I know this already is on yt, but I thought a version in slightly better quality would be nice. I love this concert, especially because of the solemn atmosphere on stage :) Plus I adore her dress! - Hudba
That ending “come to mama DO, my sweet embraceable YOU” is Just vocally Stunning. I envy how she gets her voice up there so seemingly effortless.
Joyce is a diva can sing anything fabulously!

She is lovely but somehow the wit, yes wit, of the lyric is missing. This Gershwin is not a torch song bit an 'invitation.'
Very few opera singers can sing popular songs in the right style and the right voice. Unfortunately, Joyce Di Donato is not one of the few. I much prefer this song performed by the likes of Ella Fitzgerald, Helen O'Connell, Judy Garland, Judy Collins, and Frank Sinatra. Joyce should stick to opera, in which she excels.
