My cat did this to me all the time as a child, especially whenever I had math homework (my least favorite subject, one that bored me senseless). It's as though he knew how much I hated math and thus refused to let me endure the boredom of solving fractions; instead he spread himself out on top of my papers, and purred to his heart's content, demanding I pay attention to him instead. I miss him, cats can be so aware of what you're feeling and have a solution prepared (even if it's usually sitting on top of what's bothering you lmao).
My family cat would do this all the time while I was a kid growing up. I think they do this because they missed the kids all day and now that they have a chance they demand the attention they missed during the day.
Reminds me of my cat walking over my laptop keyboard (when I was using it!), walking over wet canvas (while I was painting on it!) - and standing right in front of my TV (while I was watching it!) - and yeouwling at me for attention - and food - whenever the mood took her!!!! 🐈🐈's certainly think they rule!!!!!!!!

Reading newspaper until cat lays across both pages & refuses to budge; trying to put new sheet on bed until cat lays in middle of it; trying to clean bath until cat gets in to drink drips of water. Try to vacuum carpet but cat lays in middle & demands I Hoover around it. Want to close back door but cat lying in front, so attempt to pick-up cat who goes limp & 'plays dead' so I struggle to even get my hands under them. Washing kitchen floor & have to close door to stop cat wandering in to see what I'm doing; cutting-back bushes in garden & cat in flower beds underneath or getting under pile of cut branches to see if it's more interesting there. Trying to use PC so cat demands to lie on lap (top half rests on desk), front legs blocking keyboard, head resting on back of my mouse hand.
When wrapping gifts mine would lay in the middle of the paper. When doing yoga they’d be all over me including sniffing/tickling my arm pit. Sorting papers on the floor ? Laying on a stack. Etc 😂😂😂

I think that learning to deal with a cat's quirks can help us deal with difficult people as well. This video is a perfect example. Even my perfect cat will react like that if I don't touch her correctly, and at the right time. But she's awesome.
In this case, I think removing the bells from the cat's collar would help. Cats' ears are many times more sensitive than ours, so imagine living with TWO bells so close to your ears for your whole life -- I'd be a difficult person too.

My cat does the same thing, goes on my papers and my calendar when I have it on the couch making appointments. I just leave her for awhile then she leaves on her own. Or she'll jump in front of my computer and I'll pet s bunch because I've been on it too long and it's a sign she needs attention 😂❤

I got through grad school by always setting out a decoy book for my beloved cat to lie on, so that I could read the books I actually needed to read.
