- Mezzosoprano Joyce DiDonato singing a wonderful "La barcheta" from Reynaldo Hahn.
This was part of German TV programme ZDF's broadcast "The Venice of Donna Leon" May 2013.
La note è bela,
Fa presto, o Nineta,
Andemo in barcheta
I freschi a ciapar!
A Toni g'ho dito
Ch'el felze el ne cava
Per goder sta bava
Che supia dal mar.
Ah!
Che gusto contarsela
Soleti in laguna,
E al chiaro de luna
Sentirse a vogar!
Ti pol de la ventola
Far senza, o mia cara,
Chè zefiri a gara
Te vol sventolar.
Ah!
Se gh'è tra de lori
Chi troppo indiscreto
Volesse da pèto
El velo strapar,
No bada a ste frotole,
Soleti za semo
E Toni el so' remo
Lè a tento a menar.
Ah! - Hudba
One of the best versions of this song
Her voice is a balm for the soul
one of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard and sung exquisitely by Joyce DiDonato.
Preciosa canción magistralmente interpretada con esta elegante y delicada, pero grandiosa voz de ésta Mezzo de Coloratura de Di Donato.
Me fascina, me cautiva, me atrapa y me envuelve como un suave y
What an incredible choice to do this with the guitar! It's so beautiful and evocative.
What bliss it is to exchange
sweet nothings
alone on the lagoon
and by moonlight,
to be borne along in our boat;
you can lay aside your fan, my dear,
for the breezes will vie with each other
to refresh you.
Ah!
Bel Canto at its' finest........hearing her voice is like seeing the face of God.
Oh, so beautiful...
Comentario 2.

A lovely song, amazing voice like silk. Only you can sing like that. I'm your fan.
Awesome, thank you for posting!
The night is beautiful.
Make haste, Nineta,
let us take to our boat
and enjoy the evening breeze.
I have asked Toni
to remove the canopy
so that we can feel the zephyr
blowing in from the sea;
Ah!
Sublime!
I've found the translation. The name of this song in English is "The little boat". Let's enjoy this beautiful music)))))
Très belle interprétation !
Bewitching
Exquisite
Loved the voice and the guitar. Didn't mind the bookended commentary. It was after all a recording not live performance
so so beautiful. anxious to get the translation of this song. it a great regret of mine that my knowledge of languages is so poor.
Oh, dear! I have to admit that she sings it even better than Gérard Souzay, my very favorite singer.
No.
Mezzo-soprano.
Dommage qu'il y ait l'Allemande qui parle par dessus tout à la fin
+fortuna1313a I can't find this sing under the English title
Beautiful, but it is a real shame that this German woman speaks at the end before the end of the song!!! Schämen Sie sich!
+Niels Koers Yes, but different to some languages we swallow the potatoes before we open our mouths. Your comment is ridiculous.
+Jürgen Moos I think Niels was saying that it would have been nice if the woman had waited until the song was completed before she spoke. It was not a slight to the woman herself, or her nationality. It just kind of spoiled the mood.
It is rather rough to say that German people are rough... I only tried to express my disappointment that the woman starts talking while Joyce is still singing this beautiful song.
It was a good film in German TV about Donna Leon and Venedig, not a concert ...
Barbara, it appears that it was a wonderful production. Nothing bad to say about Donna Leon. We're just sad that it was hard to hear Joyce singing at the very end of such a beautiful performance. ;-)
I do wish the stupid announcer did not speak over the music.
Kanye West brought me here. lol

Sublime!
