- The plaintiff and defendant met while they were incarcerated, and the two began dating. The plaintiff allegedly broke up with the defendant after realizing he was a controlling, abusive racist. Prior to the breakup, the plaintiff says the defendant kicked her out of their house and he wouldn’t let her retrieve her belongings, so she is suing him for unreturned property and emotional distress. The defendant used to be addicted to crack and was incarcerated for shoplifting, but he has since turned his life around. After the breakup, the defendant says he had the plaintiff arrested for trespassing, and the plaintiff’s new boyfriend assaulted him. The defendant is countersuing for emotional distress.

JM should’ve delved into her claim that he is a racist. He must’ve said and/or did something for her to say that. That’s probably why the defendant gave JM all those compliments before the plaintiff testified against him.
