of hiroshima nuke.
And 50%(25 millon) of South Koreans live in a densely populated small city of Seoul(Capital). Just imagine how much damage NK can do just by targeting Seoul. So NK will win the war due to Nuclear capabilities.
And US won't take the risk of sacrificing their cities, economy, families and children for a small foreign country like Korea. Don't think US would do such sacrifice after seeing what NK did to SK cities. So US won't intervene.

Honestly, the distance between Pyongyang and the DMZ is just over 150 kilometers, but the possibility of KJU not stupid use of nuclear warheads in the narrow central part of the Korean Peninsula, or in the southern part of the country, which could also affect Japan, would converge to zero if he had at least no learning and mental insanity. Why have they kept focusing on ICBMs or nuclear development over the past 3 decades and repeated launches? even if they're targeting close by during the world war lll, or in their really last moments, they're going to be targeting the at least in Yokohama or Tokyo, or long distances standard is US mainland.

Considering the famine and the extreme lack of basic supplies (i.e. rations and basic supplies for troops) and thier poor economy and poverty I only see Kim Jong Un only being able to start a war, not being able to contend with or be able to finish it.
My point in summary: North Korea's only two strategic advantages is its aging stockpile of artillery and WMDs aside from that there is no way they can actively field a war, they can only try and force other nations to the negotiating table by holding Seoul hostage.

You guys do realize that North and South Korea have been at war since June 25, 1950. The "end" of the war was just the end of the active-fighting. There was no formal peace-treaty, just a cease-fire.
So the war has been on-going for the past 74 years, the two have been hostile since their inception. The NK military doesn't have the capability to engage and defeat the SK military. Even with the nukes the north has, they would still get crushed. They don't have a lot of options to deliver a nuke. An air-dropped weapon would likely not get far against the air-defence of the south. Putting a warhead on a missile is much harder than most people think. A warhead has to be miniaturized, hardened against vibration, and protected against re-entry. All of which present their own challenges. The first successful ICBMs in the US & USSR were being tested and operational in 1959-60, over a decade after developing air-dropped weapons. The US & USSR had vastly greater resources to commit to these projects than NK could dream of having.

This is and never was about foreign policy, but about internal politics. Kim must control his own people, and for that, he must show an outside enemy to show himself as the only one who can save his country. The reason he has been provoking is that his power inside his country is becoming less stable and is shown in increased provocations. This trend only stopped during Trump administration, when Trump provided him prestige through negotiations.

Up to now, it has been considered that a full-scale attack by N. Korea on the South would be horrific for both sides, and one of the results would be the end of the Kim dynasty. So, assuming Kim Jong Un is not suicidal, he must obtain the backing of China. Russia didn't get those million artillery shells for nothing, and probably gave Kim technology. But Russia is not really in a position to back Kim up militarily. China is more in such a position, but it probably doesn't want a full-scale war with nuclear weapons right next door. So superficially, it would appear unlikely that Kim decides to go to war.
But: if he co-ordinates his attack with Putin making some simultaneous attack in E. Europe, he may think he's got a chance, and maybe would force China's hand to get involved with a "fait accompli" of war on its border that it needs to do something about. A highly risky gamble, but so was Pearl Harbor - the Japanese went ahead anyway.

It would even take much more than that. NK having any chance of seeing a war through depends on China stirring up trouble with Taiwan _and__ Japan, Russia invading in Europe and all of that in a surprise attack no one sees coming. That is essentially impossible to pull off, you cannot conceal troop movements of that scale; Russia was amassing forces on the border of Ukraine for more than a year before the eventual invasion, and it would need much more to make a dent when it comes to NATO territory. China likewise cannot go for Taiwan undetected, it would be signalling that amphibious operation months in advance. NK is the only one that this scenario hinges upon that can actually 'hide' forces before such an invasion, but then again, NK going it alone may start the war, but cannot see it through.

This could potentially be bad. Two things are needed to ensure South Korea's safety.
    1. A strong military presence capable of matching North Korea's might blow for blow.
    2. Active US participation which will certainly take the nuclear option off the table for North Korea.
I believe that any US intervention will lead to a peace deal probably with China arguing on behalf of pyonyang. Of course any deal that could lead to peace would be less than favorable to Kim as he would not be conquering the south. At the same time I do not see the possibility of North Korea being overtaken by the South as any Chinese intervention would lead to an abrupt halt in progress. The only chance of reunification involves a southern victory which requires for China to remain neutral ( unlikely ) and US intervention which adds a powerful ally for South Korea and a deterrence to any use of nuclear weapons. I really don't see an active conflict sparking at this time however. No matter how much saber rattling there is.

So this would be a significant catalyst.

    • @tenglim4406
      @tenglim4406 Před 3 měsíci +1

      I disagree?!
In terms of weakness, it is important to first determine the political party, and leadership in US in question. By doing so, it'll help us to identify the course of actions, and degree of involvement of US in the global affairs, via the various aspects.
      Here's why:
Democractic Party (globalist): More global involvement -> more diplomacy (in terms of negotiations, and deals) -> more red lines -> more indirect actions (in terms of sanctions, and airstrikes)
      But, since there''ll be:
< direct actions -> viewed as weak or unstable -> < support for US (except their usual allies) > more provocative actions from rogue states (i.e. Iran) - and the cycle goes on, and on again ...
      Compared to that:
      Republican Party (isolationist): vice versa.
Next, the issue of DPRK. In terms of DPRK the likelihood, and nature of the military confrontation are minimal, and that is subjected to the decisions of both Russia, and China (primarily, since they're the largest contributor of both (non-)necessity), and are their largest trading partner). Because, the launch of (possible) military actions against the South Korea or US, if any, will not only spell the end to the Kim dynasty, in which its survival is always the utmost importance to them, and will likely to invite (possible) regime change directly from the Russian or Chinese if without their permission (but the same thing will occur if the current Kim regime is of no use/ too unstable for them).
Lastly, the invasion of Taiwan. Even if there'll be an invasion of Taiwan, the likelihood of it is somewhat minimal, and that is subjected to the Chinese leadership, and internal affairs of China. Despite that, the invasion will (still) occur if the Chinese want to distract the domestic population, and strengthen the CCP at a time of crisis. Instead, the likelihood, and location of an attack by the Chinese will, I believe, either be at: India-Chinese border, South China Sea, or the Vietnamese-Chinese border.

All the more reason to keep sending supplies to the Ukraine. As long as Russia keeps fighting the Ukrainians NK can't launch its war and can't be a diversion for China to take Taiwan. The Ukraine-Russia fight is the pin in the grenade and if it disappears America will see war.

Ok, most of that shit about hypersonic missiles was incorrect. ALL exo-atomsphereic ballistic missiles are hypersonic. ALL OF THEM, all the way back to the German V2s in WW2. So it's an empty threat. The real technology changer is if you could make a cruise missile as a hypersonic missile. Being able maneuver in air is the tricky part. NO ONE has one of those yet. We are working on it, (The AGM-183 ARRW, the "Arrow") and the Russians are working on the Avangard.
