what a beautiful, respectful and wonderfully executed documentary. This was an enchanting view of their intimate lives.
I'm remembering Ted Kennedy's quote at this funeral, "Like his father, he had every gift but the length of years." Thanks for telling your story of this magical wedding.
I remember when JFK jr was on every newspaper and magazine cover. And I remember thinking how stunningly beautiful Carolyn was. Now, almost 30 years later, nothing. Not a mention of them. Enjoy your moments in time, because that's all life is. Making memories with loved ones. Money, fame, and possessions mean nothing in the end.
They could've gotten married at St. Patrick's Cathedral in Manhattan, but they chose a small old church without electricity on a remote island off the coast of Georgia. John was such a humble individual and he could've made a great president.
Their plane crash happened a week before my wedding day and I remember being so heartbroken for the Kennedy & Bassett families. It’s wonderful to see that they were able to begin their married life together exactly like they wanted. What an amazing friend you are to have captured this beautiful moment and shared it with us. Thank you🥰
No body go upper than me
I feel like we always lose the people who are destined to make positive impacts on the world. I can’t even express how I feel after watching this it’s like missing someone you never knew. Part of me feel they should’ve kept this sacred just for them but now we get to see how wonderful John and Caroline were and how good of an entourage they had. After all they are resting together and we will always remember them as beautiful people who could’ve made this world a better place.
this is/was so beautiful and touching, thank you to his friend who decided to share this with the world! i was 20 when they died and i remember it like it happened yesterday.
Thank you to John and Carolyn's families for graciously allowing their wedding to be shared with the world. ❤
georgia heat and humidity. riding to location in dirty pick up trucks, service in an old church, no ventilation or AC. outdoor reception walking around in sweat and swamp crotch. she was unable to get her silk dress on because of perspiration. i can't think of a more uncomfortable day.
Truly one of the best documentaries I’ve ever seen. I’m 78 years old, so needless to say, the Kennedy Family meant the world to our generation. A beautiful ceremony. A lovely couple. So much love. Beautiful. Thank you for releasing this treasure.
A huge, heartfelt thank you to the people who allowed this to be shared!
I don't know how I was able to stumble into this period piece but I'm happy I had.
Even though this is not about Caroline Kennedy Schlossberg, I can't help but think about how bereft she must feel, having lost everyone in her immediate family so soon, especially her beloved brother. I've no doubt they thought they were each other's strength, and now that he had found his other half, things could only get better. May they rest in peace.
Everything about this wedding was great. The location, the tiny church, the gospel singer, the small guest list, the informalities, the quirks, the hasty preparation right before the ceremony was scheduled to begin, the "happy accidents" all made it feel real, relatable, and not so manufactured. So many people go out of their way these days to have unconventional weddings, but no amount of planning and coordination could reproduce the magic of this wedding.
I remember calling John, Jon Jon for the longest time. I am 73. I couldn't wait to see John's first child. This was so beautiful. John found his love if even for a short time. Thank you for sharing this happy memory with us.
This was a very special documentary. It was great to hear from his lifetime friends and in the words of his family, the person that he truly was vs the obsessive headlines. Also, to learn what a kind, loving soul his wife Carolyn was as well.
💔💔💔 My heart goes out to Caroline Kennedy who lost not only her parents but her brother. And the Bissett family who lost two daughters at once.
So lovely. So magical. So tragic. Thank you Billy Noonan for sharing this very special tape/video to the world. RIEP John & Carolyn.
Thank you for posting this lovely memory of John's and Carolyn's wedding. May their memory be eternal.
